When you are attempting this, are you alt-booting from the USB OCLP EFI and does it have the OCLP EFI on it? You should see it during alt-boot.Good morning all, from Accra, Ghana. I downloaded OCLP 1.0 and tried to create a USB installer, using a previously downloaded Install macOS Sonoma app (which, curiously, shows build 23A343 not 344). The USB is a 256 gb SanDisk USB3.1, which has been working flawlessly. The installer is created, but I cannot start from it - all I get the dreaded "Forbidden" sign, after using the Alt-key to select the USB. The laptop is a MBP11,4 (2015, 16Gb RAM, etc); right now it is running macOS Ventura 13.6, installed the same way. Any suggestions on how to go? Should I use the 'Create macOS installer, and let it download its own installer instead of using existing installer (as I did)? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Yes, I do see the OCLP EFI, and I select that first before starting. When you are attempting this, are you alt-booting from the USB OCLP EFI and does it have the OCLP EFI on it? You should see it during alt-boot.
Patience is a virtue... 🤣 it was 6:48 AM North America ET when you posted that. True, it is October 2nd so it might well hit today, or it might not. The final decision to GA-release s/w is seldom made before at least two or more cups of coffee.I wanted to find out, if the OpenCore 1.0.0 binary I downloaded from Github this morning is the final? When I downloaded it, it wasn't listed under the public releases yet. I got it from the same link I had been getting the nightlies. Updated both Ventura and Sonomal installs and all seem to be working well.
I was really going by how Apple does their RC vs the public release. Many times the RC is the final release and those using it just have it before the public. So because this is an Apple specific project, I was mainly curious if they do things the same way.Patience is a virtue... 🤣 it was 6:48 AM North America ET when you posted that.
