Why do you want a full installer? Simply enroll to beta installs, and install it via software update. 10.13.1 and 10.13.2 running fine on MBP4,1. The bug with Safari/AppStore/any other app with WebView will be fixed with Onyx. Maybe something went wrong with some permissions.

First off, the updates via App Store seem to be only partial, after 17 minutes into the update (estimated: 47 mins.) the machine reboots, would it be a wild guess that this leaves me with a corrupted -only partially updated- system software?

Second off, I'd like to keep a bootable USB stick with the latest sytem at the ready.

Of course I'd prefer the Update method via App Store, it worked fine until 10.13.1. 10.13.2 betas 1-5 malfunction/misbehave as described above.

Your thoughts would be appreciated, @Czo

I made the patch for the App Store. It's modify the following things in the update process:
- removing the creation of the trusted preboot environment
- skipping updating the recovery partition because it's not necessary for us
- skipping all of the firmware updates

The first (preboot creation) and the second step made the time differences. Many people also find non workable Safari and App Store after 10.13.1 on their compatible machine. So if you also find this simply run onyx to resolve it. Something is wrong but not in the update/upgrade process because compatible macs also suffering from this "bug".

Hello,

When I search for updates, an error message appears "An error has occurred ... simulate being swidist.furcode.com"

Thanks!

I'm having an issue with two MacPro 4,1 models, they're both on 10.13 with the unsupported high sierra patcher, but I can't find any new updates in the app store. So I can't update them to 10.13.1, for example. I have tried reinstalling both the Patch Updater and the Software Update Patch from Patch Updater in the Utilities directory. But still, no dice.

I also couldn't install the 10.13.1 update manually from Apple, which I thought was weird.

Hi, I'm having some issues with usb power and charging usb during sleep on a mbp5,1; my 2 USB2.0 ports supply now only 500ma, previously on Sierra they provided 800-1000ma and also now when my mac goes on sleep, with closing display, power charge from USB is cutted off and I cannot charge anymore iPhone, smartband, etc..
Thank You

So my brightness issue is fixed but I'm still having trouble getting the computer to wakeup after closing the lid for it to sleep. Backlight comes on and I can even adjust my brightness but its almost like the HD isn't waking up. I'll disable putting HD to sleep when possible but needing to reboot every time I go into a meeting is kind of irritating. Might have to roll her back to Sierra until someone comes up with a solution.

EDIT: So I found that if i close the lid a second time and then open it back up after a couple second the screen pops back on. I'll take it as a partial victory for now.

Was having a problem creating a bootable installer, turned out to be a cable problem.

BTW, big difference in performance between different generation USB sticks....

Mine does the same, but I've had that issue occasionally for years. (I rarely sleep the computer, since it's used as a desktop, though.) I've also seen it on my girlfriend's 2015 mba, however, so I assumed it was an OS issue related to opening the lid while ram was still being persisted or something.

Heck it very well could be.

So I went out and grabbed some dinner and came back and opened the computer after a couple hours and it woke right up. *Shrugs* As long as I don't have to power it down I'll be a happy camper except that the issue seems to have a mind of its own. If it turns out to be an issue with the computer itself I'd be fine with that. Being an Early 2009 I think that's pretty darn good! :^)

I think it will not be a solution this time, if Apple does not customize the video drivers for AMD ... or Dosdude1?

Try to open App Store and see what's the newer system you can download from your current system. You can try to find a an image of any system your machine can run officially.

well, that is the problem, app store says there are no updates for this machine. My 8 year old son got this mac from a friend of mine, he wants to use it to program his own games with the programm gamemaker 2, but it won't install because of the old OS. I am not a mac user, so I need some help

Open App Store and install El Capitan first.

Sucessfully installed HS on my early 2008 17" MBP after putting in a new Samsung 850 Evo SSD.
I'm rather late to the game and just finished reading all 101! pages of this thread after 3 days finally...

Thanks a lot to all who contributed to make this possible and especially to Dosdude1 whose Patcher I used.

Related problems appeared on my iMac 9,1 after installing High Sierra..

You did not installed the patch? Install it and if you changed the software update url reset it!

I think I might be missing a part of what you said here. I ran the post-installation tools from my USB installer after installing High Sierra. What do you mean by changing the software update URL?
