I have quite a lot of WindowServer crashes since one of the Ventura betas and they still occur with the final version.

This is from the logs

2022-10-27 11:00:10.198174+0200 0xafbb2 Fault 0x2c73c1 35423 14 WindowServer: (QuartzCore) [com.apple.coreanimation:WindowServer] kIOMFBMaxCompressedSizeInBytes missing!

Anyone else having this? Is there something I can do?
I made a USB installer and then booted to that and installed the final release over itself. I was getting 5-10 WindowsServer crashes a day seemingly at random.

I can still seem to crash macOS when scrolling thru the Notification Area, though.
(I'm on a 2020 M1 MBP 16GB/2TB model)

By the way, the weird thing upon installing the official version & replacing the RC/Beta was that with the beta the machine worked perfectly fine, and with the official release I had multiple brutal crashes (Setapp, Mail, Adobe Desk, Safari, you name it...). A couple of reboots later it seems to have caught up, but that was ... unsettling. I cannot stress that despite my love for all things Apple I feel more and more like OSX is coming close to a Vista-Moment.

RC2 and the "Official Release" were the same. Build 22A380.

Getting a flickering internal display when playing video on an attached external monitor.
Noticed it during the final beta and it seems it’s come back.

Filed under FB11723987 in case anyone has the issue as well and wants to reference it.

I’m reticent to get back on the beta train with Ventura 13.1…

I just added to the Wikipost about the naming inconsistencies for "Noise Cancellation" in AirPods Pro. In various places under Settings > AirPods Pro, the following terms are used: Noise Control, Noise Cancellation, Cancellation (or something like that).

I can't believe this was either not noticed or not fixed before general release! A big part of Apple products is the UI experience. How can something as glaring and ugly as this be put to general release? LOL.

I started getting this issue on Tuesday after installing the released version, I gave a clean install a go, and it didn't fix the issue. Internal display is flickering intermittently when playing videos on the external display.

I have filed a feedback with the case ID FB11721217, if anyone want to reference my case too.

Extremely annoying, considering going back to macOS Monterey for now, or trying out Ventura 13.1 PB.

A Command 4 screenshot no longer opens in “Annotate” or “Draw” mode. It requires an extra click to get to the drawing tools.

Is anyone else getting a LONG list of "Background Items Added" notifications with every restart? Everything from KensingtonWorksHelper to FrontendAgent to OutlookPluginAgent etc. etc. I think they're related to all my login items—but I never got notifications before.

are you getting the same ones repeatedly, or just once? i got a few of those, but they have not re-appeared...

There’s a process named “Family” that shows up periodically and is always “not responding”. No idea what it is, but it’s new in Ventura.

Looks like it’s related to iCloud Family sharing based on how the icon looks.

Same ones. Over a dozen. Every time I restart.

I get that with just the one app - Clipy.

It's to do with the fact it checks and registers itself each time it starts and according to their forums, it's something they need to do in a future release to adapt to Ventura's new way of working. I suspect your apps have the same issue.

Theoretically, an app pops up once, you let it register, and it never warns you again.

This thread would be more useful if everyone stated what computer they are using when errors are found. There are bound to be issues that affect Intel and Apple chips differently.

Y'all each might want to set up a signature with system specs
I've got a 2020 M1 MBP 16GB/2TB Model. I've found from my own experiences, along with a few others here, the original M1 MBP's & Airs have been seeing some kernel panics especially on the later Ventura betas and initial RC build.

24-hour clock not working for anyone else even though it's on in settings? I get the 24-hour clock on my Lock Screen, but after logging in, I'm stuck on the 12-hour clock
Working for me. It’s my default clock setting, so it was already selected before the upgrade and seems to have transferred over.

Using Safari after the update when I try to edit my comment the page jumps far away and I can't edit the comment.

Technically not a bug but I consider the new system settings folder sidebar view to be far worse and more difficult to use than the old icons. Apple should have left it as an option to have icon view

As someone who has used iPhone for 10 years but only got a Mac this year, I must say I much prefer this version, as it feels intuitive with iOS.

I wonder if the icon view from Monterey could be recreated, referencing the applications that makeup System Settings...

....and as someone who's used a Mac and an iPhone since 2007, I disagree. It sure does look like it should be, though, right? Considering how much it LOOKS like the Settings on an iPhone? Too bad it's all just eye candy.

I reported the following via Feedback Assistant (Thanks to someone who reminded that there is this application! I haven't used it since 2013/4 when I was actively helping to beta test.)

I use my Apple Watch to unlock my MacBook Pro. When the laptop prompts my Watch to login, the Watch appropriately displays the right icon.

When Mac applications, such as 1Password and System Settings, request my Watch to unlock the wrong icon is displayed on the Watch (see file: wrongicon.png). The icon displayed is that of an old style white iMac. I don’t own an iMac. The only computer requesting the Watch to issue an unlock command is my MacBook Pro.

The icon I expect to be displayed in all of these scenarios is one that actually represents my computer, a MacBook Pro.
