Be careful with the Airport cards though - not all of them are too good and using a "bad one" can screw up the logic board. Mine was working fine for a week and boom - overheated and took down part of the logic board with it.

This 10.11.2 update feels like getting a new computer. So glad I no longer have to hide in fear that my bluetooth or wifi won't work after this update.

Has anyone using modded hardware experienced a temporary WIFI-hardware failure? Had an episode last night where OS X told me it had no Wifi Hardware installed. Rebooting to recovery console, disabling SIP, rebooting, rebooting to recovery, and enabling SIP again solved my issue.

I only get that when updating system apps. I have disabled SIP altogether for that reason.

Hi everybody, I need a help with CAT. I have a late 2011 macbook pro with os el capitan 10.11.2 and I use a dongle usb bluetooth 4.0. I've already forced my mac using the dongle as default bluetooth with the command
sudo nvram bluetoothHostControllerSwitchBehavior=always , then I used Bluetooth Explorer and switched the bluetooth controller from AirPort to dongle 4.0.
However, I then tried to activate Continuity with CAT, but it shows the error: your hardware doesn't support bluetooth 4.0. Now how can i fix it?
Thank you!!

Oh, how I wish I could get my continuity/hand-off/air-drop operable again...Had it working well for so long but no more. Running a late 2011 MBA with OS X 10.11 (15A278b), iPhone 6S on 9.3.1 and CAT 2.2.3. I've uninstalled/reinstalled CAT many times, logged in/out of iCloud and the CAT toll shows as successfully installed every time, but somehow, after this late OS update a couple weeks ago, no connection taking place between the OS and the iOS, including Hand-off, Continuity and AirDrop, all of which were working fine before. Any/all suggestions (other than telling me to me a newer computer) would be much appreciated!

What version of 10.11 are you running? From the build number it's obviously a beta, but what version?

Hi guys. I have MBA mid 2011 i have the latest version of El Capitan. I tried to install the latest version of CAT 2.2.3, but does not work. Please help

Anyone experiencing kernel panic upon wake? I'm having some issues since upgrading that result in stalled boots, blinking ? folders on boot, some applications are taking longer than normal to process / go into Not Responding states, resulting in reboot. Occasionally, I'll have to enter recovery, disable SIP, and reboot. Annoying. Happens a few times a day. The problem seems to be worse when it's not plugged in. But as of this writing, it's working fine.

Early 2011 17" MBP / Modified CAX / CAT. 10.11.3 / OWC SSD / 16GB RAM / 2.4GHZ Core i7 Radeon 6770M

After two Reformats and Reinstalls, I've concluded there's a major bug in the CAT software. 17" MBP, 2011 edition running OWC SSD, 16GB Ram. With CAT enabled, 80% of boots result in a [ ? ] blinking file folder icon, and the drive doesn't mount.
I also run Adobe Creative Cloud software, and remember reading the article posted here 6 days ago about Adobe deleting the first file in the header, causing some boot issues. I do not think that is the case, as this issue started right around the time I upgraded to 10.11.3.

I can do without the functionality CAT provides until the developer gets his **** together, or Apple releases a "stable" version of El Cap. (Probably 10.11.10 or later).

Please note the developer is providing this software free of charge and if you were to contact him/make a pull request on GitHub, he would be happy to help.

That's if we can't help you anyway.

Had it back up and running well with OS 10.11.4 PB3 and iOS 9.3 PB3, then fourth PBs of both just killed it again.
(MBA late-2011, no dongle.)

So I just installed some drivers for a USB > Serial adapter (to connect to some Cisco equipment) and after reboot the wifi icon shows no hardware. I tried to reinstall CAT but says that SIP is enabled, even tho it's not. Booted to recovery to double check, not enabled. Re-enabled, rebooted, tried to run CAT (just to make sure I got the SIP enabled message, which I did), rebooted to recovery, disabled SIP, run CAT, and still got the message that it was enabled. So I uninstalled CAT, rebooted, reinstalled CAT and still get a message saying it's enabled when it's not.

Anyone have any ideas what I can do to get it to stop giving me that error? Haven't any probs with CAT until now. Also, I'm using v2.2.2 on 10.11.2.

Edit: nvm. I got it working again. I downloaded/installed the 10.11.2 Combo update, reinstalled CAT and all is well.
