Yes, people with the 4,1 upgraded to 5,1 firmware have been successful. The HS 10.13 betas 5 and 6 include the 5,1 firmware for APFS support. The firmware upgrade is run manually AFTER the HS 10.13 beta 5 or 6 download by pressing the power button for a long time until the firmware update long chime sounds. The firmware then updates and then the install proceeds I think.

This is precisely what I did, however it would not apparently install the firmware. I can't see the screen since I have a RX480 installed, but each time I've done this 10.12 starts back up and the install of 10.13 never get's further...

Just updated to what is called Public Beta 4 in the App Store.
System version changed from 17A330h to 17A344b

And right now after update, Appstore shows dev beta 6 for update
Seems to be the same...
?

Same here, mine doesn't show any updates either...
I got dev beta 5 to show up using macOS Developer Beta Access Utility. And I have macOS installed using dosdudes method. I haven't tried beta 6 yet tho
I kinda took a break on using Clover. Figuring out how to not get the firmware to install has exceeded my realm of knowledge. I tried everything I can think to do :-(

EDIT: When I went in a woke my iMac up Beta 6 was already there waiting for me.

Anyone else having trouble enabling TRIM support? I used dosdude1's patcher to upgrade, no problems or errors at all along the way. You can see my specs below. I have an aftermarket SSD in my iMac, and I have used the "trimforce" command in the past to allow TRIM support and that has always worked. Now it says successful when I run the command in Terminal, but upon rebooting it still shows no support. Any thoughts?

[doublepost=1502769238][/doublepost]Is that a stock Apple HD5870 option or an efi.rom flashed PC 5870?

My flashed PC HD 5870 won't boot HS either but it works fine under Sierra with Apple efi screen, etc.. Same for a flashed 6870 and flashed 4870. All work in Sierra but not HS.
Hello,

It's a stock Apple HD5870 and it works very well with Sierra. It's possible to boot with High Sierra in safe mode.

Yes. I see the same thing too. A Safe boot allows my efi flashed 5870 and even an RX 460 to reach the 10.13 desktop but no accelerated video so useless in real world.

Since a Safe boot works, the problem has to be due to a GPU driver kext but I can't find a fix so we have to rely/wait on Apple. In the case of the RX 460 not booting, I think the problem is in the AMDRadeonX4000GL driver bundle. One thing is for sure, support for old Mac Pro models is low on Apple bugfix priority list.

Please check Apple's forums first: https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/83522 anything that does not work on real macs will not work for us either.

sudo trimforce enable no longer works at present

You're correct. The command line still runs, but the result no longer produces enable Trim support in HS. Sierra and previous still can be enabled this way.

Can someone confirm that the app "AUSEnabler" is no longer recommended or needed.
I'm having some difficulty getting my High Sierra public Beta installation to update and find the available information somewhat confusing.

Yeah, I believe AUSEnabler only works with Sierra (not 100% sure, but I don't believe Foxlet's server has been updated for High Sierra). It is recommended that you use @Czo's patch, which can be applied using the script found here, or by installing it from the Patch Updater tool if you have that installed.

Thank you, again....

Has anyone managed to score the public Beta5 yet. I see that Dev Beta6 has been out for a few days now and usually the public Beta minus 1 version# follows shortly.

Well I finally got around to try High Sierra Beta Developer 6 on my Mac mini late 2009 with swapped WIFI card and everything works fine!

I keep getting these errors... Any idea? If tried reformatie multiple times.View attachment 713339

I got the same errors with the latest version of dosdude1’s patcher (tried with Dev. Beta 6 and PB 5). With the older version v1.0.2 of the patcher it then successfully created a bootable flash drive.
