People should also mention what they have their brightness level settings on top of their battery times.

Whatever factory default is. Plenty bright enough (and I always notice when my MB starts to dim after inactivity). Mostly web surfing, lot of wifi. I haven't been able to get it under 90%, but I've been leaving it plugged in to my USB often while syncing various stuff (it does charge off my USB, somewhat).

And yeah--no heat that I've noticed during continual (hours) use. I'm sure others can confirm.

I realize I can't charge the iPad with my PC's USB. I have to use the charger. Minor problem but oh well.z

Am I missing the usage time on it? I've looked in the settings but doesn't seem to be there like on the iPhone.

Will battery life be better after first full charge?

Ive read a lot of people are getting great battery life (both on here and in online reviews).

My iPad said 100% charge when I turned it on around 11am, it's now down to 3%. I didn't even use it the whole time, had a 3 hour break in between, so I got about 6 hours out of it.

The brightness is set to about 90% (I like my screens bright), but all Ive done on it all day is surf the web and mess with some picture apps.

Im letting it drain all the way and then plugging it in until it's fully charged, hoping the next full drain will last 9-10 hours. If not, it may be defective?

Good here. Mine got down to 20% after 10 hours of use. Was it full when you started using it?

Keep an eye on it on your next few recharges. Bad batteries can happen. I've been using mine for about 6 hours straight and only down to 60% so I'm pretty happy for day one.

all day

I have literally been using it all day, wifi and around town and using my mobile hotspot. handing it around to people.

I started at 86% at 10:30 anow it is 50% at 20:42

Very impressed with the battery.

I know we're all in iPad mode, but I really hope this isn't just the extra large battery packs and we'll see big things for the next iPhone.

The battery is crazy good. Mine was 100% charged out of the box. I started to use it at 1030am and I'm finally charging it now.

Battery has been good, but I also noticed that charging seems much slower than the iPhone. Makes sense, but it seems like charging over night vs brief times during the day is more necessary than before.

Update

I've been using my iPad non stop for roughly six hours (watching a couple movies, playing music and or browsing the forum) and I'm just now hitting 50% on the battery. This is with my brightness set at 75%.

This is thing is amazing.
