Madison Bumgarner has been DFA'd The Diamondbacks, who will eat more than $34 million remaining on the veteran left-hander's contract. I could be wrong, but I don't think he lived up the contract at all.

Speaking of not living up to his contract Chris Sale has looked horrible in his first three outings this season. Tuesday's game seems a bit more solid, so hopefully he turns things around but he hasn't played for years, it seems. I know he played last season, but not for long and that was after an extended recovery time

Max Scherzer suspended 10 games for foreign substances found on his hands. He was going to appear, and instead he just accepted his punishment, since it equates to two starts.

What fans? They didn't show up which was the problem.
The fans stopped showing up in 2021, when the team had a fire sale and got rid of the all of the talent that brought them to the play offs the prior years.

Its clear the team unloaded everyone, so why should the fans keep spending their hard earned money on a team that has no ability to win.

Because it's baseball. I will watch it no matter what. :)
I don’t blame any fan for not spending their hard earned money, when it’s clear the billionaire owner is choosing not to spend his money to improve the team

Want to fill the seats? Field a competitive team

Apple TV+ MLB games have ditched the terrible commercial break music, dark screen and I’d much rather see the field as it is now during breaks rather than commercials. One thing they’ve got right now this year on the Friday Night Apple TV+ games.

At least was the case in tonight’s Blue Jays/Yankees game. Haven’t watched any others this season on Apple TV+.

I watched last night's ATL game and the announcers are significantly better this year then last - at least the crew that did the ALT game was.

Bad owners kill teams. To bad pro leagues can't put in a clause that states owners have to sell if they can't keep a team viable in the original home town.

IMHO there are too many NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL teams as it is... stupid opinion, maybe, but at least I own it.

It is a tragedy to me that new teams win championships while older long suffering, classic, teams struggle for any kind of success.

I saw some video regarding the As where last year even though no one showed up, and had the worst team in baseball the owner still made something like 60 million dollars due to the TV rights and revenue sharing. He was being rewarded for having an awful team.

Perhaps a soccer league style relegation system. Probably wouldn't work in the NFL, but the other 3 have the lower levels to make it work. Baseball would certainly be the easiest.

Buffalo Sbres fan here, I appreciate that sentiment. The Vegas Golden Knights made the Cup finals, Seattle made the playoffs this year. Meanwhile Sabres 12 years and counting with no playoffs. They were promising this year, with a winning record, but still missed by 2 points. But the ultimate insult was losing out on Conner McDavid, despite having the worst record in the league, because of stupid ping pong balls. I hate leagues that use a draft lottery.

100% agreed.

Well anywhere but in the US it would.

If you think being nice to people of color, trans kids, rainbow beer cans, gay marriage, and "stolen elections" cause a ruckus here... just try that.

And please people, relax, I'm simply using irony and sarcasm to make a point. Please don't get me banned again.

100% agree with this. I like how the NFL does it. I know the GK made it because they had pretty much an all-star team once it was all said and done. I haven't followed Seattle as much, but I am assuming something similar happened with them, hence them being in the playoffs this year.

I just came across this video and I have to agree. Juan Siti should have taken the Nat's 400 million dollar 15 year contract extension, he refused (no doubt egged on my Scott Boras who presumably was getting even more greedy). As everyone knows they traded him, got a slew of young talent, and Soto is currently batting .180 and OPS of .720. Not 400 million dollar numbers
