macOS Monterey Working/Not Working Apps

Safari Technology Preview doesn't work. It says it requires macOS 11 or higher and I'm on macOS 12. Someone on the coding team needs to learn basic math.

This happened with the Big Sur betas too.

Why would you want to run it anyway, it's technically an older version now?

I can run safari 14 from my Big Sur drive in Monterey but the UI looks like safari v15

App Store or Standalone version? App Store version should work but standalone version might not since they are different even though they are the same app. The App Store version has to be at Apple's sandboxing standards....

thanks both. I had failed to update for a while. And it was the standalone version. All good now.

I am getting computer with hanging and crashing when using PIA. Better maybe with OpenVPN rather than Wireguard.

DEVONthink Pro 3 seems fine.

Can confirm that Steam is not working on MacOS Monterey preview build. It launches at first, but then it will crash after the first ~10 minutes of use. After crashing it won't open at all until you restart the computer. Very frustrating because you cannot launch a game without launching Steam and this made impossible for me to play Civilization 6, for example.

no issues at all here with steam or any of my steam games,

i wonder what the difference is

Having had problems (hangs or black screen) with the Private Internet Access app, I changed to Viscosity. Viscosity works well to the PIA servers.

I have the Big-IP Edge Client version 7211.2021.0107.1 here, no problem connecting. I didn't add any iCloud or Apple ID on this MacBook Air.

Right. 7.1.8.3 supports macOS Catalina (10.15) and macOS Mojave (10.14) according to f5. Hopefully they have 7.1.9.9 Update 1 or at least 7.2.1.

Safari can not open google.com and mail.google.com, while I can open it in Firefox. But there is a problem also in Firefox, I can not save attachment. Nothing happened after I click OK.

LaunchControl - fails to start
App Cleaner & Uninstaller - gracefully exits saying not ready for macOS 12
Guessing that fails include Onyx and Tinker Tool

Ok I installed some updates with MAU and I am now past this.

Bizarrely the problem was finding out how to launch MAU without being able to get to the Help Menu (its in /Library/Application Support/Microsoft)

MAU is awful, which is why I switched to the App Store versions of Office Apps and now that Edge updates without MAU I've completely removed it now
