I've given up predicting how the Giants will do. Now they're on some pretty good baseball after a very poor stretch. Maybe getting some players back like Wade and Yaz will help, and hopefully Ramos and Matos keep hitting, and Birdsong keeps building on a decent start to his major league career.

I have to love the symmetry between Hayden Birdsong and Ryan Vogelsong (literally German for "birdsong"). Vogey instructed the younger Bird in the minor leagues, too.

7 - 3 in our last 10. If we get back all the pitchers, Ray, Cobb*, and Snell, we sold the farm for maybe we'll be even better...

DAFT ORDER:

*I think Cobb was an off season signing, wasn't he?

Not this offseason. Giants signed him before the 2022 season.

7-3 in the last 10, and have taken series against LA and Atlanta. But, still under .500?

But the real problem is that they're likely to go 3-7 against their peers in the Soft Chewy Center™ of the standings, against whom they're vying for the Wild Card.

On another note, I heard a blurb while listening to ESPN Radio that said that the Yankees have had the worst record in the past three weeks, or something to that effect? I guess that's why we haven't gotten any recent updates on their running season totals. 😉

And now we've traded Slater...

Aw, that's sad. Very good role player, injuries have been unkind to him. Meanwhile, All-Star Heliot Ramos and Luis Matos have stepped up, limiting his potential playing time with the Giants going forward.

Hopefully Alex Young proves to be a good bullpen piece: they need the help.

I'm hoping he sticks and is as good as they thought he'd be...finally.

I hear yeah... While I didn't see the or hear the National Anthem at the time it was done, but it sounds like it is getting lamb-basted by a lot of folks. After listening to it on Youtube... and yes it is that bad!

Hey, look…the Rays* will finally be rid of The Trop.

If the A's plans come to fruition, MLB's two worst venues (at least in one writer's opinion) will be a thing of the past.

But the A's will have to take some heat first, not of the kind from the loyal fans they are leaving behind.

* How different would things be if MLB hadn't blocked the Giants from moving there?

Jeez.

Snell awakes from his usual first half hibernation and throws a no-hitter, and a pebble thrown into the ocean might make more waves. Have the Giants become that anonymous, if not irrelevant?
