PULSE is 2.0 slot, Nitro+ is the 2.2 slot wide model.

Ok, thx for the correction, but let's be honest, it's not a 2.0 slots PCIe card. The backplate screws and the fans are out/over of the 2.0 slot dimensions and you can't have a full height PCIe card next to it.

A lot of people is asking how to get 140.0.0.0.0. It's not easy to the uninitiated but is doable.

The risk of bricking your Mac Pro is all yours.

1) Download the macOSUpd10.14.3.RecoveryHDUpdate.pkg from Apple SUCatalog (in the future, search the SUCatalog for the most recent RecoveryUpdate) link updated to 10.14.3
2) Open macOSUpd10.14.3.RecoveryHDUpdate.pkg with Pacifist and extract the RecoveryHDMeta.dmg
3) Open RecoveryHDMeta.dmg with Pacifist, go to the Firmware folder and extract it to your desktop.
4) Replace the Firmware folder of your Mojave installer with the one you saved on your desktop.
5) Open the Mojave installer, will ask you to upgrade the firmware.

I doubt cMP users will create any amount of demand that would affect the market. Macs in general are a small percentage of the market. cMPs are a small percentage of total Macs. A small percentage of cMP users will apply the update, at least right away. A small percentage of those will go out and buy a new NVMe drive.

Yeah, but those parts you are referencing are unique to cMPs. NVMe drives are not.

For a single drive, I wouldn’t buy anything other than the Angelbird Wings, or kryoM2.

These are really nice carriers. I had the Angelbird for a very short time and that is one nicely made piece of hardware.

No, it’s not, you have to use a spacer or the RX-580 fan will colide with the backside of SSD7101A.

A friend put 4 spacers with lots of glue - then I asked him why he didn’t just inverted the cards. Imagine his face when he got it…

This is pretty much how I do it as well.

1) Download the macOSUpd10.14.1.RecoveryHDUpdate.pkg (thanks MisterAndrew PM me the link. Just learnt how to search the SUCatalog. Will do it myself next time. Thanks tsialex posted the SUCatalog link, and of course, share all his findings)

2) Right click the file, choose "The Unarchiver.app to unzip it.

3) Inside the "macOSUpd10.14.1.RecoveryHDUpdate" folder, double click RecoveryHDMeta.dmg to mount it

4) Then double click BaseSystem.dmg to mount it.

5) Double click this "install macOS Mojave Beta.app" to trigger the firmware update.

6) Then just the usual stuff. Follow the on screen instruction, click shut down, wait 10s, press and hold power button until the long beep, release power button and wait for auto reboot. Anyway, as expected, this can be done with just the RX580, no Mac EFI GPU is required.

Yep, I just don't like to bent a card that is almost the price of the Mac Pro. It's insane to risk a $400+ card.

This is great news, but it almost gives me suspicions that something went awry with the MP7,1 project (might have to do with Intel's roadmap worries), and they're keeping the Pros happy by patching up the 5,1 for the time being. But them updating the BootROM of the 5,1 several times after Schiller apologized for the 6,1 makes it almost seem like Apple has begun to give a damn about Pros again. I guess we will see if that pans out.

I don't know anything about MP7,1 schedule, but Cupertino is updating the MP6,1 firmware too, 3 updates since 10.13.5.
