There is Legacy USB 1.1 for root patches, does this mean my wired mouse and keyboard cannot be used? what can I do next if it is true?
I have an MBP5,2 which also has legacy USB1.1 ports. So internal keyboard/trackpad don't work before root patching, and the external USB ports have limitations as the one you observe.
The usual trick is: plug am USB2 hub into one of the USB ports, and connect the wired keyboard and mouse to the hub. That should make your machine respond to them. Another option is to wire the keyboard and mouse to a dual USB expresscard if you have one (I use a nanoTECH dual USB3.0, but going via the hub works as well).

The problem is what I did use the same USB hub and wired keyboard and mouse until this time, that was no problems before yesterday, can you explain for me?

The way I understand what OCLP does, it patches your USB ports. If they are not patched, then your your wired mouse and keyboard (which you plug into USB ports) shouldn't/won't work. Are the wired mouse and keyboard your only options? No inbuilt keyboard - as in a laptop?
I am using a Mac mini (Late 2009), I wonder why I could use same USB hub and wired keyboard and mouse until yesterday, I did use them update from El Capitan updated to Sonama and Sequoia...

Cryptex?

Ever since installing macOS Sequoia 15.1.1 I've noticed the presence of a "hidden" volume called Creedence11M6270.SECUREPKITRUSTSTOREASSETS_SECUREPKITRUSTSTORE_Cryptex that can be seen as a non-ejectable volume, for instance, in Disk Utility. Does anyone know whether this is caused by Sequoia itself or it's something related to OCLP? Is there a way to actually get rid of this volume?

I think this is created by OCLP 2.1.2, not by Sequoia 15.1.1, because I only use Sequoia 15.1...

Hello to all,

Reports:

iMac 13,2 installed 15.2 beta4 OTA using OCLP 2.2n

Hand off, Air Drop and continuity features work without noticeable problems.

Couple of exceptions, one is lack of ability to launch applications on the iPhone from the iMac desktop when in screen mirroring mode. That functionality is (probably) only available on an M1+ Macs (chip architecture(?)) Second exception occurs when launching iPhone mirroring application from iMac; it will prompt to unlock iPhone, and launch code entry screen on iPhone, but fails with “cannot connect to iPhone” message. Otherwise fully functional.

MacBook Pro 5,2 (not metal compatible), installed Sequoia 15.2 beta4 OTA with OCLP 2.2n over Sequoia 15.1.1 (the latter has same functionality as the new 15.2 beta4)

There is full graphic acceleration, with some minor graphic artifacts when windows with dynamic elements overlap on the desktop (this has been reported previously).

WiFi and Bluetooth work (as does Ethernet). “Hot spot”, Hand off, Continuity and Airdrop do not function however (FeatureUnlock: enabled). When trying to get WiFi information by clicking on the “three dots in a circle” in WiFi panel, nothing happens. In addition, trying to activate hotspot in Wi-Fi preferences panel causes crash ( see attached photo for message). iWork applications will launch, but crash when trying to open an existing or new document.

Still amazing to be able to run 15.2 beta 4 on a 15 year old machine and, what does work, functions well.

Great work by developers

Hope it may be of help.

There is related discussion on Apple community forums; appearance of Cryptex dmg on desktop is related to Sequoia issues, and unlikely to be precipitated by OCLP.

Safari doesˋt work at all on my MBP5,1 with 15,2 b4.

Thanks OKnnel. You have described perfectly what I am thinking about and my doubt about to go back or not. I will wait so. Let's see...Thanks again
I had the exact same issues on a late 2016 macbook pro 15". I went back to sonoma and it's been great. I never used OCLP before but under sequoia too many things didn't work. Everything works here smoothly so far. I keep checking to see if there is any possibility to upgrade to sequoia properly.

Like you said, I use a new USB hub, now my wired keyboard and mouse did theie work! Thank you for your suggestion.

Thanks for your reports, always helpful.

