Can someone please tell me how to upgrade a Mac Pro 2013 using OCLP to run Ventura, to run Sonoma? Is it as simple as upgrading to the latest version of OCLP (when it released with support for Sonoma) and then running the upgrade OTA, or what are the steps?

One post above your latest, download the 0.6.9 nightly, and update to Sonoma RC2 using the Developer or Public Beta.
Or wait 'till the 26th and upgrade to the Sonoma 14 release. The Sonoma OCLP release (version 1.0) will appear soon. See the end of the link I mentioned.

On a MBP 2015 15" 11,5 with Sonoma RC2 OCLP 0.6.9 23 Sep build -
I find that I cannot edit Widgets - can add those that are already in the widget list but if I click on edit widget I get a beachball which doesn't go away - hard reset only way to resolve. Anybody been able to get over this problem? Thanks

The main challenges we still face with macOS Sonoma:

  • T1 support (ie. Touch ID)
    • MacBookPro13,2, 13,3, 14,2 and 14,3
  • Widget support on 3802-based GPUs
    • Intel Ivy Bridge and Haswell
    • Nvidia Kepler
  • Non-Metal Graphics support
    • Plan to hold back support for coming release

iMac 12.1 just OTA update from 13.6 to 14 RC2 (so final tomorrow), on main HD SSD, with latest OCLP 0.69 sonoma developer...

no problem, update successful without any crashes... once started on Sonoma I didn't encounter any problems, all the apps seem to work, from Photoshop to eyeTV and/or in any case my entire configuration...

only Bluetooth didn't work at the beginning, it didn't detect any device and the activation slide returned to the off position after activation... I reset the PRAM and now Bluetooth is detected and the previous devices I had paired have been loaded in Ventura

Can’t use ota om my 2012 Mac mini, softwareupdate -ia also won’t work, it downloads but complains about it not getting verified, I know it’s the downloaded file, it just won’t download the complete installer even when it says a 100 percent, it mostly stalls at 30-60%, then goes slowly to 100% even though the download speed is kilobytes but the percentage goes up faster.
Not the first time either, had this behavior before.

I tried to reset the PRAM as you did, but unlikely the bluetooth on my MBP8,2 is still broken...

I did. No way, maybe in next releases.

probably in the next release of OCLP... I was resigned to the failure to work... in a clean installation of Sonoma on an external USB SSD the Bluetooth doesn't work...

I also had problems when I installed Ventura last year, bluetooth worked partially (no scrolling on magic mouse), basically the hardware was not detected, then after a few weeks either with a new version of OCLP or after injecting an updated version of the kext bluetooth (I don't remember), it started working again

The 24 Sept. version is now available, here. Have not installed, as yet. Thanks for the heads-up.
How are you expecting that to be different from the OCLP Sonoma-development version that you're building yourself? Not challenging, just curious.

BTW: I have build OCLP after the latest commit and applied post-install patches on my MBP6,2 (Sonoma 14.0 RC2). Still working perfectly.

Hey all, I'm looking for the september 25th nightly of 0.6.9, apparently according to the root patcher, that's the latest version. However, when I download the nightly, the get info says it's the 24th, can someone point me to a link that will get me the Sept 25 binary ? thanks.

@MacinMan I wonder if we're running into time zone differences as witnessed earlier in this thread? The last commit to OCLP 0.6.9 Sonoma-development appears in GitHub as 9/24.

It's probably a better idea to look in GitHub to examine the commits than it is to rely on dates. At least with the commits, you can see whether a change is relevant to your Mac.

Yeah, I will, I got the download from github directly so I'll just use what I got as it works until they release the official.

The 23 Sept. build is 598.5MB, the 24 Sept. version is 648.4MB, unless I goofed-up the build? 🙃

Had the same issue, fixed it by creating a new user, and trying the software update preference pane from there.

There is an OCLP discord channel that I find very helpful called "github". This channel is used by an OCLP GitHub bot to automatically record OCLP GitHub activity. If you want to see Dev activity on OCLP, this is a great place to look.

For example, the OCLP GitHub bot last recorded these:

You'll need to sort through the posts to find things relevant to your Mac and filter out activity that is specific to the OCLP UI vs. macOS patching.

Hey @didily did you ever resolve the Bluetooth issue? I just installed RC2 with the latest nightly build of OCLP and the issue was still there on my 10,1 iMac. So I tried a cheap Bluetooth 4.0 dongle from Amazon and the problem appears to have been solved. Maybe worth a try if you are still struggling with it.

Updated to the latest version of OCLP 0.6.9n, yet WPA Enterprise Wifi doesn't work still. Any suggestions?

Suggestions?

1. Do nothing, be patient and wait for a fix.
2. Get an officially supported Mac.
3. Connect via Ethernet to a WiFi router (AirPort Express perhaps?) locally that can connect to that network until a fix is available.
4. Go offline and take holidays. ;)
