Here is something interesting, http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/18...uding-jamba-juice-and-office-max#post_2692365 that person said that Trader Joe's had nfc enabled on their new terminals, but Apple Pay wasn't working just yet. I'm sure Google Wallet would work at Trader Joe's, as its the same at Jersey Mike's Subs, Google Wallet works, but Apple Pay does not yet. But yeah if Trader Joe's would accept contactless that would be so amazing! :D

ive just used it once at a gas station in the store to buy some candy and gum. The frustrating part Ive found is trying to find places in my town that are apple pay ready. The gas station obviously wasn't listed as an apple pay partner.

Im curious if most convenience stores have it enabled. I wouldn't have thought the gas station would.

None of the vending machines nearby have it enabled either which is frustrating

The Trader Joe's near me just got new terminals, too - I was there with a friend and she tried Apple Pay ever-so-subtle-y (had her phone in her hand within a few inches of the terminal while also holding her cars) and the phone wasn't lighting up. They had the mx915 terminals there, so I suspect things are still being set up and configured.

As for Jersey Mike's, the one near me takes Apple Pay (I remember seeing it in Apple's materials, so I tried it) - they didn't realize they had the capability, but two of the people working there had iPhones and were excited they could offer it.

My local Trader Joe's doesn't have the MX915 yet, but the cashier had heard that they were upgrading their stuff. So I added Bag 'N Save & No Frills to the list as they now have the Verifone MX925 that have Contactless enabled on purpose and a cashier has seen it many times, and I'm pretty sure there was a lot of Apple Pay, this is in a techie area, so it makes sense and I'm sure all open Bag 'N Save and No Frills stores are getting it or have it now. Seems pretty much all SpartanNash stores seem to have Contactless enabled so I added Family Fare as well, as the company has been pro-Contactless for years. Also what card did you use in Apple Pay at Jersey Mike's Subs?

I've only used Apple Pay at Macy's, Jamba Juice, Sprout's, and Home Depot. The most flawless transaction was at Macy's. Home Depot and Sprouts were fairly smooth.

Jamba Juice was not smooth at all.

Trader Joe's near me just got brand new MX925's. Here's to hoping they turn on NFC soon!

The chip slot is still disabled in them though and the cashier said they have not had any formal training on them.

If it's like Walmart, corporate office just puts a quick notice on your register screen how to use it when it happens. No training lol!

For most this means clearing the message, start your day, and when a card errors out, fumble with the chip because it's a "new dangled chip card" or a tourist from another country.

One of my local Albertsons recently became Haggens and with the change they updated the POS system including the card readers. These are the newer style that Albertsons was already rolling out to support Chip and Pin but Haggen opted for the NFC model. When I asked the cashier they said that someone a few days ago had pulled out their iPhone and paid with it with no problems, so Haggen is rolling out NFC/Apple Pay. Pretty neat! Can't wait until my bank supports it.

Which location is this in? There's an Albertsons near me as well in the LA area that was going to be converted to a Haggen, so hoping this happens there as well!

Rancho Cucamonga. And the store is much nicer then Albertsons IMO. Just wish I was a bit closer to it.

The grocery chain HEB, just installed new terminals. They have the contact less logo displayed. So, I asked if Apple Pay worked at the checkout and the young clerk replied that it did. I placed my phone on the symbol and nothing lit up. I'm not sure if they don't support Apple Pay, or if it's not hooked up yet. I fear it's the former.

They have to run it like a regular card, which means they press a button like credit/debit, EFT before the antenna activates and Apple Pay can be used. Are the new ones this: http://www.eshcom.com/store/image?id=VFMX915 or http://ingenico.us/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/iSC250-General-Slide.jpg that? If the contactless logo is displayed on a screen then it should work unlike the old ones that had them at the top. Or maybe the system is not setup yet, its hard to know.

One can add Chick Fil A as a place to try Apple Pay now, they also got terminals. Before they didn't have terminals at all, and you had to hand the card to the cashier, now they have customer facing terminals. This image is from their Twitter, but a lot of CFAs near me have the terminals now, haven't tried Apple Pay on them yet. My fear is they only will turn on the Chip and PIN and not Apple Pay, Hope they turn on Apple Pay too.

I also saw that picture on their twitter as well, here is one from Facebook: https://scontent-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/h...=313ca903d00fd2a68d543602105006b2&oe=55DA335A I'd say that is mounted so tapping a phone wouldn't be so odd. They'd be stupid to turn it off as its the future, don't forget that the MX915 comes with it enabled by default, so they would have to turn it off on purpose. Many companies saying we're getting stuff for EMV cards usually means Apple Pay and Google Wallet support initially with EMV a bit down the road, unless your an MCX member who just turns the contactless off. Also Long John Silvers to install Ingenico customer facing equipment with contactless support, although probably not turned on right away. http://hospitalitytechnology.edgl.c...ploys-End-to-End-Secure-Payment-Solution99666 I'd say MCX can't stop this, and I think they will only lose out on money if they don't support it at some point.

I picked up an item at Home Depot today and used the self check out. Apple Pay used to work in this very store, but today the attendant says don't use the tap, swipe your card. Transaction did not go through.
Not sure if the nfc was down today or it's disabled at this store.

MasterCard?

I am going to retry CVS next week, I hope. The last time I posted and said it works, I had held the phone up to terminal and it activated and ask me if I wanted to use touch id. The terminals looked new and don't remember it doing that last time I checked. But, I had already paid cash. A couple days later, I thought I remembered having a terminal see my iPhone but not working. So, it may not have worked. Will try again and post results. Will change OP if needed.

So my RiteAid got new MX925's, NFC is on, and they display this on the screen!

Apple Pay still does not work credit/debit. My contactles card does not either, though I would imagine it won't be long until it is turned on again now.

I was able to use it at the store near me today (Amex though - I still think MasterCard and Home Depot is a no-go) - maybe your store was having a glitch?

Best Buy is now supporting Apple Pay in their app starting today and in stores later this year, I've heard summer from a BB employee, while others on the internet have said fall. https://corporate.bestbuy.com/apple...est-buy-app-coming-to-stores-later-this-year/ So I'm now very sure that CVS and Rite Aid will support it once again soon!

Nope, it's a Visa. Always worked there, but not that day. I haven't been back to try it out again.
The Albertson's one always work.
