Could not install onto external SSD.
Tried three times
  1. Clean install using installer app
  2. Clean install using bootable installer
  3. Clean install of macOS 11.5 ßeta onto the SSD, then upgrade.
None of them worked. Started the installation, then after about 20 mins. just froze. I waited up to an hour for more movement, but ended up just force-powering down.

27" iMac, Late 2015, 17,1.

Ok, I give up with this version. I cannot install it onto an internal drive either.

So much for late 2015 iMacs being supported...

You should try my method. I installed it on a 500gb WD ssd without any problems whatsoever. But I have an Intel Macbook pro, Not a M1.
1_ install Mojave on the ssd
2_ boot from the ssd and install the latest Mojave update and security update
3_ Restarted from the ssd and install the developer profile.
4_ You will now see the Monterey beta in the system prefs, and you can install it.

As you can see from my third try, I did an update install, but from macOS 11.5 Big Sur, not Mojave.
I will wait until the next beta version and try again.
I have lodged a feedback report with Apple.

Very briefly tested:

* Sublime Text (4107)
* GitHub Desktop (just updated to 2.8.3)
* Visual Studio Code (1.56.2, just updated to 1.57.0, both work)

* Reunion (13.0)

All seems to work as expected. :)

Safari Technology Preview doesn't work. It says it requires macOS 11 or higher and I'm on macOS 12. Someone on the coding team needs to learn basic math.

This happened with the Big Sur betas too.

Why would you want to run it anyway, it's technically an older version now?

Tech Preview is significantly smoother than vanilla Safari on Big Sur.
On Monterey I think they just took normal Safari and changed the UI, so running the Tech Preview will still be better when it comes out with the new UI.

I'm not sure they have; I was running the Tech Preview on Big Sur because of a bug in the stable version and that bug isn't present in Monterey

Logitech's Logi Options and Logi Options+ are working 🙂

Has anyone tried Skim, BibDesk, Devonthink 3 Pro, and/or Filemaker 16?

Also Global Connect VPN?

somewhere
f5 / BIG-IP VPN is stuck on "Checking Client" when trying to connect :| (iCloud Private Relay turned off in both iCloud and Network settings)
I have the Big-IP Edge Client version 7211.2021.0107.1 here, no problem connecting. I didn't add any iCloud or Apple ID on this MacBook Air.
