2.5 hours, a great amount of frustration, and 10000000 nuts and bolts later...

Aww i would love to just dive into that pool it looks sooo peaceful!

I should try to dig up a pic of when it was opened this spring. Nothing like lime green water with 3" of green foam on the top. Absolutely nasty.

Pools are nice, but they are too much maintenance. My neighbors pool doesn't have chlorine, it has copper ions instead. Its basically very little maintenance chemical wise. I find it makes the water taste horrendous and it makes your skin slimy.

Salt water pools are all the rage in my area at the moment. I've never swam in one, but the idea seems very appealing to me.

I don't think I would like that. It sounds like it would taste bad, hurt your eyes, and would make you sticky.

I think I'll stick with chlorine

and a pool cleaner

Its not that great....not to say its worse then any other pool(assuming its the same size, and depth) I like pools in general, and my friend has a salt water pool, and I was really excited to swim in it. I did, and kind of forgot about it. It wasn't anything to write home about..not much different then a chlorine based pool

Not like an ocean, no where near as salty.

Playing around with my phone when I got it, not the greatest pictures, but they work.

They are of my pool, back of my house.

I would suggest clicking on the picture, they don't look at good blown up. I think this was before I up the settings on my phone.

We have a salt water pool in the backyard and its great for maintenance. I hate caring for pools and this is a great way to go.

The way it was explained to me is that chlorine is generated through the salt ou add to the pump. Therefore, the pool is chlorinated but in a different way. We just add a few salt cubes to a special compartment in the pump and let it go.

I really like your fence!

Is it that aluminum rod iron looking stuff?

We were going to do that until we found it was going to be like $12,000 compared to $3000 or something for black chain link.

Howdya find the 800s? I nearly bought a pair second hand, but ended up getting some much older (and much cheaper) DM7s. Kinda more musical IMO but I never got to listen to some 800s through my system, only at the showroom...

i got them about a year after they were released. i was using the og 600 series prior to that.

i was running the 805's with a denon avr-4800 and rotel rb-1080 2 channel amp, but found the digital amps in my sony 7700es out performed the old setup. the funny thing is, the sony was a third of the price.

Yesterday my neighbor showed me his finished pool.

It is amazing. First off its a 20x40 heated pool that is gunite (sp?) with glass tile embedded making boarders. Then surrounding the pool, he has beautiful slate flooring (only downside it gets ridiculously hot, he'll figure it out though ;)). Then it surrounded by a really cool fence- looks like iron but made out of Al, even has the finials at the top. He also has really nice stone walls and landscaping.

To top it off he has the most amazing pool cover I have ever seen. it is recessed under the flooring around the pool. Turn a key and voila, the pool cover automatically covers the pool. I was like "wow".

here is a generic pic off the company's website
bluehaven4.jpg

It cold quite possibly be the most fun pool toy ever
