CAT 2.2.2 worked for me on PB 4. The one time I got an error (I think it was on PB 3), I ran the diagnostics first and then activating continuity worked.

Hello everybody,

im new to this topic and after reading many oages of this thread i'm confused^^

I currently have a Macbook Pro 13" Early 2011 and i want to change the Card so i get bluetooth 4.0 with all it's advantages.

So is there any tutorial i can follow to get this working on OSX El Capitan neuest Version?
And which card do i need?

Thanks in advice for your help!

MacBook Pro early 2011 to late 2011 (all models) Yes, new wireless card BCM94331PCIEBT4CAX
buy that, open up your macbook and replace the wireless card, then run CAT 2.2 Master.

is anyone having any issues with their bluetooth devices lagging with CAT enabled. My magic keyboard lags pretty bag from time to time and the only way I've been able too rid the issue is to either turn off WLAN or plug in the keyboard for a few seconds. My magic trackpad 2 is not suffering from any lag.

i have this problem with my logitech keyboard and magic trackpad, but its on my 13" 2012 MBP so that one doesnt need 'CAT' so i think its just the BT/WIFI interference..?

I'm using a bluetooth 4.0 dongle and the dongle is literally 3 inches from the keyboard. Could it be interference even if they are that close to each other?

proximity doesnt ensure good signal. My desk has an Asus AC56U 1200ac router, 2.4/5ghz wireless head set, BT keyboard, trackpad, 2 large monitors and a synology server all blasting out RF. It might be more about the frequency hopping the keyboard is able to use or some diffrence between the BT sets that's allowing too much interference in.

This may be a little off topic, but I think it is related.

2011 MBP, replaced Airport Card, CAT 2.2.3. Handoff/Continutity works perfectly.

Yesterday comes along with AT&T NumberSync, and the support docs at AT&T say that it requires a 2012 MBP or newer to activate NumberSync. I assume their logic is that it's tied to the Airport Card in some way.

It would be great if a developer with knowledge could see if this is indeed the case and make a "NumberSync Activation Tool"

I can't think of anything else other than planned obsolescence, that could keep NumberSync from working on my MBP that has the newer Airport Card.

I Just update to 10.11.2 , when i run cat says that OS X reports that cat is active and i cant do anything, how can i "rerun" the cat? Thanks

Hey everyone!

So I'm been doing some research in CAT months ago but never got around to it with school and work. Just finished up my last final (EVER! WOOT!) and I have some Best Buy rewards that will expire next week, and saw the IO gear dongle is really cheap right now, so I was going to buy that and see if I can get CAT set up with it.

I have an Early '11 MBP running 10.11.2 and previously never have ran CAT. I understand I'll have to disable SIP and the like to get CAT to run, but will CAT 2.2.2 allow me to use CAT with this BT 4.0 dongle? I'm not complete adverse to replacing the Airport card, but this is still my main machine and don't really wanna start poking around inside with that stuff just yet.

Thanks!

I'd replace the BT/wifi card instead of he dongle, but that's just me. I do believe 2.2.2 will work with the dongle. Maybe someone else can confirm this.

Where is CAT 2.2.2 I only can find 2.1
On GitHub download from the master branch not the beta branch.

any update on the 10.11.2 final? Says it fixes some issues with handoff. Wonder if it would break anything we've done.

I took the plunge and went to 10.11.2. Very easy, no issues with Continuity/Handoff. Used CAT just like before. One thing I did notice...

iOS -> Mac, Airdrop *edit* WORKS! Mac -> iOS worked perfectly.
I can make and receive calls.
Handoff Mac->iOS works perfectly. iOS->Mac doesn't work. Not the end of the world.