As for my machines:
MBP11,1: internal SSD on 15.1.1, external for tests on 15.2db4. Both installed from USB installer. OCLP 2.1.2.
MBP5,2: internal SSD on 15.2db4. Installed from USB installer. OCLP 2.1.2.

On the MBP5,2: I didn't get Wifi to work - it seems the system setting for Wifi exits with error, like in your case. The "three dots in a circle" respond to ctrl-click, but no useful response follows to the "forget" selection.
Safari 18.2 starts but doesn't load any page I tried without erroring out. Using Firefox for now, including for this post.
Wifi and Safari were working fine with 15.1.1 if I remember correctly.

I am still using OCLP 2.1.2. It seems the only code change with/since version increment on Nov 17 was for navi AMDRadeonX6000.

I'm very grateful to the OCLP developers. MBP11,1 runs very reliably as my main machine.

Hello dear members,

Since I installed custom OS via OCLPs (somewhere in 2022. -couldn't afford a new machine) I always ran into iWork apps crash, no matter what. Everything else seems to work just fine but the Apple iWork Apps (had previously a small issue with SonomaOCLP & #died Airdrop).
Now with Sequoia via OCLP 2.1.2 - getting the same disappointing behaviour, even not letting me to draw a line! (Pages, Keynote ...).

I guess I need your help, please. 🙏
Has any of you faced these issues? Any permanent fix found to suggest or share?

PS: Kindly see the attached report. (I renamed it with .txt instead of .rtf. so name it back to open)

I've been following these threads for a long time and learned a lot. I finally joined because I can't get my bookmarks to synk, airdrop, continuity features like sidecar to my iPad Pro? Is there any possible fixes I can try running randomly from root user account?

Press and hold of a shift-key while launching Pages. That prevents it from loading its last saved application state. Do you store docs in iCloud?

Thanks for the tip amaze1499 . Tried that already. (I read your suggestions w. shift and safe mode while ago). The issue still remains. Once I want to insert a shape or modify anything relates to any existing object/shape. What I'm (just) guessing actually is there's a mismatch between my graphic card and OCLP drivers. But then, why is popping up on all other machines ... (my wife's Mac, my mother's mini...).
<<keeping docs on iCloud ...>> Negative.

i cross posted this in the sonoma thread, which forced me to update to macos15, so here i am...

There is a NASTY bug in Sonoma, where if i restart my computer the graphics driver stops working properly and Windowsserver goes on a really high CPU load and everything slows to a crawl. I can get out of this if i update to the next .1 version of sonoma, this worked until it didn't, then I had to update to macOS15 (from macOS14). So I updated and I am fed up. I don't ever want to be force to update my OS TWO TIMES just because OCLP is a buggy. I turned off all OS updates in the settings and I also read on reddit to delete the dortania folder in /Library/Application Support/ . i repeat, I should not have to go through such extreme lengths to force OCLP to NOT autoupdate and cause problems, OCLP should respect the user and if they don't want to update then they shouldn't force the patches in the background which then forced me to update macOS to fix it.

I don't know if macOS 15 OCLP fixes this bug, i would imagine it doens't, but i wont be able to find out (hopefully) as all updates are turned off.

this will be the last time I install OCLP, next time I will just buy a new mac when software support runs out.

I have a 2012 iMac 13.1 currently Open Core 2.1.2 and happily running Sequoia 15.1.1. Its has 16GB RAM and a 500GB ssd. However the SSD is nearly full and I need to extend my use of this machine for another couple of years. My plan is to clone the current SSD onto a 1TB one, open up the case and replace the internal one.

Is there software that would let me clone the SSD to make this substitution or has Open Core compromised that?

Fresh install would be ideal upon replacing the ssd with a larger one through a service repair desk/lab. Otherwise, DiskUtility, CarbonCopy or Super Duper - known as reliable and user friendly.
(off-topic) By the way, have you noticed any abnormal behaviour on your iWork suite after Sonoma/Sequoia OCLP?

this is the first time where macOS seq froze on me and i had to restart my computer to get it to work again. Rare freak occurence or is this normal?
