Well, that's an embuggerance ---

I had previously backed the drive to an external HDD when it was under Sequoia. All worked well.
I upgraded the drive to Tahoe, and it continued the backups, but it duplicated everything.
So, I removed the old backup and tried to set up a new backup, and got the above message.

Guys, but is it true there is no more "launchpad"? I was just using it through hot corners and I could put all my fav apps in the very first page... I have read somewhere on MacOS 26 it has turned into an app like the old system settings on old OS... really?

It's called Apps now and is also integrated into Spotlight.

Maybe try this or another alternative:

I am always still confused when I see this in my Dock... The first two days I always wondered what it might be, before closing it.

This is a more simple and cleaner alternative. You can decide how big the window is and what apps are in there. It's at first launch empty and I was able to drag all my apps just into it at once. You can put only your favorite apps in there.

Sorry..didn’t notice this and have been traveling, but window position has been maximized and they now all touch and take the whole screen…no gaps!

And in the pic below, you can see the revised softer radius between the Apple app on the lower right with the older windows (Microsoft and Firefox).

Guessing the radius will increase on all windows by or on release in September.

This is odd. I thought WindowServer dictates how every window will look?

The radius depends on the window style. So no, windows won't have the same corners even in the future.

Really? But they always have as far as I’ve noticed…and based on my WhatsApp experience, that app isn’t as updated and won’t even join without a gap like the others.

The radius doesn’t bother me…just glad windows touch and fill the screen.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already but Apple improved CLI rendering in Terminal.

Still doesn't match up to other apps like Ghostty, Warp, or probably iTerm2. Still an improvement though. The default background now is also dark which is more fashionable for a terminal.

Ok, giving up on Tahoe for the time being.
Twice, now, it has borked* the firmware when switching from Tahoe back to Sequoia, and I have had to revive it from my other Mac.
This also happened with various betas in 15.4, and I had to wait till the final version before I could use it.

* technical term...

I have gone back and forth with no issue on my 14,8 Mac Pro.

Yeah... :(

Mostly the same problem with my M4 Mac mini here... I do manage to install the beta on a usb drive (I tried 2 different ones, a usb 3.0 and usb 3.2 drives respectively), run the OOBE up to account creation ( I little slow, but at the same time, an expected behaviour since it's working from a usb drive), then after a while, it becomes a black screen with only the cursor, hanging there.

Rebooting from the boot picker on to the internal drive does not work and still boots on to the external drive that has the beta on (hanging again with only the cursor on a black screen). Removing the external drive before powering on my Mac makes my Mac boot loop and I can't even access the boot picker! (I get no screen and it is shutting down after a while pressing the power button in hope of getting the boot picker)

The only way to save it is to revive the Mac mini from another computer...

I wonder what is the root cause of that problem? Anyone got the same problem?
