Too early in the beta cycle unless you like troubleshooting. I'd wait until beta 4 or 5 before even considering it. (Some people are saying the changes in 10.13.4 are more like a 10.14a1 release so expect trouble on unsupported Macs.)

Hmm for some reason SIP was enabled so I disabled it. Also ran 'softwareupdate --clear-catalog'. Rebooted and still not showing up.

I have same form factor MacBook Pro 5,2 - a 17 inch variant.

Note, that I have an active developer account and hence I download developer betas, not "public betas."

I am also using dosdude1's patcher. (Thank you to all involved in the project)

One notable process I followed, last time I had "download update" issues, is to download the installation utility, "The Mac OS Developer Beta AccessUtility," which is available on apple developer website. Installing and launching this utility links to official (developer) download site.

I had no problem updating to official, final, release of 10.13.3 through developer link. Nor, did I encounter an issue updating to the 10.13.4. I am currently running 10.13.4 Beta (17E139j)

The only new issues I've noticed, so far, is that Preview mangles screen shots taken in .png format, and local word dictionary is missing (?)

Hope this information may help someone

I'm fine with running the offline combo update. Just strange its not showing up for me through the App Store.

edit: lol as soon as I start downloading the offline update it shows up in the App Store. How convenient.

Here's one for the experts...
My MacPro3,1 is running the latest High Sierra 10.13.3, fully patched with all dosdude1's goodies and a working Recovery HD. Everything is fine except... I just discovered I cannot boot into safe mode (press shift at startup) anymore. I get the dreaded circle-slash sign. Not a deal breaker but I do use it for trouble shooting on occasion.
Any thoughts on this?

Got a problem when installing on my 2008 mac pro; when booting of the drive with the patch the computer freezes during boot-up. Any idea @dosdude1 ?

I followed your instructions on the website and tried several times...

Installed the Nvidia GTX 285 card in my MacPro 3,1, ran the script to uninstall the AMD GPU patches. No more red.....

Is there a script to uninstall the SIP patch?
My new Nvidia web driver requires SIP enabled to install, if I try to enable SIP every time I reboot it gets disabled.
Plus I still suffer the other issue of no safe mode boots.
So until I get this fixed I'm back to running on Sierra which fortunately behaves itself.

The nVidia Web Driver doesn't require SIP to be enabled to install... My friend installed it just fine on his Mac Pro 3,1 patched on High Sierra... With SIP disabled. To fix the Safe Mode boot, just re-run the post-install tool (not that Safe Mode is actually useful... I've been repairing Macs for almost 10 years now, and not once have I had Safe Mode help with diagnosing or solving any issues). If you must, though, you can remove the SIP patch by executing the following in Terminal:

Code:
sudo rm -R /Library/Extensions/SIPManager.kext
sudo kextcache -system-caches
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

Try it and let us know how it goes! :)

I tried Version 10.13.4 on a test partition on my MacBookPro 5,2 (17-inch, Mid 2009)) and it did not finish the installation process........it failed halfway through the update. Seems many features such as mail, Appstore and Safari work OK, but I could not use the AFPS Boot to change to my main partition. Does anyone have fix to ensure the process runs through to completion??

I got the tip about SIP from this thread...
https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...e-sip-enabled-with-nvidia-web-driver.2102825/
For whatever reason when I install the latest drive I end up with a stalled progress bar plus a white pinwheel centered underneath it.
I'm hoping the suggestions in the thread I linked to might be of help.
I mean, you can remove the SIP patch with the commands I posted, enable SIP, install the Web Drivers, disable SIP again, then re-install the SIP Disabler Patch using the Patch Updater tool. See if that works.

After 3 failed attempts to install the web driver with SIP disabled, I followed the advice in the link I posted after removing the SIP patch via your instructions (thank you), enabled SIP and now have the latest Nvidia driver installed.
The installation of the web driver did require SIP to be enabled contrary to your comment...
"The nVidia Web Driver doesn't require SIP to be enabled to install"
Anyhow after re-disabling SIP all is well again and I'm back running High Sierra.:)
