Nope, it's a Visa. Always worked there, but not that day. I haven't been back to try it out again.
The Albertson's one always work.

Opposite for me, the Albertson's still doesn't work, but Home Depot works great with flying colors. Also the Home Depot here, Chip & PIN works too.

Chip and Pin works here now as well, with both Credit and Debit cards! (Much better than Walmart which i only doing Chin and Pin credit cards) AP MC still does not work, Visa/AMEX works fine.

Nice! Do debit cards run as Chip & PIN (over the debit networks?) or C&S over the credit networks?

Best Buy is now supporting Apple Pay in their app starting today and in stores later this year, I've heard summer from a BB employee, while others on the internet have said fall. https://corporate.bestbuy.com/apple...est-buy-app-coming-to-stores-later-this-year/ So I'm now very sure that CVS and Rite Aid will support it once again soon!

If it's true that BB is waiting for the exclusive MCX contract to expire I'd imagine CVS is doing the same. So there is hope for that...

Even though CVS has the wifi symbol now on the terminal where I shop, it did not take the AP. Did turn on and ask if wanted to though. But, said it can't accept contactless payments.

I hit them on Twitter and emailed again.

Glad Best Buy is joining Apple Pay

I can confirm NFC is disabled at Home Depot now. If you rap any card, Apple Pay, or Google Wallet. It says "card tap not accepted please swipe card". Chip and pin is active, NFC is now disabled. (Still says "Swipe, Tap, or Insert Card" and show the NFC logo and has the NFC antenna on)

I think it has to do with this half assed Chip & PIN support. When they work out the kinks it'll work I'm sure. Remember Apple Pay is a glorified contactless EMV card.

True, and you're probably right. Home Depot was doing EMV contactless with Visa and Amex, but the terminal tried to get EMV contactless with MasterCard from Apple Pay (as the cards and Google Wallet only support MSD contactless) and the payment processor doesn't support it. That's why only Apple Pay Mastcard declined and all other contactless master cards worked. The chip and pin support is not great alas ta not using MSR to detect Debit vs Credit and is sending all Chip cards as Debit. This means they are paying debit swipe rates for evrey chip transaction currently. (Walmart could do the same, but you know how they are with loosing money *cough MCX cough* so they would rather have only credit work and force swipe debit in order to save money currently) Once MSR support is fixed, NFC should be restored as well.

Rite Aid is the same way by me. They got new terminals a week or two ago and with the new terminals it shows the NFC symbol. So I tried to use AP and it looked like it was going to work (phone did its thing and showed the check mark) then after a minute the terminal said that it doesn't accept mobile payments at this time. Maybe next week it will work when they start their new rewards program.

The Home Depot near me finally seems to have disabled NFC (I used it a week ago with no trouble). I didn't necessarily get "card tap not accepted", just that it gave a generic error for assistance when I used Apple Pay (Amex) and although it seemed like the terminal read them, it didn't.

Albertson's in CA for me. It showed the amount with a debit card! It never did before with any store (home depot, panera, mcdonald's, walgreens, etc). This is from yesterday.

Natural Grocers now has the MX915!

So today I walked into a Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage and they had brand new MX915's and a new pos system, so I tried to tap the MX915 and it worked perfectly, now I just need some Apple Pay users to test it, as I only tested Google Wallet. It had no indication of supporting it at all, so I'm sure just like Big Lots they will turn it off, although it doesn't make sense to turn it off at all, as they are sort of like Whole Foods, you know kind of hip. I really hope they leave it on especially since I don't feel safe swiping my card there as they got hacked not that long ago.

Citibank started showing Apple Pay transaction history about a month ago. Hurry up Bank of America!!!

One can add Chick Fil A as a place to try Apple Pay now, they also got terminals. Before they didn't have terminals at all, and you had to hand the card to the cashier, now they have customer facing terminals. This image is from their Twitter, but a lot of CFAs near me have the terminals now, haven't tried Apple Pay on them yet. My fear is they only will turn on the Chip and PIN and not Apple Pay, Hope they turn on Apple Pay too.

I have tried AP on my local CFA's new terms and the NFC is not active.

I contacted Chick Fil A Cares (customer support) and asked for Apple Pay support in the new iPhone app for refilling their in app payment cards. Figured that would be a softer sell than in store. Looking to see them follow the Best Buy path and I hope the Target one. Got a nice reply covering both in app and in store payment, that said in effect that their plans are to look to enable as many ways to pay as possible to ease payment for customers. I feel hopeful that as the new terminal roll out is completed and the EMV requirements are met that mobile payments are on the agenda.

Since EMV comes in both contact and contactless forms, I'm sure when they turn on the chip slots they'll also turn on contactless. This seems to be the case for other businesses that turned the chip slot on (except Walmart).

Remember passing a phone or watch is a lot faster than responding to all the prompts a chip card asks you for. Quick service restaurants have every incentive to make it faster to pay.

Do any places have issues with payments sometimes not going through? For some reason at a certain whole foods location (Davis, CA) whenever I use Apple pay, the transaction sometimes does not go through. One of the employees told me "oh it only works about half of the time" and they need to reset the terminals. I am trying to see if this poor implementation is just limited to this location

A lot of the times it's because they hit the wrong button. A few tips:

-Always run Apple Pay transactions as credit, not debit. Even if it's a debit card. This pretty much makes it work most of the time.
-Make sure the terminal goes off as well, not just the phone or watch. You can move the phone or watch after the terminal says "processing"
-Make sure the terminal is on the "Please Slide Card" screen not the "Welcome to our store screen" or some splash animation detailing some upcoming 20% off sale.
-Not all the times will that contactless symbol be present. The only thing you can do is try Apple Pay anyway at these terminals, such as mom and pop stores.
-Make sure the card type is supported by the store. If the store doesn't take Amex, and Amex is what's in your phone it won't work.
-run it as credit
-run it as credit
-and finally run it as credit!!

Good tips! You should run as credit anyway, less chance for fraud liability being forced on the user and less chance of pin being stolen.

Went to Home Depot earlier today. Tried Apple Pay at the terminal. It said done and seemed to work but it then said to swipe the card on the terminal. The apple pay payment didnt go through and I had to swipe the card. Guess it hasnt been implemented yet. This was at the Hempstead, NY location.

I had the same thing in Freeport last weekend. I believe HD turned off contactless completely for now.
