Same failures here. I’ve been trying for hours and and at first it seemed to be downloading, but now I just get the same failure messages as everyone else.

Yeah getting it too.

Good thing the kept pushing back the release to make sure everything was solid while really building up the anticipation for the release date!

An Apple rep just replied in Message. "I was actually checking the Apple System status and it seems we are experiencing some issues with the MacOS Software Update server". They also said that once it's fixed, we should be able to download and install without a problem. We'll see. He was asking if I had a backup. I told them Time Machine backups. I asked if I would have to go to one of those backups and they said no. Hmm..

I suggest people simply walk away from trying to download it for a few hours. Try again tonight, and if not, try tomorrow. Not worth going crazy over.

Same here, thought I was going crazy, also had major lag, from what seemed to be something involving trustd and the update servers, luckily I had to update the command line tools and that seemed to rectify that part. What a mess, in decades of dealing with Apple, as well as doing every update they ever did after they gave them away for free, I must say this is by far the worst, incredibly embarrassing, and another item on my list of things driving me away from the brand that seems to have been exponentially growing as of the last couple years.

Happened the same on my macbook pro 2020 13” with t2. Looks like it’s a common problem. anyway the file is too big to download. I may as well stick with Mac OS 10.15 for the time being

Installation still failed, but I was able to get through to the apple site and order a new macbook pro.
Was able to trade my 2017, 256g, 8g ram for a new M1 with 512g, 16g ram for $1279. Will take 2-3 weeks to get, but I think it will be worth the upgrade.

I was on rc2 I unerolled and got a 2.1gb update to 20b29
