Looks like everyone received their package but me.
The last update is the delivery exception, but I'm still hoping for FedEx to show up!
I think we're on the same boat ..... uhhh... truck I guess.
I can find the precise location of the nearest Krispy Kreme donut shop on my little iPhone GPS, but big Fedex can't provide the location of their cargo - that's all they do - deliver cargo. Should they not know where it is. Geeeesh.
- According to Fedex.com my iPad is in Mississauga with a delivery exception but still scheduled to deliver by midnight.
- According to Yahoo tracking my iPad has left 'the ramp' in Mississauga hours ago.
- According to the Fedex telephone tracking my package was already here in Vancouver but there was nobody here to pick it up so it's scheduled for re-delivery (that's BS by the way).
- According to the Fedex rep on the phone my package got 'stuck' in Ontario and will be delivered on Monday.
Ya ... they got it all figured out.
Just got mine in Calgary. Delivery was supposed to be sometime before 12 PM but it ended up arriving around 3:30. Just syncing all my stuff to it now. Screen looks perfect, ie., no dead pixels, yellow, light leakage, etc.
I also trimmed my iPhone sim down so I don't have to pay for separate data plans. Works like a charm!

Before that, though, the package stayed in MISSISSAUGA, ON until it was updated this morning.
I got mine just after lunch. I ran outside when I saw e fed ex guy driving by and got it it's really cool. Happy to finally get it after waiting for so long.
As a bonus when it is in landscape view I can basically type as fast as I can on a notebook. Bonus.

Has anybody who got their iPad signed up and tested out 3G? If so, how is it? I am waiting to hear back from you people! I guess everyone is too excited to have their iPads and ditched the thread.

ok, now mine (yahoo fedex) says it's arrived in winnepeg...but still deliverable by midnight.....so, do I stay at work late??? and will the fedex guy even try if they did deliver late?? grrr....and at 1:30 future shop still had the one in stock I ordered....enough to drive someone mad!!
I had the same dilemma but I just called Fed Ex and arranged a pick up for tomorrow. They said it should arrive later tonight and be ready for pick up anytime tomorrow.
On truck for delivery. Woohoo Ive never seen them deliver so late in the day. Seems they're working overtime to deliver these things. (Winnipeg)
My last update still said Mississauga, so obviously it was just the paperwork that was in ontario. Mine seems to have come directly from anchorage->indianapolis->winnipeg.
So it's very likely your ipads have been sitting in your home city, while the paperwork/customs was showing ontario.

I am typing on the 3G iPad right now activated on the bell network. Speed wise Bell compared to Rogers are around the same if both are getting 5 bars signal. Heck even their price are the same for their PAYG plans. Bell proclaims they let iPad 3G activated on their network to use their mobile TV app for free. I downloaded it but it has yet to work for me. So if anything Bell has really no advantage over Rogers.
If you live in an area blanketed by bell 3G signal, then You should not use bell as you have no 2G (EDGE) network to fall back upon

You know what's disappointing? to know that there is a Best Buy and Future Shop 5 minutes away from my house and one of them surely have a few in stock and I have to wait for my iPad. Next time I think twice before pre-ordering something from Apple instantly when it comes up on their online store.

YES! It finally arrived! I can't believe it. I was almost going outside but the FedEx truck finally came!
For others who are waiting, I suggest you be patient because nothing else can be done. I received it right now at 5 PM which is not an early delivery, so just wait for it and hopefully it will come.

I'm in Calgary... the FedEx agent said the airplane is in Winnipeg waiting on bad weather but they will still try to deliver it tonight... who knows!
I just got a call from FedEx wanting to know if I would be around for a late delivery. They mentioned it was coming in on a later plane. I checked online and it on the docks in Winnipeg.
Also if they for some reason can't get to me tonight, he said I could drive up to Sidney tomorrow and pick it up from the airport. That's about an hour drive from where I am.

Fedex tried to deliver to my office at 7:45pm... Obviously that didn't work out too well. Not too impressed with Fedex or Apple for cutting the deliveries so close. If I'd know they were going to deliver it late I would have used my home address... Of course, then it would have come during the day
EDIT: Holy Crap, it just arrived at my door! I had tried to reroute earlier and they brought it over! I give mega points to Fedex for going above and beyond on this

Well, after an amazingly convoluted tracking journey, which includes back and forth to Anchorage (not sure I believe that), my iPad appears to have attained the following status:
"May 28, 2010 8:43 PM - On FedEx vehicle for delivery - SAINT-HUBERT, PQ".
I can hardly believe it...
So I suspect they really are planning to attempt delivery this evening. It appears that for unknown reasons it might have been trucked from Mississauga to Montreal, since the package appears to have spent all day doing nothing in Mississauga before showing up at the local depot at 8:34pm. (why on earth would they have not just sent the pallet from Memphis to Mirabel by air cargo?).
Oh well, you have to give FedEx some credit for putting in the extra effort. Clearly, they are experiencing much higher delivery volumes today due to the iPad pre-order deliveries and the fixed delivery date restriction.
So, if you live in the Montreal area, don't give up yet; your iPad may still be on its way to your door tonight. Also, the FedEx agent told me that exceptionally, they expected to have the Saint-Hubert pickup office open tomorrow from 9am-2pm if for some reason they are unable to deliver all of the iPads this evening.

Well I got a call 15 min ago from Fedex, won't be til tomorrow, though it's at my workplace, so at least the dude is going to call me to see if I can be there in a certain window...otherwise looks like Monday for me. Don't think I'll preorder anything from Apple again. Could have bought it after lunch still in the local future shop. Oh, and I ordered at about 1am May 10th.
