Thank you for the info! I'm not sure I understand all of it as I don't know anything about RefindPlus or the other one you mentioned BootManager(?) or something? Are there any how to posts on this for me to check out to see if it's something I could manage?

I'm currently on macOS 11.6.7 and opencore 0.8.0 on my Mac Pro 5,1. I having trouble logging into iMessage and FaceTime, it keeps saying unkown error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Idk I'm using Martin Los package with the a legacy wireless card and the patch for that. I think it might be related because I've seen people having problems with imessage authentication and 3rd party wireless adapters.

Is there a way to get legacy bluetooth and wifi working in Monterey? Can OpenCore to load suitable kext from EFI partition? I don't like to install patched kext in OS partition.

I'm having a black screen issue with my new 6900 XT. The bios rom was exported using GPU-Z and was then patched using Syncretic's patcher tool. I then flashed the card with amdvbflashWin successfully. The card works great in Windows 10 on the Mac Pro 5,1 but it "halts" around 50% progress bar in Monterey showing a black screen instead. It boots in Mojave but with unsupported graphics (as expected). When I boot into safe mode (-x flag) on Monterey the graphics card shows as "AMD Navi21 16 GB"

Lilu and Whatevergreen is included. I use @h9826790's 0.8.0 package, it worked perfectly fine with my previous card (5700 XT) which was natively supported though.

Here is my boot arg:

-lilubetaall -wegbeta agdpmod=pikera enable-gva-support shikigva=80 unfairgva=1 mbasd=1 -wegtree -no_compat_check no32exec=0

It's really a 6900XT or it's a 6900XTH that is yet incompatible with Apple NAVI drivers (different PCIe id)?

Ah OK so that's it. Is compatibility expected or should I just go for another card?
Can't answer that, maybe Apple will add it in the future.

Some people with hackintoshes spoofed the original 6900XT PCI id to make a XTXH card to work with the current NAVI drivers. You will also need to do the same thing. Search the usual hackintoshes forums for the recipe.

Thanks a lot, will take a look at that!

Here are my issues: Can't seem to get Monterey to install all the way through without seeing the "support.apple.com/startup" prompt and without having to shut down. Once I'd get it to install, Bluetooth doesn't work and my audio interface doesn't produce audio. It connects but no audio.

Also, when I reinstall OC with 0.8.2, it won't let me boot into recovery to Bless as the instructions suggest; it just sits there for a while and rechimes but nothing doing.

In addition, I've tried using the OC Legacy Patcher through my 2012 iMac and was able to install on a separate SSD via Option boot method. The install went all the way through with no hiccups.

HOWEVER, when I install the SSD back into my 5,1 cMP, it shuts my computer down. I was able to see the first setup page for Monterey while on my iMac but I decided to try and do the setup on the cMP 5,1. But as described, it doesn't even boot, it just shuts down.

So I've given a number of issues I'm dealing with; I hope Alex or someone can extend guidance. Have been trying to install this thing for a Month! Thank you for any suggestions.

Too many possible issues not enough info. You need to narrow down, but Bluetooth issues with the original Mac Pro Bluetooth v2.0 controller are expected and also with audio - both need OC configuration fine tuning/kexts/etc.

Did you dumped your BootROM image and checked if you have enough available space with the first VSS store of the NVRAM? You can surely brick your Mac Pro trying to install, or even bless, multiple times without enough available space. Not being capable of bless is a very bad sign.

After checking the available VSS store space, you should try and check if you can complete an install of Big Sur 11.6.7 with OCLP 0.4.7.

Thank you for responding. I have not done a Rom dump and verification, but will. If you don't have enough space, what are the alternatives?

I believe I replaced the wifi/Bluetooth module when I initially purchased the cMP. But I will look into it as well. I do remember installing Monterey on my 5,1 successfully before but when my audio interface wasn't working I tried reinstalling and could never get it back again.

I will work on your suggestions and reply with an update. Is there any other info you might need to help you provide additional feedback?

If you have issues with your BootROM like corrupted secondary VSS store, see the examples on the post I linked, you will need a BootROM reconstruction service. I'll send you a PM with all the info.

For your info, the BCM94322MC AirPort Extreme model is not natively supported since Catalina and the workarounds to make it work are too cumbersome for most people. The natively supported model is BCM94360CD or BCM943602CDP, the former is preferred.

First step is to check if your BootROM is healthy, after you are sure that you won't brick your Mac Pro, you start the diagnose with Big Sur.

Hi everybody,
after ages i updated oc from 0.6x to 0.82 and finally want to update Big Sur. (Still stuck with 11.2.3)
A simple sudo softwareupdate -ia downloaded macOS Big Sur 11.6.7
but then after getting "Downloaded: macOS Big Sur 11.6.7" I restart but nothing happens.
Repeating softwareupdate -ia gives me a "Downloaded: macOS Big Sur 11.6.7" without downloading.
It doesn't seem to be an issue on my Mac Pro 2012, because exactly the same
happens on my Macbook Pro 2020 when trying to update from 11.6.6
I never experienced something like this on MacOS...
Does anybody have an idea how to recover from this and actually start the installer?
EDIT: nevermind... solved it.
delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
update via System Preferences / Software Update.
the command line tool repeatedly failed, is maybe broken.

Hello, iam new to OC, and used the MartinLO 0.8 package to install<
previously i had a working BigSur and then Monterey install for test on a NVME,
but i decided to delete, and reinstall,

what i did>
1. disable SIP
2. install MartinLO package on internal SSD
3. make bootable USB with OCLP for Monterey
.\ boot from this USB after picking "Boot EFI" at StartUP and then via "Install Mac OS MOnterey"
4 the installation goes halfway through onto NVME three quarters through but then it says
"macOS Update Assistant" / "A required firmware update could not be installed"

am i missing something?
Downloaded the latest Monterey and used latest OCLP Patching Tool (0.4.8) /

is there a conflict if i install MartinLO package first? with OCLP?

Sadly wont remember how installed it in first place, but it seems those installers are changing fast.

Graphics Card is supprted with RX 570, thanks.

@h9826790 thank you very much, now the installer would go through (it seems as the installer would miss only last step, and i could boot in OC from MacNVME, but at the end of the bar, the computer would restart *+
_+ edit> the installer made it through!

@h9826790, thanks, very gracious, the Monterey is now running already quite well (boot-time with NVME about 30seconds).
May i ask what additional features are included in the updated config.plist above, it seems there are quite some lines added.

EDit: WOW, boottime cut in half, thanks, awesome improvement.

EDIT2> the above config.plist would not let me update the SL partition to Lion< however, the original included in your OC package 0.8 yes, once the change is made as shown in the video above for Catalina/Monterey. So i presume the same change has to be made also in the shared config.plist for macos12.4/only for 0.8? for legacy installs of OS X?
Thanks
