If you want to actually understand how OpenCore works, read the documentation that it comes with.
You will find your question answered under "ScanPolicy" which outlines how to fine tune the policy that determines what is shown in the boot picker.

If you can't be bothered, just set the "ScanPolicy" key in your config to "0" to scan and show everything possible.
Best to take the time to study the docs though.
Thanks, I have read the section on “ScanPolicy” and have checked the config file but it is already set to “0”

What can I do if the machine turns on too slowly? The "Opencore boot screen" comes in after too long. It was faster at first ....

Many thanks for your EFI folder. I've noticed it does have at least one nice graphical enhancement, and the addition of AppleALC.kext might to the trick for HDMI functionality. Sadly, once I select my Macintosh HD (Catalina) disk from the OC Picker, it just shows the Apple logo and nothing else. Is there a possibility that my USB flash drive is simply defective?

EDIT: I've repeated the entire process on an old 1GB Cruzer Micro. Both my and your EFIs end up showing the Apple logo when I pick my Catalina disk. No progress bar, no nothing. Should I try with a more recent USB pen drive? I must be missing something, but I don't know what that might be.
Look PM

OpenCore 0.6 from h9826790
For me, same speed as 0.5.9. (About 7 seconds from the chime)

If you didn't select your default boot drive, please select that in the system preferences -> startup disk. It may cause slow boot if nothing set as default boot drive.

I had this issue before. If you had previously installed AppleALC, Lilu, Whatevergreen, on your system, the kexts in OpenCore cause an issue. What I did was delete those from my system and use them through OpenCore. Everything booted up after. The duplicate kexts can cause a problem.

This is kinda random since I had hoped OpenCore would magically fix it. I have the original Superdrive in my Mac Pro. Upon restart, the chime goes off but then my Superdrive tray opens up. No idea why. Does it regardless of a wireless keyboard or usb keyboard. Has anyone dealt with that? It's funny though once the tray opens up, I know that OpenCore will start about a second after.

Only turn on VMM cannot update to beta 4 on my cMP (not even show up).

I still use full iMac Pro SMBIOS spoofing to make it works.

i updated today to DP4 only with cupidmask

but i use the delta update - softwareupdate > more info

and with OC 0.6.0 and DP4 i see a much better GPU performance
(vega56 on my testboard)

Unfortunately for me it is very slow. 21 sec from the gong sound. Default Boot Disc selected. I tried another EFI folder as well. Nothing changes...

Goodmorning to all, this is my first post but i follow the forum from a while.
Nice to meet you all.
I have the same problem on my Macpro 5,1 (screenshots attached). i have OC 0.5.9 and catalina is installed in a PCI Nvme Sabrent drive. it takes something like 20 seconds also for me from the boot chime.
EDIT: It takes 40 seconds... not 20..
The NVram reset (cmd alt p r) doens't seem to resolve the problem.
Tell me if you need more info for debug purpose
Thank you

I don't have NVMe, this may be the reason.
