A simple OCLP reinstall of the 1.3.0 might work, however there have been a number of users here reporting disagreeable results with the 1.3.0. For the time being, I would revert then install anything from the 0.6.8 up to the 1.2.1.

Releases are here https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/releases
I had some FF crashes earlier on with OCLP 1.3.0 - couldn't launch FF windows until a reboot. I downgraded to 0.6.8 with out any more issues.

interesting - i have this problem with firefox as well, but i had the problem on 0.6.8 also. it's gotten worse lately in that after a FF crash, i have to reboot to start FF again.

and now something completely new - in the last few days software update has stopped working, even from the command line. i can't convince the thing to install 16.6.4. when i issue the command to update on the command line, 16.6.4 downloads and then it just hangs.

i had been reluctant to install these point releases without installing OCLP 1.3.0 but maybe 0.6.8 would still be OK?

That's because your flux capacitor is not aligning with the future release of macOS 16.6.4. All joking aside, as the wise ones tell us you should detail your setup for trouble shooting.

I am running Ventura 13.6 on my mid-2014 MBP. Can someone point me to info about upgrading to latest Ventura? Not sure if I need to rerun the entire process.

What I did was to go simply to Software Update in Settings, while avoiding the Sonoma upgrade (you might need to hit the X dismiss, but be careful not to go outside that X) select the 13.6.4 to continue. Not the fastest connection, took me several hours all told. When finished, be sure to reinstall the post install root patches, but avoid the 1.3.0. which many here have found incompatible.

Excellent! Thanks for the info, worked great!

yeah meant 13.6.4.

imac 14,3. other than that, stock machine except i replaced the internal hard disk with a SanDisk SDSSDH31000G.

also strangely the software update pane of system settings hangs for a long time when i try to see the "other updates" - of course it's nagging to upgrade to 14 so the upgrades to safari and 13.6.4 are hidden. overall the software update pane just does not work right.

might finally give up on this thing and just get a refurb M1 imac. it doesn't get a lot of use, just for browsing recipes etc in the kitchen

Below are the macOS update settings (System Settings > General > Automatic Updates) that are working for me on my MBP6,2. Note that I can't apply Rapid Security Response patches on this old rig, so they are disabled. In order to apply macOS upgrades via OTA, I manually download macOS updates (via OTA) when I see that they are available.

well, even though the software update pane was really misbehaving - slow, not responding to clicks, etc. i finally managed to get it to apply the latest safari update and 13.6.4. no idea if things will improve now, we'll see. iMac14,3 lives another day!

Firefox crashes a lot on Ventura 13.6.3 running OCLP 1.3.0 on late 2013 iMac.

I've used it for ages as my default browser on my phone, and like the synchronicity, otherwise I'd shift back to Safari.

Does anyone else have similar FF issues and, any solutions?
I really like Edge on Mac (and iOS) - with uBlock Origin and 1Password - works great on both but if you have an aversion to Microsoft, Firefox it is. I also ran Firefox on mac and iOS then one day tried Edge, liked it and haven't gone back. Still have Firefox installed on Mac though but it's not my default browser (and use it on Parallels Ubuntu 22.04)

Is there a reason not to go to Sonoma? I have a MBP 2015 and an iMac 13,2 (2012) on 14.2.1 and 1.3.0 and both work great---occasionally I have to reboot my MBP every 3 weeks. iMac, no problems at all.

Depends on your use cases. Ventura does not require OCLP root patches for Wi-Fi. Learn more here.

You can always install Sonoma in a new APFS volume and have both Ventura and Sonoma installed while you consider switching completely to Sonoma. Read more here.

EDIT: See here for my OCLP patch strategy.

Did anybody meet an issues with scaling (when set lower resolution)? I get some artifacts or some distortion on colorful icons that rendered by the system - close, hide, fullscreen, especially it clearly visible around icons in Lauchpad, like halo. I can't even attach the screenshot because when taking it there are no any issues get captured.

I've minimized this side-effect by choosing black wallpaper (so now I have black background in Lauchpad and no distortion around icons), white theme and grey selection. But some artifacts is still persists.

Also, when I watch youtube videos I see some interlacing glitches on black-white parts of the frames. It can be fixed by entering into fullscreen player mode. And when activating live screensaver (e.g. Ventura) it seems... not anti-aliased.

It definetly appears only in this installation and only with scaling because I checked old Catalina installation with 2048x1152 resolution and everything is totally fine.

Can I fix it somehow?
