The Apple Circle is another one... Clickbait title and clickbait thumbnail...

Maybe it's time to list all clickbait YouTube channels...

99% of Youtube is annoying clickbait in 2024. I pretty much never click on any channel with thumbnails like these.

User experience is one thing and Pushy Salesperson is another.
Please don't combine the two.
I see this a lot happening which drives me away from the likes of these
types of videos. Disgusting.

I was a huge fan of max tech, but now he’s just a clickbait troll. It’s getting super annoying , what do you guys feel ?

He created a video now where he said the apple event is announced , my heart skipped a beat only to find out it’s fake after frantically searching through macrumours.

This is very disingenuous. To add that he deletes any comment that calls him out on being clickbait
Unsubscribe then, and click don't recommend channel. Simple as

Fun fact: he often reads this forum and website so he may be reading this forum post😂

Well, I don’t really think he is THAT annoying, at least not even fraction as annoying as MKBHD who literally talks trash for 20 minutes straight, EverythingApplePro who lives on clickbait or Potato Jet who is literally a salesman who just does advertisements for brands but never tells disadvantages and common issues.

But imo youtube reviewing genre shall be gone. Forever. Zero useless information and straight “oh boi JUST BUY THIS BRAND NEW TRASH! It is SO GOOD you won’t ever need a new one for a year or so”.

There's now a 3rd brother doing the channel videos and he speaks and sounds just like the other 2 LMAO. MaxTech clone factory in full swing.

Damn lol, it really is so disingenuous. It's almost like a kids show. Tech for stupid people.

I usually find helpful info in their videos, but I'm also very selective and purposeful about which videos I watch.

Yeah, I appreciate some of their in-depth comparison videos but they are awful with click-bait and just downright misinformation. They just make stuff up. People who don't know any better then take it at face value and end up spreading it elsewhere (often here). Pretty sure I had to hit 'Don't Recommend This Channel' because it was pissing me off.

This. Between being another part of the Google spyware apparatus and the volumes of junk content, I don’t know why anybody watches YouTube at all beyond the occasional how-to video.
There is a large amount of news and political analysis content from both established media organizations and individuals that is quite interesting. Of course much of it is rife with political bias, but there is a wide selection , and I often view channels that are “outside of my bubble” to get some different perspective.

He lost me with his ridiculously inaccurate take on the M2 MacBook Air when it came out. His video made it sound like it was a weak offering and that wasn't remotely the case.

I tested the crap out of that thing and it handled everything I threw at it. Houdini, Blender, Final Cut (4k video), Logic, Xcode, Unity, the list goes on and on and it never even got warm (not even using Houdini). It smoked my 16 inch Intel i9 MacBook Pro with 64 gigs ram.

Too many of his videos will say one thing, then a week later another video says the opposite.

Lol. :p

I think one thing's clear: no reviewer is going to satisfy everyone. They either praise too much, criticize too much, nitpick too much, focus on surface-level critique only, or market their videos with shameless clickbait. If a reviewer isn't mirroring your exact opinion, they're going to seem biased and inaccurate. If, for example, you value 120 Hz and a reviewer says "60Hz is fine, you can't even notice a difference", their opinion is going to seem biased and inaccurate, but if you don't care about 120Hz, their opinion is going to seem validating and truthful.

Look, that MaxTech has those clickbait-titles and obnoxious thumbnails because that kind of thing increases views and subscriptions. "Vote with your clicks"--don't click the bait and they'll be discouraged from doing it. Well, in theory, but it probably won't make a dent because that kind of stuff does work on "the masses", as much as we like to clown on them. Titles and thumbnails like that are "algorithm-perfected". It's what works, so it's what they do.

They've been clickbait since day 1... Where have you been?

Honestly though, the majority of the tech channels have become nothing more than advertisers imo.

Hey, I like Chip & Dale. Don’t demean cute chipmunks.

You raise a fair point. I should elaborate... the comparison ends with Max Tech and Chip and Dale being two nearly identical guys with similar interests and high pitched voices.

Chip and Dale would never have the audacity to do a fast talking routine to try to sell me on a subscription aromatherapy service, or the like.

They're probably one of the most influential Apple channels out there on Youtube. I'm sure I can't be the only one who always looks out for Max Tech to dissect and break down major Apple news as it happens. I know they evaluate keynotes on their own merits and don't regurgitate the Apple PR propaganda that most so-called reviewers do.
