Many thanks, your idea works perfect now. The bluetooth device is now recognized as Apple device.See Post #2024 😉😊
Great solution!
That has been a very valuable hint.
Thanks again for the quick cross reference to #2024

Oh yes, I’ve had just to install on a newly created volume. All is working quite nice, including Wi-fi and Bluetooth.Have you been able to install Sonoma and (if so) how does it work on your iMac 13,2?
thank you very much, it worked on my imac 2009I had similar bluetooth problems when I upgraded to Sonoma from Ventura on both a 2011 and 2010 iMac.
This is what I did to get bluetooth back.
Download Ben Baker's Hackintool.app. Use the app to edit NVRam directly. Look for the entries:
bluetoothExternalDongleFailed
bluetoothActiveControllerInfo
bluetoothInternalControllerinfo
Delete all the entries, and wait for the NVRam to refresh itself. At least one of the entries (bluetoothExternalDongleFailed) should come back with value of <00>. If not, repeat deleting the entries.
For me bluetooth worked again when I performed the above steps, bluetooth settings will show all previously paired devices, and auto connect to them just as before the update.
Can you please describe your exact Bluetooth problem on your 2009 Imac and did you use the exact steps in post 2024? Thanksthank you very much, it worked on my imac 2009
In my MPB11,2 the SafeBoot hangs only if I had already applied root patches. Without root patches (OTA install, then boot to SafeMode), it works.… Also installed a fresh copy of Sonoma to an external SSD and tried to safe boot from there: but it hangs about halfway, exactly as with my upgraded main Sonoma installation. (With the root patches reverted, safe boot works.)
I have not seen the same issue. However, I would try to repair the Photos library (hold option and command keys when launching the photos library) or try to reproduce the problem with the new library and a few test pictures. The Photos app seems to crash whenever I press the 'Memories' tab on my MBP11,1. Anyone else who has this issue?
My MBP6,2 battery holds almost no charge, so I have to keep it plugged in to use and can't comment on the battery life impacts in Sonoma. I can say that my fan never runs. The Devs have worked some magic with power management in the newer versions of macOS.What about Battery life in your installations? The „play with me“ MBP6,2 has a total fresh battery. Coconut tells me, 102%. But Sonoma drains the battery in less than 2hrs. Anybody can say this, too?
iMac with Sandy Bridge CPU + Kepler and OCLP 1.0.1 Sonoma: can not wake up display every morning. Boot performs from internal SSD w/o any external drivesDoes anyone have a problem with sleep? My iMac can't wake up.

Yes, my 2017 27" iMac 5k (iMac18,3) is about 50% waking from overnight sleep (6+ hours).Does anyone have a problem with sleep? My iMac can't wake up.

Thanks for your response. When I look into gfxCard, the most works comes from „liginwindowd“, so the MBP stays always (More or less) on the discrete graphics-card?!My MBP6,2 battery holds almost no charge, so I have to keep it plugged in to use and can't comment on the battery life impacts in Sonoma. EDIT: Ok, my fan just came on. It almost never runs. And it looks like the fan came on because TM just triggered.
My iGPU has problems, so I have had to disable. Some of those problems have been mentioned in this thread. I use only dGPU in my MBP6,2.Thanks for your response. The laptops 15 and 17-inch MBP4,1s, can use up to 6Gb memory. If you were to replace one of its 2Gb DIMM cards with a 4Gb one, it would transform the performance of the laptop dramatically, so much so you will enjoy the laptop's performance under Sonoma. This worked for me on Catalina, for the 17-inch version.I used OCLP 1.0.1 to upgrade my MBP 4,1 15-inch from Ventura to Sonoma yesterday. I used a USB mouse attached to an external USB Apple keyboard.
Root patching was something I had to do twice. The first time, keyboard functionality wasn't installed. No BT, but wifi is functional.
The performance isn't great, but it's not terrible either. Considering the laptop is 15 years old, it is more than decent! So, congrats and great appreciation to the OCLP team.
Hello, I am French I will try to explain this to you:Can you please describe your exact Bluetooth problem on your 2009 Imac and did you use the exact steps in post 2024? Thanks

That doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. From the crash log it seems to have something to do with 'com.apple.photos.metalrenderer-compile'.I have not seen the same issue. However, I would try to repair the Photos library (hold option and command keys when launching the photos library) or try to reproduce the problem with the new library and a few test pictures.
Maybe I am particularly thick, but I can't find the answer to a (relatively) simple question;
On a Mac Pro 2013, which is right now running Ventura with the help of OCLP (upgraded to 1.0.1), how should I upgrade to Sonoma?
1) OTA via System Settings/Software Upgrade, or
2) Using a USB stick, which has been formatted and had the macOS Sonoma installer laid onto it, using the OpenCore app?
I have looked all over this thread and can't find a straight answer...
Yes, it is considered the orthodox (safer) method to go the USB, wipe and install route, but you probably will need a USB 2 hub or a wired keyboard and mouse to get through the slow (glacier class!) setup Apple runs you through with that method. I did it using the OTA upgrade method, and it was painless and I have noticed no issues. That was on a iMac 15,1 with a relative simple system, only a mail client and Office 2019 installed. YMMV if you have a complex setup, audio or video software, etc. You can always make the USB, do the easy OTA method, and if it doesn't work out, punt and do it the old fasioned way!it’s using the USB stick which is considered the safer method of the two while you can do both , again USB would be considered safest route.
