Ventura working smoothly on Nvidia dGPUs? I've got a nice iMac 14,3 that I'd like to attempt an install on toward the end of the month.

Edit: Did some scrolling in this thread and it appears yes. Very impressive, will try it!
Seems to work fine on my iMac14,2 with GTX 780M.

It also installed and booted on my MacPro3,1 with GTX 680 but I haven't been using it. Clicking the button during the "Hello" screen caused the "Hello" screen to restart (WindowServer crash? I didn't check.) Did that a few times, maybe holding the option key while clicking the button to proceed made it work (I haven't verified that by repeating the install)? In the Finder, I used OCLP to install the post install patches (for Nvidia graphics) and rebooted and it was fine. I didn't try many apps or try to migrate my data from Monterey or check Console.app for errors.

My MacPro3,1 can boot all the Mac OS X versions from 10.4 to 10.15 and 11 to 13. I currently use 12.6.1. A recent update to Safari 16.1 has made some websites not load properly, but the MacRumors website works. This is an issue for a different thread. I use Chrome for websites that don't work.

From the looks of it the command turns off hardware video decoding, meaning the dedicated energy-efficient piece of silicon that can decode various common web-video formats gets turned off, forcing the CPU to do it instead.

That'd lead me to believe that, with the hardware decoding enabled, video formats that aren't fully compatible are sent to the decoder if you leave it turned on, causing problems. Alternatively that the decoder in combination with the legacy gpu-driver is somehow misconfigured when running the unsupported OS.
thank you!

Did it stay this way? I had YouTube running for one login session but then again it did not work anymore.
Unfortunately, the problem with me also appears from time to time on the videos not being played. After a reboot it works for me. I guess I'll have to live with the error until the bigger update comes. With 13.1 Beta 2 I didn't have that.

Hello all, need help .... I'm just a simple user who want to keep his device, but not tecki, but can follow a guide.

I finally installed Ventura 13.0 on my late iMac 2015 with OCLP 0.5.1 and I was stuck on a reboot with a 97% percentage advance (....the last reboot before the login in Ventura based on a video guide). After 1 hr, I powered off my iMac. I restarted with press option key, login, downloaded the Kernel_Debug_Kit_13.0_build_22A5365d as mentionned on one post and did the Post install Root patch, but as requested by OCLP to do a reboot, nothing happend. So After 10min, I did a power off again. I noticed after I do a login, I can close my session and redo the login and I can do sleep but not able to do a shut down or restart Very strange and wish it work. My CPU is not at 100% used and no app are open.
Hello, I redo all the process to install Ventura 13.0 with OLCP 0.5.1 and still in same situation not able to do a shut down or restart before or after login in Ventura. So I found that link https://4ddig.tenorshare.com/mac-problems/fix-mac-wont-shut-down.html#part1
who suggest some options to resolve the not shutting down. One of them, is Try the Safe Boot. So I did. at the login page in Ventura , I noticed, all the zones password, shut down option, restart option and suspend option are in gray and the shut down and restart work at login page or after the login. But, when I do a restart or a shut down, guess what… all zones in gray are now in white. I pressed power off and I redo the try the save boot feature and it wok. It’s not normal to do so !!
My late iMac 27 2015 3.2 ghz I5 4 core with 24g of ram is not custom IMac except I replaced my dead original HD one year ago with a Timetec 1T SSD and it work fine since then. See first attachment the login Ventura page that work and the other one where entry are in white. I also noticed, when it’s working the background of all drop down menu are in deep black compare when it’s not working, it’s lighter black. I could missed something, but I redo 3x and double check what I do.

Awesome team of people here. Using OCLP I got Ventura to run on my early 2015 MacBook air and it runs it very nicely, and now also have it running on my late 2014 Mac mini that I saved from the trash can, and it also runs it nicely. Thanks for the awesome work you all put in to make it possible.

Hi, if you unpatch can you boot normally ?

Hello @joevt . My iMac 14.2 i7 CPU with your same nVidia GTX780M card (4GB VRAM) also runs very well with Ventura 13.0.1 and AirPlay and iPhone mirroring also works fine with S..... to minimal.
Unfortunately Continuity Camera does not work and from the notes of khronokernel we know that this defect is part of the problems of our Kepler series graphics cards.

@khronokernel itself, however, proposes to use the "Camo" application instead of Continuity Camera. [https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/1008]
Well: Camo works great with Catalina which I have in the other SSD of the same iMac, but Camo doesn't work in Ventura. Indeed, my iPhone XS connects to Camo, but the Camo box turns black and obviously Camo does not work with FaceTime or PhotoBooth.
Can you tell me, please, if in your iMac Camo works with Ventura or if it works in your other Macs unsupported? Thanks

Do you also know if there is any hope that the OCLP Team will fix this? Or can I try some OCLP setting trick to force Camo to work? After that, our iMacs 14,2 will lack for nothing and will be 100% perfect and Ventura compatible.
Thanks also to other forumers who want to respond

iMac 21.5 2011 updated with Quadro k1000m 2gb, Ventura 13.0.1 (all work fine, only no wifi solved with usb dongle):

Is it possible to solve the problem of missing built-in speaker voice in audio>output in a future release of OCLP?
Hello,
I've just install Ventura on my 27"-2011 (with a radeon RX460), install is ok but at first boot it's seems to looking for a libSystem.B.dynlib file & the boot is stuck on apple logo :-(
Did you have done your installation with the OCLP 0.5.1 ? Did you have this kind of issue ?

I just installed CAMO on my rMBP (10,1) and connected my iPhone13pro without issue through the app, though I must admit that I do not know how to use CAMO. Prior to this after upgrading to Ventura, Continuity or using my phone camera with FaceTime was not possible as it would go black and no feed. I still don't have that functionality with CAMO even though a CAMO option exists under FaceTime's Video but like above, display a black screen.

I've installed Ventura 13.0.1 Patched with Patcher 0.5.1 on a newly installed (from internet recovery) on my MacBookPro9,2. Running great! I had a hard lockup when I left it unattended (just once). No Airdrop (never use it on my Mac).

Very Happy! Thank you all for keeping this machine relevant!

Ps. 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD (with trim forced on)

Actually I just decided to retry the SMBIOS spoof with "Minimal", rebuilt EFI, installed, booted resetting NVRAM and to my pleasant surprise, AirPlay from my phone to rMBP (10,1) now works. Still no using my iPhone camera through Mac FaceTime yet.

Hmm? Can you fill me in on what exactly hasn't worked with the acceleration before this?

Good news @cab_007 and all!
Although Camo.app is connected to my iPhone XS and the Camo viewing window appears black, I tried to start recording a video and to my surprise Camo recorded perfectly what my iPhone captured!!!
This means that the black screen or crashing of FaceTime or Photo Booth in Continuity Camera is not a hardware limitation, but maybe it depends on how Ventura handles Metal graphics using OCLP and the Post Install Patch. So hopefully both Camo and OCLP Developers find a way to overcome this problem. I remember that even with Monterey it seemed impossible to activate the AirPlay function and then, instead, AirPlay started working fine, I think from Monterey 12.3 onwards
