High Sierra latest beta (10.13.2 Beta 1 - 17C60c)

I've been testing the latest betas of HS on my MBP5,5.
I currently have 10.13.1 beta (17B46a).

AppStore is showing (1) update available. But I can't seem to download and restart my mac.

From terminal:

sudo softwareupdate -l

Software Update Tool
Finding available software
Software Update found the following new or updated software:
* macOS High Sierra Developer Beta-1
macOS High Sierra Developer Beta (1), 2978865K [recommended] [restart]
* iTunesXPatch-12.7.1
iTunes (12.7.1), 185080K [recommended]

I was thinking of downloading from an available site and using dosdude1's HS patcher to install for my unsupported mac.
Do you folks are aware of any sites I could download the beta from? Or better yet, Dosdude1, can you provide an option to your patcher to choose between the general and/or beta release?

Sorry for the long post.

Best regards and ~Mahalo~

I was able to successfully download and install the HS beta update on my unsupported mbp.

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,5
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.26 GHz

System Version: macOS 10.13.2 (17C60c)
Kernel Version: Darwin 17.3.0

For those of you who use Terminal, here's the command I used to do the steps.

sudo sh -c "softwareupdate -ia && reboot"

Finding available software
Downloaded macOS High Sierra Developer Beta
Installing macOS High Sierra Developer Beta
Done.

You have installed one or more updates that requires that you restart your
computer. Please restart immediately.

That's it. Mahalo.

After installing/Running Automation, from Onyx v3.8.8
All my issues have been resolved. Safari, Mail, App Store and iTunes working as expected.

Thank you

Having issues "repairing boot disk" as onyx is instructing me to do by "command R" or holding the "option" key at startup after the chime, and until the apple logo.

i cant seem to get into the disk utility before OSX boots, which i think will allow me to use disk utility to "repair boot disk" as it is not currently being used?

It there a way to summon "Disk Utility" at/before boot if the "Command R" does not invoke Disk Utility?

MP3,1
OSX10.13.1
Safari, Mai, app store does not work as others are reporting

What's most likely here is that your hard disk is failing. You can repair the disk by booting off your patched USB drive and running Disk Utility from there, however 9 times out of 10, a disk that macOS says needs to be repaired is physically failing, and should not be used any longer. I'd recommend you back up any important data, and get a new hard disk (or, more optimally, an SSD).

Help needed please. I have a MacPro 3,1 which was successfully updated to 10.13.1 HFS+ on a Samsung 850 Pro SSD in Apricorn PCiE card. Everything was running well I could never get the dosdude’s tool to convert the drive to APFS while in the Apricorn. I placed the SSD in one of the Sata slots and successfully converted the drive to APFS. I ran the post install tool while in the Sata slot, and it all worked. Booted onto 10.13.1 on APFS while in the Sata slot. I then put the SSD back into the Apricorn card and rebooted, but got an error Boot file not found, exiting. I reran the post install tool twice, once without cache rebuild and once with, but same error both times. What else can I do short of doing a clean install (which it was originally)? I do have a full backup but would prefer not to have to resort to a clean install.
Well I tried a variety of approaches to get the SSD to boot while in the Apricorn PCI card but always got the error "Boot file not found, exiting" message, even after removing all the SATA drives. Had to wipe and reinstall off my CCC backup, which went flawlessly. So back in HFS+ again.

A question especially for @nekton1 and @roziek, I read earlier in this thread where you talked about the Sonnet Tempo PCI card in the MacPro 3,1. Since apparently the Apricorn card will not boot into APFS, will the Tempo card boot into APFS on the MacPro?

To confirm, to move to production 10.13.1, do the patches need to be reapplied, or is it, install from app store, reboot, and no other actions?

... the switching to the sierra graphics driver leads to sleep mode errors, no waking up to my macpro 3.1 with AMD 7970...

I just update successfully my Mac Pro 3,1 with a Nvidia GTX 680 via the AppStore and Safari, App Store and everything I tested is working OK. No problems yet.

No graphics glitch for you with GTX680? I have graphics glitch with GT730. Which graphics drivers are you using? The OSX default or Nvidia web drivers?

No problems here with Sonnet Tempo PCIe.

I upgraded to 13.1 on my Mac Pro3,1 and now all I get when I start up is a white screen. I've tried to Command+Option+P+R, Safe Boot with Shift Key, neither solved the issue. Any suggestions? I can't seem to see my USB drive with DosDude's tool on it when I restart and hold Option.

Are you booting off the USB when you do so?

Hmm trying to boot a patched installer on a MBP (late 2008) and I am stuck on Start ReadKernelCache (in verbose mode) for a while before it reboots itself. This is with an installer downloaded using the tool itself. I am able to boot this USB drive on a supported Mac without any issues.

I've recreated the disk several times. Made sure SIP is disabled. Anyone else experiencing this? It seems to be a very straightforward process for everyone else.

Updated mid 2009 iMac to 10.13.1 through the App Store. had to re-run a script to fix the screen brightness adjustment. iPhone X page still has the graphical glitch. Everything else works great.
What's this script you're referring to? My brightness buttons aren't working (Early 2011 Macbook Pro 15").

Mac Pro 3,1 with 5770 here.

I tried to update to 10.13.1 normally through the App Store but got stuck at 90% like an earlier poster. My solution was booting from my High Sierra + dosdude1 USB stick and doing the post-install again. After that I could boot into 10.13.1, which at first had no GPU acceleration. This was promptly handled by the AMD Video Card Patch through the Patch Updater.

All in all I am very impressed by your work, @dosdude1!

Can explain in a more user-friendly manner? I don't have graphics acceleration also, how do you fix that?

I was booting off my internal SSD with 13.1 on it. I've restored back to 13.0. I may try again when 13.2 comes out. At least I know Time Machine works.

Open the Patch Updater app located in /Applications/Utilities, click "View installed Updates", and re-install the AMD Video Card Patch (right click and select "re-install").

Just an informational post:

MacBook Pro 5,2 (Mid 2009, 17 Inch) with a "hybrid" HDD drive, running in APFS format.

Updated to 10.13.2 Beta (17C60c) via apple store mechanism. Took a while to install, followed by what looked like 2 reboots. No reapplication of Post Instal patch was necessary, other than using Patcher Updater to reapply Night Shift patch to regain that function; fully operational otherwise.

Hope this may be of help.

before doing a stupidity. Can we upgrade to 10.3.1 if yes how ? in the app store I don't see any update inly for Sierra 10.12.5

I have a macbook pro mid 2009 with High Sierra

@dosdude1 Sorry for this, slightly off topic … but … how can I disable the launch agent checking whether SIP is enabled?
thanks for your work
It's not recommended that you do so if running High Sierra on an unsupported machine (as running with SIP WILL cause issues, as the message says), but if you want to remove it, you can run "sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.dd1.SIPLD.plist" in Terminal.
