Yeah but the Netherlands? We are not a great baseball nation, and a much smaller market than Germany or France, where the rights are not sold and you can just get the streaming package. All because we have some ESPN channels on the cable packages here. Anyway I find it deeply unfair.

Yeah the streaming rights and who gets what under MLB is due for a top-down overhaul. In the states, we are subject to blackout restrictions based on our geographic location. For example, I'm able to watch Red Sox and Dodgers games without issue BUT if I want to watch a Seattle Mariners game, MLB's logic is "You are either close enough to see the game in person OR you are in an area where the cable provider offers the game on TV but you have to pay for the cable package."

There is growing momentum though to have all of the streaming rights fall under the MLB umbrella instead of them being sold to regional sports networks. This is the case with the Padre's and a few other teams because of the RSN's bankruptcy.

But as for your situation in the Netherlands, that's a dick move by ESPN but unfortunately, also not surprising either.

Playoff are set!!!!

Who is everyone pulling for? For me it is anyone but the Dodgers and Houston, unless we have a rematch and the Dodgers win, but then again, I hope it doesn't get to that point... :)

Orioles in the AL. Brewers in the NL, I guess.

Dodgers/Orioles WS. Probably wont happen but wishful thinking.

For the AL...
  • Orioles weren't on anyone's bingo card to win the AL East, let alone be competitive so to see them back on top like this is impressive.
  • I'm so done with the hype over Houston. I hope they get sent home early.
  • Blue Jays and Twins could be intriguing to watch just because they haven't been to the WS in quite a while
  • Rangers. Sure. Whatever.
  • I could care less about the Rays
As for the NL...
  • Dodgers because I love Mookie.
  • D-backs could be fun to watch I guess
  • See above for Miami
  • Phillies just so that Harper can get his ring and shut up about it
  • Milwaukee. Sure. Whatever.
  • Braves are going to be the tough one because they are absurd this year. Acuna will win MVP no doubt.

Orioles would deserve a win, they’ve been good all year. Blue Jays I wouldn’t mind seeing in the World Series. From the NL I’d like the Dodgers, the Diamondbacks as the plucky outsiders or maybe the Braves.

The Astros and the Phillies I’m not in favour of.

meh to the bodgers and the other teams you've mentioned lol.

Yes. Also big belly flop by the AL East teams, as the Rays and the Blue Jays both lost. Which is kinda funny, as everyone said how tough the division has played…

Yeah, I noticed that, but we'll see how they bounce back today.

I was watching the Brewers/diamond back last night. I was rooting for the Brewers, I like them as a team, but sadly they came up short.

Mariners GM: Be happy with what we give you because you're not getting anything else...

At this point, it's been proven that any team that spends an ungodly amount of money on FA's isn't guaranteed a spot in the post season (see 2023 Mets). But to tell your fanbase that aiming for a specific win percentage with in-house talent and not spending on players who could get you over the top is a good way to piss them off too.

And now we are stuck with ARI ... meh!! Doesn't matter the bogdgers will win anyway.

Anybody saw the commentary about the Blue Jays coach pulling their starting pitcher Berrios in the 4th leading to a 2-0 defeat? Lots of fans not happy supposedly.

I’m sure we will see AI managers soon…
