Used OCLP 2.4.0 to create the latest Sequoia install USB for my MBP 11,5.

Booted the USB, erased the existing internal 512GB SSD (using Disk Utility) and ran the install for a fresh copy of 15.5.

Went smoothly, with the usual steps working in sequence. Rebooted and so far, so good.

Safari 18.5 is working for me. I'm using it to read and post here right now.

macOS 15.5 installed atop 15.5b2 OTA, OCLP v.2.4.0, runs as expected. Safari intact. 15.5.jpg:apple:👏

Thanks for your time. You guys deserve an update:
-The SDK (before rootpaches from v2.4.0), that download has gone wrong (not a complete download) so I ended up with a Dutch laptop with the right Patches but with the wrong SDK files.
-Result was a functioning MBpro 2015, but Safari-app crashed and Laptop temperature at a 100 degrees C.

Solution: Rebuilt OCLP- and reapply Patches > The missing SDK was magically offered for download. And when done: Reboot.

_Machine is happier than ever, just like it owner. Thanks folks! 🙏

So here is my 5,1 specs 2009 upgraded to 5,1
Radeon RX 6800 16GB flashed for Mac
52GB memory 1066 Mhz DDR3
Gigabyte Titan Ridge 2.0
Sonnet McFiver though I've pulled to do the install something about it keeping you from seeing the EFI Boot during restart
Wired Apple keyboard with the internal 2.0 hub with a wired mouse plugged directly into it and it into the back USB port on the mac
USB 3.0 drive plugged into the front USB port
Mac 0S Monterey
OCLP 2.4.0
I followed the instructions as I have done in the past using OCLP to create a Sequoia install onto a 64 GB 3.0 USB drive
Install the EFI boot onto the USB drive then reboot holding down the option key
Select the EFI Boot volume on the USB then select install Sequoia next
The screen goes to the Apple logo but there is no progress bar I left it for 4 hours today and still no progress.
Also the activity light on the USB drive and my mouse goes dead right after I select install Sequoia.

I'm just trying to get this installed to test my studio setup prior to buying an M4 Mac Mini and also to be able to DFU after I swap the hard drive on the Mac Mini.

I've tried this several times with slightly different configurations i.e plugging into a 3.0 powered USB hub
Plugging the USB drive into the mac Keyboard hub but always the same results it goes dead right after selecting install Sequoia

I've ordered a 2.0 USB hub and a 32GB 2.0 USB drive in case either one of those might be the issue being 3.0 that I have now.

Any ideas why this is refusing to install?
Any known issues with GPU or Titan Ridge 2.0?
I have an old GTX680 that I can swap out with RX 6800 if I can find the old power cables.
Thanks

AMD Navi GPUs are not functional on Ventura and newer on classic Mac Pros due to lack of AVX2.

RX6800 only works with Monterey, after that there are no drivers in the OS for it due to lack of AVX2 with the old Xeon processors. SO you need to stick with Monterey for the 6800 or you need to get a different GPU. RX580 worls with Sequoia. The 6800 needs to be patched in a Windows PC with Syncretics patch as well or the Mac will not boot.

Forgot to post this at the time but rMBP10,1 mid 2012 updated from Sequoia 15.4.1 to 15.5 (24F74) + OCLP 2.4.0

Very smooth update and running stable for four days now. Logs look OK, the usual stuff, some of which I understand, nothing fatal (to me anyway).

I used OCLP to download the Apple installer to ~/Applications and ran it from there, and repatched on first login. Feeling groovy, looking fine.

Hello, I wonder if someone has come across this issue and has a solution as it's really holding me up from progressing with my podcast:

I have a mid-2010 Mac Pro 5,1 with metal graphics and powered USB 3 hub as well as a recently installed USB 3 / USB C PCIe card. I have successfully installed Sequoia 15.5 using the incredible OpenCore Legacy Patcher and all is well except that when I want to capture video from my Panasonic Lumix GH4 or GH5 using a U-Green video capture card into OBS or other podcast software that I've so far tried, the capture card shows up but there is no video.

When I boot up in my older Mojave OS using an earlier version of OBS everything is fine. Equally the Lumix Beta USB capture software also works in Mojave but not in Sequoia. I know that my old Mac has issues with legacy USB, hence the powered USB options that I've installed, but still no image appears.

I am considering purchasing a couple of dedicated webcam cameras, but I have my doubts about whether they would work if my GH cameras don't. It seems to me that there may be some simple lines of code or Terminal commands that may clear this as it's surely something to do with USB, or is it? Why no video through USB with my new system?

I hope I've explained things clearly but am happy to provide more information if required. I'm also hoping that this is the right part of the forum to post this, but I'm sure I'll be pointed to the right place if not!

Many thanks in advance.

FYI, as was pointed out to me in the Sonoma thread, disabling WebGL fixes some of the issues we run into with the newer Safari versions. For example, the Cloudflare captcha works when WebGL is turned off.

defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitPreferences.webGLEnabled 0

Just change the 0 to 1 if you need to turn it back on.

I'm not sure if this is better than using the Tech Preview fix or not, but it probably just depends on how often you actually need WebGL. The newer Safari is probably better in general just to have the latest security fixes.

Wow, nice. Thanks for sharing. Indeed Cloudflare captcha works for me again. Also marinetraffic.com has no issues anymore. Only flightradar24.com left not working...

Confirmed also here: after turning WebGL off this way (and restarting Safari), login with CloudFlare works! Many thanks.
MBP11,1, MacOS 15.5, OCLP 2.4.0, Safari 18.5 (20621.2.5.11.8).

Please advise; after upgrading to 15.5, Safari browser will not work and can’t show any site.
What am I missing? Thanks 🙏

Macbook pro mid 2015. 11,5 model
OCLP latest en latest macOS.
Updated to 15.5 with OCLP 2.4.0 on iMac 27" Late 2015 as well and get the same issue.

Both Chrome and Safari don’t load any websites and show the error DNS_PROBE_STARTED. However, when VPN is turned on, there is no such a problem.

This will probably be my last post for a while. My house was burgled this morning and both of my laptops stolen - the MBA 2020, and the MBP11,4 from 2015. I am arranging for my daughter to get me another laptop, but that might take some time. I am writing this on Pixel 7A. Damn thieves could have left me one😏
Very sorry to read this. If you had location enabled maybe you can see where they are and notify police of location?
Hope insurance will work and that you had backups. Be safe, be well.
