Not working:

macFUSE
Virtualization.framework w/ Rosetta (breaks all Rosetta-reliant functionality provided by Virtualization.framework, including Linux VMs in Parallels with Rosetta enabled, as well as running x86-64 Docker containers using OrbStack or Docker Desktop)
LucidLink
Suite Studios

EDIT: OrbStack has put out an update which fixes this for their software at least. Parallels probably won't put out an update like this until closer to Sequoia's release though.

Just creating a handy Wiki thread for folks to update and identify which apps are working (or not working) in the first developer beta.

  • Proton Drive (It will install and authenticate but cannot pull in the encrypted files). Work around = use web interface. I notified the Proton dev team via their feedback forms
  • Zoom is working, but screen sharing seems to be broken. Starts the screenshare paused and cannot resume it

Please consider the risks before installing developer beta software.
Sibelius 2024.3.1 works.

I almost didn't believe the reports in this thread until I saw it for myself.
Unbelievably, every application in my Mac works after updating to Sequoia.
I did not clean install. This was straight from Sonoma:

Working:

Adobe Acrobat Pro 2022
AltTab ( does not detect the new Password app yet when switching to that app )
AppCleaner
Amphetamine
Bartender 5 ( v5.0.49 - Pre-sellout )
BlackMagic SpeedTest
Brave Browser
Crossover

Shottr ( v1.5.3 - Pre telemetry )

This is the first MacOS in a long time that all apps, even the ones that usually break stuff ( like Little Snitch and Parallels ) required no updates at all.

Using marcy for my clipboard manager, it won't show my clipboard history when I use the key combo I have setup, worked before the update. I can open the app in finder to see the clipboard history. Same with Xnip, can't use the key combo to take cropped screenshots. Both of these I use the option key + another key to use, both worked prior to the update. Going to notify the devs as well.

Has anybody tried if Geforce Now works properly? What about Steermouse?
Edit: Also interested in Aerospace tiling window manager.

Edited for DB5
No-Goes:
Audacity 3.5.1 crashes on launch (3.6 cannot be verified)
3.6.1 working
Garmin Express 7.22.1 cannot connect with background services
Now working

Localhost/Web Server apps like Mamp Pro, Mamp, Indigo & Xampp DO NOT work. Not sure of it's a bug or change but the apache server will not start. You get an error message on all 3 (I am usually a Mamp user but tried others thinking it was just a single app bug).
My Apache works via MAMP Pro, so you might need to troubleshoot a bit? I may have some custom configs.

Zoom screen sharing is borked for me. Does it work for you?

Zoom Meeting works well except for:
1. I cannot share apps or windows - only sharing my entire desktop works.
2. Every time I join wearing my APP2, I am told I sound like Mickey Mouse. When I leave and rejoin, I sound "normal"

I do but not on a Mac running Sequoia—perhaps tomorrow
OK, Mullvad installed without problems and seems to run OK BUT although I am apparently connected to a secure server in London, BBC iPlayer detects that I am not in the UK. Tried clearing browser cookies and restarting but same problem. Reported to Mullvad devs.

Mamp pro is different than Mamp. Mamp is the free version. Also we may have already figured it out. Mamp pro asks for permission for background where Mamp doesn't. It has to do with the new stricter SIP/Application Support settings. I've already talked to Mamp support about it, unfortunately no fix is coming until the fall. As I said Indigo, Xampp are having the same issue and someone posted on Reddit about another app having the same issue with apache.
The NGINX part of Mamp works without issue. This is just affecting apache. I figured it out after installing the Mamp Pro trial and it worked but it also shows in Settings - Login items & Extensions - Allow In Background. Once you uninstall Mamp Pro and use the free version only, it disappears from the settings.
The error I get is 'Apache couldn't be started. Please check your MAMP installation and configuration.'. And in the log it's an error 'dyld[6791]: Assertion failed: (this->magic == kMagic), function isDelayInit, file Loader.cpp, line 464.'.
I tried both Indigo & Xampp and they both get error 6 which Indigo said is a fatal error.
Some of these apps are going to have to be updated for the new security features unless it's a bug on Apple's end. But Mamp pro seems to work, just not Mamp (free Version).

Just tried Mullvad on Sonoma Mac and same problem so it may be BBC iPlayer has sussed out Mullvad London servers. Reported to Mullvad.
