Any gas stations that have NFC enabled at the pump yet? The MasterCard site is only showing the cash register icon for the ones in my immediate area and a few random areas within a couple hours drive.

I know this is not a help to you (seeing as you're in CA), but in the Midwest, Meijer's gas stations have NFC enabled on all the pumps and it works great with Apple Pay. I did read that Chevron is putting it on all their pumps in the future, so that might be more useful in your part of the country.

Hopefully Chevron brings that soon. I had to go inside to pay for gas today because their outdoor card readers are starting to have a harder and harder time reading my card (swipes fine inside and at other stores). I should have tapped when I was there but the clerk wanted to see ID, which made it easier to just swipe. :(

Has anyone tried contactless at the La Brea Tar Pits gift shop recently? I was there in November and they had the MX925's with the external Contactless antenna, but it was turned off. Also, can anyone confirm if the Lego Store is working with Apple Pay yet?

It worked at our Lego Store (Castleton Square Mall, Indianapolis) when I tried about 3 weeks ago...not sure if they've turned it on everywhere yet.

Nice it says "Please Swipe Card" on the screen so its turned on purpose, but I bet Google Wallet would have worked before. Looks like like Big Y now supports Apple Pay: http://www.masslive.com/business-ne...big_y_accepts_apple_pay_contactless_paym.html and on their site too: http://www.bigy.com/Services/Policies and I've heard they are using the Ingenico iSC 250's to boot. Added to the merchant list.

Heads up to anyone that lives near a Dollar Tree location, I believe they use the MX915 readers like Cub Foods does. After I got some items, I put my phone next to the reader and sure enough, my card came up! Can anyone else confirm this?

So did Dollar Tree work with Apple Pay or not? I see on twitter someone was able to use Apple Pay at Dollar Tree in May, so I'd say yes it will probably work! I know some newer Family Dollars have the MX915's but around here the Dollar Trees were still using MX860 with EMV slots the last time I went into one. I've never been into a Family Dollar to test their MX915's though.

They're declining (or well, Chase is) NFC transactions right now.

So a new problem arose today. Sports Authority just got new MX915's which have zero indication of NFC, Apple Pay, or Google Wallet anywhere. It just says "please swipe card". NFC is still active but no longer works with MasterCard, only Visa and AMEX. Way to go SC, I have seen better support from non Apple Pay partners. Very frustrating. I figure this has to do with MC trying to run as EMV Cryptogram, rather than EMV pass through with MSD data emulation like Visa does when it's told to.
Indeed I just went to a Sports Authority today and it only said something like "Please Swipe Now" or "Please Swipe Card" on the MX915. Of course I was able to tap and the cashier told me that the old ones didn't work with Contactless at all, and I was like thats good that they replaced them. :p Today I also walked into a Big Lots and they ran Ethernet cables to each of their Verifone MX915's and they still had the serial or whatever everyone else uses as well, the former which I have never seen before. So I was wondering if that had enabled NFC as they did change the configuration a bit, but not much, as it still said "Please swipe your card" so I didn't bother with it. Now anyone have any idea to why they would even run Ethernet cables like that?

Quoting myself but Haggen does have NFC! Tried it yesterday. It doesn't say anything about Apple Pay nor does it show any logos, it just says Please Slide Card. When it says that, tap your phone or Apple Watch and it works great.
I just want to let you know that I found this on twitter: " Haggen Southwest ‏@haggensouthwest Jun 18
No wallet? No problem. We now accept #ApplePay in all stores & #StarbucksPay in select stores! #hasslefree" Looks like they offically support it now with no plans to ever turn it off, some good news for you and other Haggen shoppers! Here is the picture that came along with the tweet: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CHy-jDvUwAEVmKw.jpg:large

I just wish Haggen would better up the gui on their terminals. Or at least add the contactless symbol or something. Nobody is going to know Please Slide Card means you can use Apple Pay!

Almost every terminal supports either Usb Or IP based configurations. The IP based leads me to believe that a semi integrated EMV setup is coming. Which also means NFC!

The semi integrated vs fully integrated solution is faster to deploy because of waiting for certs from MasterCard or visa. Rather than having them approve the entire pos system they just have to approve the pin pad.

Ah that sounds like very good news, I wonder if you saw Ethernet cables hooked up to the MX915's at your Big Lots as well? I only went to one, so I'm not sure about other Big Lots yet, but I will check at others, the one I went to supports SNAP/EBT so I thought that was why it had Ethernet hooked up to it, but if its at others then its not that. Also your talking about something like this: http://www.pymnts.com/company-spotlight/2015/semi-integrated-fully-emv-ready/#.VYbkSDBVhBc ?

I think at some point people will just assume that a MX915 means that the business takes Apple Pay, no symbol required. I already do sometimes.

I was at the Traders Joe's in Naperville, IL and their terminal upgrade has gone through and they have Apple Pay listed on the terminals. I was able to purchase sundries using my watch.

Yeah Dollar Tree failed with MasterCard and Visa. I think it's because it's not saving the whole transaction from the phone, but rather it's just saving the card number and name, and then sending that off for processing. This is a simple fix for them, but is very annoying while we wait to get it fixed. In other news, the Microsoft store near meet changed their POS setup from the Verifone vx520 to a fully integrated setup (using a Surface Pro 3 as the POS computer beneath a table) with a Verifone MX925. Contactless is enabled and well labeled, most likely for the rollout of Windows Pay (or whatever it's called). Video coming soon!

I wonder if Google Wallet works at Dollar Tree? Also the VX520 must have been temporary while they wait to get their intergrated setup. I saw a picture where Trader Joe's called it Windows Wallet so that is probably what it is called.

Finally got LoopPay working at my Beavercreek, Oh Target. Terminals are the same. So, I guess a software upgrade. Said they are now getting training on contactless payments. Hopefully Apple Pay early next year.

Any word about Costco yet? I'm aware that Apple Pay would only work with debit cards and American Express there but they seem to have MX915s like many other retailers so it seems possible anyway.

All I've found on Costco: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B4Eck2ICAAAu152.jpg:large So they are aware of Apple Pay and Google Wallet, so hopefully they are working on it, but that photo is from like 6 months ago.

Their Vx520 setup was integrated. They only swiped cards through there. They don't hit any keys or anything on the Vx520. In fact you sign on a digital signature screen that faced the customer, not on a receipt. No receipts or even receipt paper for that matter is even loaded into the Vx520 at the Microsoft store.

They definitely had a peculiar setup indeed.

It sounds like all of the stores have the PIN pads now. Or do they mean December 2015?
December 2014 for sure, December 2015 would be too long of a time plus that is past the emv libability shift, and it doesn't take that long to install MX915's in all 474 US warehouse locations.
