The MBP11,3 (and also other models) boot problem I talked about some days ago is still not fixed in OCLP 2.3.0 final:

Yet another Kepler issue? Who knows…

nice thanks...Metallib 24E248 released in this minute...

Hello to everyone,

New OCLP 2.3 has just been released and, per change-log, it contained fixes for NON METAL machines, among other improvements.

MacBook Pro 5,2 (NON-METAL)

Downloaded latest 15.4 version of Mac OS Sequoia via the new OCLP 2.3 utility onto 15.3.2 volume on the laptop. Extracted OS zip file to the usual Application folder location, then launched installation process. Target was another volume on same SSD, and process completed without issues. After booting into the desktop (and logging in via external-hub routed keyboard) patching process, including KDK download, completed without issues.

I can report that MacBook Pro 5,2 (non-metal) functions very well, graphics are accelerated, and operating system has no deficits other than those already known to exist for all non-metal machines in general.

iMac 13,2

Updated OTA to latest 15.4 release (3.31.25) and updated OCLP to 2.3.
Installation and patching process went without incidents and machine functions extremely well.

Absolute thank you to the developer teams. A special thank you to Zoe, ASentientBot, EduCovas and Sentienthedgehog (?), whose names appear in color font in the verbose output of the latest OCLP 2.3, and who may have been involved in restoring full graphic functionality to Non-Metal machines (among others)

There is no intent on my part to omit name of anyone involved int OCLP endeavor, but I do assume there was a reason the OCLP team highlighted those team members in the last release.

Hope this data may be of help

Updated my mid 2012 MacBook Pro to OCLP 2.3 and MacOS 15.4. No issues noticed so far, turned off auto updates and mail categories. Still no webgl in Safari and the levels panel in Preview is still broken. Will update if any other positive or negative changes are noticed.

Oh, one positive change, the System Settings seems to respond better and not be as sluggish.

FYI, updated MacBookPro13,3 to macOS 15.4 (24E248) using OCLP 2.3.0 and it seems to have broken some TouchID functionality. Works for login but when trying to autofill passwords in Safari using iCloud Keychain, Safari crashes. When attempting to open Passwords.app the app immediately crashes when requesting TouchID. Same with Notes.app (I have protected notes). Re-installed root patches and have rebooted multiple times with no change in behavior.

Updating my 5,1 (15.3.2) to OCLP 2.3.0 bricked my mac - prohibited sign on boot (after boot picker). Had to revert.

iMac 14,2 27” i7 CPU and nVidia GTX780M 4GB VRAM (Kepler)
Sequoia 15.4 installed via USB key (method also recommended by OCLP Developers)

NEW FEATURE FOUND:
YouTube in Safari now allows to display videos at 2160p (4K) while until now it put everything at 1080p showing the "HD" banner (Note: I use BetterDisplay which makes HiDPI the 2560x1440 (110DPI) screen of my iMac like a Studio Display... You can read online about this real success story. It also works with external displays, preferably 27" 2560x1440 (110DPI), like an original Apple display)

STILL DEFECTIVE:
- The histogram in Preview.app not appearing and if I press the "Auto Levels" button or if touch the two sliders at its ends the open image I want to edit disappears. (Note: the center slider of the histogram instead works).
- Receiving videos from YouTube (on the iPhone) to the Mac via AirPlay still does not work. (Note: AirPlay and AirDrop works well in other situations)

I add that everything works fine if I instead boot the Mac with Sonoma (from an external SSD)

Oh boy. So maybe i will hold off on updating my 13,3 Macbook pro. I use the passwords app for everything. I installed OCLP 2.3.0 with 15.3.2 and touch id in passwords still works. But generally i am running in clamshell mode and hardly use touch id at all. Does the passwords app still work with inputting password manually or it crashes when requesting touch id before anything is put in.

Maybe the failure to boot on some models could have to do with something wrong in the OpenCore config file…? One would have to compare the ones from 2.3.0 and 2.2.0, to see if there are any differences. Anyway, let’s hope that the OCLP devs can fix this issue!

(Some days ago, I also said that Software Update now works in 15.4 for Kepler Macs, without hangs and unresponsiveness; well, sort of: the macOS updates now correctly show up and the update process starts immediately (albeit still without displaying the license agreement), but at the end it fails to reboot the machine, with some kind of NSURLErrorDomain error. So, it’s still necessary to revert the root patches and update from an unpatched state, or alternatively use a full offline installer. The Kepler never ending story…)

I am having problems now since I updated OCLP to 2.3.0 (15.3.2) via the patcher app.

First after doing updates as offered (OC and Root patches) I could no longer boot - after bootpicker I just get the contact applesupport.com prohibited sign.
Restarted to boot into Mojave.
Uninstalled OCLP completely and checked EFI was deleted.
Installed Patcher 2.2.0 and installed new EFI / OCLP.
Rebooted back to Sequoia drive by itself. No root patches so no wifi/BT etc. I said OK to install root patches. Rebooted.
Back into Sequoia OK, everything works except bluetooth won't turn on. Turns on then turns itself off again. Magic mouse works (!) BUT only clicks and pointer. No scroll. System settings still shows bluetooth off, as does menubar. System Settings only shows mighty mouse options (connected via second keyboard used to do OCLP since I lose wifi etc before root patches)
Update OCLP via patcher and do all suggested OC install in Sequoia - Rebooted.
No more boot. Same problem with prohibited.
Again, reboot into Mojave. This time update OCLP to 2.3 in Mojave using downloade 2.3 installer and not via patcher. Do OC installs and reboot into Sequoia OK.
Apply root patches. Now it reboots back into Sequoia OK but still with bluetooth problem. Cannot connect to discord for support as it needs bluetooth to log in.
So all seems working mostly OK but no bluetooth even though magic mouse responds but without scrolling ability.
System settings bluetooth turns on but turns itself off. No other bluetooth functionality with any other BT devices.

Any suggestions to get this install back to normal with bluetooth and a working magic mouse? Or how I can get this all back to at least how it was before I did the Patcher update?
Thanks

Edit: Managed to update to 15.4 but still the bluetooth/mouse problem exists.

I think I've messed my Mac Pro 5,1 install up. I have updated to 15.4 but I didn't update the OCLP first :( and I'm now getting no display, I can SSH and even screen share into it but nothing shows on screen does anyone know if you can update root patches and OCLP through terminal via SSH? Or a way to revert root patches from recovery as I can get into recovery. TIA
