you want to see if they removed those ugly shadows 😄Can someone reproduce this Finder screenshot from beta 1 in beta 2 and upload the result?

That looks nice. I like how the icons have subtle borders also. It's like a tiny touch of skeuomorphism. edit: This is minor but the System Settings icon is a big downgrade from the one in Sequoia. Looks very flat and lifeless. The dock feels more glassy.
Yes 😅 that Finder screenshot looks like a new developer building a web app for the first time, going crazy with the CSS drop shadow and border radius. My guess is someone was in a huge rush to get this out for WWDC...you want to see if they removed those ugly shadows 😄
Only the search has been updated. Can someone reproduce this Finder screenshot from beta 1 in beta 2 and upload the result?

It’s new but is it really needed…Not 100% sure if this is new, but there's an option to bring back the menu bar background. Though, apparently it is not as tall as it was before, breaking the perfect 16:10 aspect ratio under it.

I wish they reduce them.you want to see if they removed those ugly shadows 😄
Yes, but they shouldn't break the 16:10 aspect ratio under it. Not sure why they did it like this. It’s new but is it really needed…
Beta 2: Please feel free to upgrade to a new Mac at your earliest convenience. On my M1 Macbook Pro it appears that the Liquid Glass Touchbar Changes have been reverted. :/View attachment 2522533
Unfortunately only the icon. The finder UI still looks awful.
I agree. Anyone re-enabling it is just doing it to be stubborn. It’s miles better without the background and it works great on every type of background I’ve tried. It’s new but is it really needed…
Thank goodness this is a bug. I saw the black bars and thought "who the hell approved this design".Wow Safari is hideous with the black bars under the tabs, they could have just made it a lighter color. And it still does nothing for me as I still have trouble knowing what tab I'm on. A single bar under the active tab, how are we not thinking of this instead of 10 black bars under the tabs.. 💀
I prefer compact tabs still.
Edit: Apparently it's a bug.
There are also teeny weeny bars under pinned tabs, which look even sillier.Wow Safari is hideous with the black bars under the tabs, they could have just made it a lighter color. Not a fan of this... slows down or speeds up the current playing song to match (like it implies) but this sounds horrible for a normal playlist... would be good for playlists comprised of a single genre.. turned it off quickly..
Strongly disagree.it's a horrible new UI, transparency and visual effects abuse everywhere, bad choice of colors (for everything that's not translucent yet). fat toolbar & icons.. poor readability, UI elements trying to blend together making it hard to see where one another starts and ends, everything is bad. beta2 didn't help much but confirmed the poor direction apple did choose. it's a continuation, a variation in horror since bigsur. it's criminal sabotage i tell you.
the only thing that mitigate a bit this disaster is setting accessibility option 'increase contrast'.
it's still bad, but less transparency and blending widgets and other annoyances makes it a little bit better.
macOS is being forcibly mutated into cookOS and it's crap.
and FFS, someone tell apple that UIs that transparent panels and backgrounds shount not stack on top of each other. otherwise it will look like spaghetti mess, like tahoe.
come on people are making fun of it everywhere.. saying it looks like windows vista and reheated poor ideas from a decade ago that were even abandonned by m$windows itself.Strongly disagree.
