Has anyone officially reported this to Apple?

I’ve actually missed emails because of this.

Well, it seems to be sorted for me. I just ordered something on my laptop and within seconds my iPhone lit up with the confirmation email.

I will though keep and eye on this.

Now hopefully Apple sort out the reminders sync issue. Although. The fact that this has been ongoing for the last few years, I'm not gonna hold my breath!

Was your phone connected to power by any chance?

No, battery only. The problem returned though earlier today, for how long though I dont know as didn't have access to chance to properly check.

I've just downloaded the new beta so will see how that one goes and will feedback.

Just checking if anyone's Mail app has fixed itself or they've found a fix for it ...

Mail still isn’t downloading off of power in iOS 18.1.

My brother just reported that an update to iOS 18.1 did not fix his mail issue until he removed and recreated his account.

I’m on iOS 18.1. Against my better judgement in case something went wrong, I deleted my mail account, restarted the phone and added my mail account back. I’ll see if that makes a difference.

Since iOS 18, my “Delete Mail” no longer gets auto-deleted from the Trash folder on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. All the settings are correct, and I’ve even recreated the accounts. It used to work perfectly for a year.

Removing and re-adding my Mail account did not fix the problem. Mail still doesn’t download automatically if the phone isn’t charging.

He notified me this morning that it is no longer syncing unless he removes the account and recreates it. Apparently the issue still exists.

Still broken for me too on 18.1.

There's been two updates now and it's still not fixed.

I guess Apple are too busy fussing over AI to have the time to make sure existing basic functionality that people actually want/need still works.

Has 18.1 done anything whatsoever about the IMAP problem not syncing other devices when answering from iPhone or iPad, or the fact that attachments just say 'downloading' when it was instant with iOS17? Anyone?

Either I'm just plain lucky and am one of the few not having this issue, or I am getting the issue but just not noticing it!

If I'm not hooked up to power, my phone is sleeping, then the screen turns on and I have mail, does that mean I'm not having the issue?

I'm having the same issue with an IMAP email account that was provided by an ISP. Worked fine on iOS 17, but has been broken since upgrading to iOS 18/macOS 15. Webmail works fine, credentials are fine, I've verified the settings with the ISP. Getting a POSIX 61 error, and 18.1/15.1 actually seemed to make it worse by giving me "can't verify username and password" errors when I try deleting the account and adding it again. Again, the credentials work fine on the webmail for the account.

Guessing we won't see any fix until 18.2/15.2 at the earliest with the big Mail app revamp. Gmail, Outlook, and iCloud accounts are all working fine for me. I've reported it via the Feedback page.

It's infuriating that IMAP still hasn't been addressed as one of the most important things about being able to leave the desk and work out and about was the syncing to iPad iPhone and Mac. My ISP said, nope, it's Apple, contact them, like that'll sort it
