Even with the entire IO80211Family replaced? Then why does the one from that website work?

What are the missing symbols? (You could PM me if this is getting too off topic).

Even more off topic: I'm 90% done with patching the X3100(finally!!!) driver to load in 10.8, 10.9 and maybe later 10.10, *without* replacing any part of OpenGL.framework. can you test it when I'm done?
Just tested the IO80211Family.kext from 10.11.5 in Sierra, and this is what I get when attempting to load it (or any of its plugin kexts):
Code:

I installed High Sierra DP2 with Dosdude's Patcher on my Mac Pro 2008 equiped with an ATI radeon HD5870. I still can not boot normally. I have several WindowServer crash report in the logs directory.
Termination Signal: Illegal instruction: 4
Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0x4
Terminating Process: exc handler [0]

The good news is that I was able to boot in Safe mode. But I don't know how to sovle my problem. Any ideas?

It seems that the upgrade bug that affected APFS boot also affects HFS installations in that case.

Do you think, from High Sierra the recovery partition is mandatory?! I am removed it every time when noticed it is exists (it's useless). On my system, securityd is crashing with SIGILL when the upgrade process telling me the remaining time is 15-17 minuntes. I am also found lots of crashes with SIGILL. Maybe, this is the last release to support Core2. Anyone with supported Core 2 model can check the upgrade?

No, the recovery system isn't required, and on APFS Macs it is technically empty. Outside of having to start Stage 2 via alternative means, I didn't see any crashes during the upgrade. This machine runs on a Core 2 Duo, and I wouldn't imagine it would be phased out randomly since this CPU family is still used on supported machines.

Does anyone have access to the Full Installer of Beta 2?

Apparently it comes as a Delta update and Full DMG file.

macOS doesn't ship in a flat disk image... the disk image distributed to developers only displays the beta entry in the App Store (while enabling Feedback entitlements), but doesn't contain the actual install media bundle. That bundle has been updated and you can get it from the App Store.

I haven't set up a Beta 2 High Sierra machine on HFS+, so I'll be a little while before I get to pushing a workaround.

@fischersd With developer beta 2, MacBookPro4,1 gets back it's multitouch capabilities, so everything works like a charm.
Thanks for that!! I'm gonna hold off until the public beta before I gamble again (it messed up my iCloud credentials, breaking iMessage on me with DP1) - I'll feel a little more comfortable with a few more builds under their belt before trying it again. :) Think it's likely a "mixed mode" race condition - having devices on iOS 10 & Sierra as well as High Sierra and/or iOS 11 with the same iCloud account.

I'll see if there's any relief for the MB5,2 at that time as well.

Can anyone running High Sierra beta check what versions of PHP and Apache does it ship with?

To check PHP version:
Code:
php -v

To check Apache version:
Code:
httpd -v

Thanks in advance :).

Same problem here, with Mac Pro 3,1 and ATI Radeon HD 5770. Can only boot in safe mode.

Also tried @foxlet method, but when booted to install from pendrive it downloaded El Crapitain instead of install High Sierra.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Here what I tested so far:

HS DP1 and DP2 installed with Dosdude patcher => boot partially until successive windowserver crash
HS DP1 and DP2 installed with Dosdude patcher and boot in safe mode => boot normally
HS DP1 installed with foxlet Newcore ver. 0.1 => boot partially until successive windowserver crash
HS DP1 installed with foxlet Newcore ver. 0.1 and boot in safe mode => Unable to boot

I'm not sure what would be causing that, as High Sierra boots fine on my Mid-2010 Mac Pro 5,1 with an EFI flashed PC Radeon HD 5870, even after applying the necessary patches for unsupported Macs on the volume (I don't have a Mac Pro 3,1 to test on, unfortunately)... Is your HD 5870/5770 flashed, or is it a stock Apple card? Or is it an unflashed PC card?

Only the CPU can cause SIGILL. Maybe, Apple using some SSE4.2 or CMPXCHG with 5xxx Radeon driver. Can anyone check MacPro3,1 with 4xxx Radeon (because of iMac 2009 still using Penryn and 4xxx Radeon)?

Hello Dosdude1,

This is a video card I bought from the Apple website several years ago. The video card is working well under Sierra 10.12.6 (16G18a).

Regards,
