I have a MacPro 5,1 successfully running OC 0.7.0 and Catalina 10.15.7 (19H1217). What is the proper procedure to receive the latest security update (19H1323)? I only get a prompt to install Big Sur in the standard software update and downloading the (19H1323) installer separately results in a "your system does not support this update".

thx

What is the procedure for updating OpenCore?

I currently have REL-068-2021-04-05 running on both my native 5,1's for the past three months and noticed that OpenCore is now at 0.7.2.

Tried a search of this thread but just way too many hits to weed through...

Thanks! That worked. I assume as per Martin's video that I should again disable VMM after the update in order to keep CPU Turbo Boost?

Hello everyone!
Will OC 0.7.1 work on High Sierra?
I haven't found if it works with that specific OS anywhere on the internet.
Right now I don't have a Metal compatible GPU cause they are ultra expensive so I'm stuck with High Sierra and my GT120 at the moment.
So, is it possible to add OC to my 5.1 with High Sierra or is it a no no?
Thanks in advance!

I have made a simple check and report script, see the latebloom thread.

Can someone steer me to a good link to Catalina. Apple says the requested version of MacOS is not available.

On Open core 0.7.2

It doesn give me the option to download 11.5.2.

Hi all,

I woke up this morning, booted up my 4,1 -> 5,1 12-core Mac Pro running Mojave (Boot ROM Version: 9144.0.6.7.0 and SMC Version (system): 1.39f5) off a Samsung 256GB AHCI blade. I'm of course running OC but I haven't done any system updates recently.

I noticed the following files in the Trash, and I didn't put them there. Is this normal/okay?

Apologies if this has come up before, but I haven't noticed files like this in my trash before, and I haven't seen it mentioned on the forum either.

Thanks,

Ed

Hmmm. More likely than not, since those files don't self-destruct, they were put there by someone located at the time between your screen and your chair.

I haven't touched or thought about OpenCore for a while, though. In fact I've barely been here! OpenCore seems very transparent to me unless I start messing with Clover and so on... maybe these files were in my downloads folder and I deleted them when having a bit of a clearout. Nothing else in the Trash, though!

Anyway was a bit worried that I'd moved something that shouldn't be moved.

I already have available 11.5.2 for update so do I need the gibMacOS in order to retrieve Catalina ?
gibMacOS is one way to get recent versions of Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, and High Sierra. It is not the only way. It downloads the OSs from Apple just like a software update would. The code is in the script.

I have Made my own EFI for my Mac Pro
