well, the issue I was having last week that someone else reported has returned. the use of command + V to paste text or the use of the arrow keys crashes whatever app you're in. anyone else experience this or have a fix? reboot fixes it and it takes a few days of uptime to return at random. seems to be most prevalent in Microsoft Excel and in the Messages.app.

Is anyone experiencing any bug with Copy-Paste?
When pasting anything on any app that app just crashes. Happen with very app. Text, copy files between folders, everything, as soon as Cmd past is pressed, crashes. But only happens doing the keyboard shortcut, if I do Edit - Copy - Edit-paste no crash. This only happens on the patched machine with RC2. On the previous versions, no such problem.
Sorry no answer for you, only to say I do have a lot of App crashes, not just with copy/paste, but also using the cursor keys. It's so hard to avoid using them instinctively.

You can partly disabled feature(airplay/sidecar) when build OCLP. I have test after do this the app will not crash. But you will lost airplay/sidecar function.

On two attempts this is an error message I am receiving when attempting to create the boot disk.
Ideas? Thanks

Hey everyone, just upgraded from macOS Monterey via OTA Mac updates as I have always done on my Late 2012 27" iMac 13,2. Of course, I have used Open core patcher all the way and OTA updates have been fine until now... Downloaded and installed MacOS 13... via Mac updates screen, all went fine, installed OK then.... this screen shows up..

Anyone any ideas on how to get past it?, USB drive boot works but lands me in the same place. Following Open core patcher instructions to the letter. Nothing works. Tried going back the way with MacOS 12 using the same method, works fine... MacOS 13 just won't boot for me.

Did you create the USB macOS Ventura install disk (recommended) on your system?

Hi, try this : boot on recovery and repair the volumes, containers, and the disk itself with Disk Utility.

Outstanding work from the developers! Thank you all for your outstanding work, got my iMac 14,2 still running like an absolute champ on Ventura! Feels native honestly!

One thing I am wondering though, and I'm not sure if this is a OCLP problem or a problem with Ventura, but in previous macOS versions in Quicktime I'd be able to CMD+C to copy a frame from a video and then CMD+N into the preview app to turn the frame into an image I can save, but now this results in just a black image for most videos I try this with... can anyone replicate or have a solution? Not sure if many people use that function but I always found it very handy for capturing screenshots from videos in Quicktime. Also in finder most of my videos don't have a preview, they are also just black. Thanks again! :)

I agree with Sw1fty, I amvery pleased that the OCLP developers are hard at it. Great job!
Thanks to the OCLP team, I have been able to revive my trusty mid-2014 15" MBP. I added a 2TB NVMe SSD, 16GB ram, and new thermal paste. I installed Ventura using 0.5.1. Everything seems to work correctly, except the buggy wifi issues. But, I have a TB2 to ethernet adapter which works fine. Keep up the great work and thank you for your efforts!

I'm having an odd issue. The install went perfectly, everything seems to be functioning in macOS, but when I restart, I get the stop symbol 🚫. The only way I can get the system to boot is to reinsert my bootable macOS install USB drive and hit option, which then causes the system to see there are two drives. I can then select Macintosh HD and the system boots normally. Obviously I can't keep this drive with me forever so I'm hoping someone has an idea of a fix. :)

I installed Ventura on my Mac Pro 6.1 last night using OCLP 0.5.1. Very easy to install and so far runs smoothly. Link to Kernel debug kit pops up automatically after installation of Ventura. I was a little worried about putting Ventura on my Mac Pro, but now I'm glad I did. Thanks again to Khronokernal and Dortania geniuses

Did you install the EFI partition generated by OCLP on the internal SSD?

erikkfi, macpro_mid2014 guided you correctly. It also looks like you have now since found a reference for this in troubleshooting. In plain terms, I'm also going to outline it here for others:

Problem: You can only startup when the Installer USB is inserted

Explanation: The OCLP Ventura Installer USB contains the EFI you need to boot and your internal SSD does not, thus giving you the 🚫 prohibitory sign without the OCLP Ventura Installer USB present.

What Happened? Typically, the OCLP Ventura USB Installer should automatically install the OCLP EFI on your internal SSD during the OS install process unless it has changed in version releases? This way, you don't require the USB to always be inserted. If this did not happen, others could likely explain better than me the reasons why. Nonetheless, you can always install it manually yourself:

Resolution: To save you going the route of a complete reinstall, you'll need to boot into a macOS system (same system, external disk/USB or different system) where you can access the v0.5.2 OpenCore-Patcher App. Once done, follow these steps to get the v0.5.2 EFI installed on your internal SSD:

1. Launch OpenCore-Patcher
2. Verify your system is correctly listed next to Model at the top of window. Assuming so, I recommend going with the Defaults automatically selected for your system by OCLP.
2A. (Optional/Expert). If you know what you are modifying and why, you can select the Settings button, make appropriate changes, and select Return to Main Menu. Again, know what you are doing here or you are only possibly contributing to the problem.
3. Select Build and Install OpenCore
4. Important! When a window prompts you for the correct disk to install MAKE SURE you know the device string for your internal SSD. For this reason, I recommend either before or during this part you open macOS terminal and type 'diskutil list' so you can see all disks listed, confirm your internal SSD device string, and then know you are clicking the appropriate selection for the EFI installation. Another good indicator is knowing the size of your drive and not having other, unnecessary drives connected during this process.
5. OpenCore-Patcher will do its thing, install the EFI on your internal SSD, and should prompt you to Reboot. If not, I recommend ejecting your Installer USB and Rebooting.

Expected Behavior: Based upon default settings, system should reboot and briefly display EFI and your internal SSD and then automatically boot.
Alternate Try 1 (if needed): If for some reason it doesn't, you can try to reboot again and hold down 'Option' key, then select 'EFI', then select your internal SSD. Then system should automatically boot into Ventura.
Alternate Try 2 (if needed): If you are still experiencing problems, you need to reset you Parameter RAM (PRAM) by first Shutting Down-PowerOn or Restarting computer and then immediately at boot chime hold down Command-Option-P-R AND KEEP HOLDING THOSE KEYS until you hear at least 3 boot chimes then release keys. This is going to take a minute, be patient. Then after 3rd chime, you should get the Boot Screen as in first line of Expected Behavior.

If this does not work, unfortunately I would recommend rebuilding your OCLP Installer USB again and reinstall, unless others have recommendations for your particular scenario. Hopefully, this step-thru helps you or others experiencing similar behavior to begin experiencing the amazing OpenCore-Patcher the developers have created. It's really unbelievable what has been accomplished by this development team for the Mac Community!

This has been happening to me as well. So weird. It's not the hardware keyboard's problem, as it persists across multiple keyboards. Not specific to any app. Any keyboard shortcuts I use in any app risk causing that app to crash. Anyone had any luck in addressing this?

Besides all the app crashing using the arrow keys etc., which I suffer from a lot with my rMBP mid-2012, I've also been experiencing bad keys (JKR). While it sounds like a faulty keyboard, I'm still able to use the keys, but need to hold them down for a very long time before the character appears. Is there any chance this is related to the OCLP Ventura patching? It was working fine before I upgraded from Monterey.
Anyone else experiencing this?
