Hi, I wonder if someone could help me. I just registered here just to post this. I'm not comfortable using the Activation tool, (not out of distrust, just not familiar with it), and have been modifying the files within the two kext packages manually with each OS upgrade. That's been working fine. I just upgraded to 10.11.3 (from 10.10.2 I believe — I'd been avoiding it for this very reason), and I now find that the data block I need to modify in the file "IOBluetoothFamily" (which is found in IOBluetoothFamily.kext/Contents/MacOS/) is nowhere to be found. It seems that the version of this file that 10.11 installed is substantially different from previous versions. I strongly suspect that if I had hung on to the Yosemite version, or hell, the original Lion version for that matter, I'd be able to modify at as I usually do and have it work, but it's long gone.
I've got a MBP 13" late 11 with upgraded WiFi/Bluetooth
**Could someone kind possibly provide an old version of the kext (or just the file I need, even) for me to download?** If it's easier to mail it to me, I'd happily accept it at parkernyc83@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.
Also, I'm not using the "rootless=0" boot argument. Anyway, I thought that dev-mode was superseded by SIP? I'm just turning SIP all the way off and LEAVING it off! I modify way too many system files for this BS about turning it off and on and off and on and booting into Recovery Mode every time I install an extension that (God forbid) is unsigned! If this leaves me vulnerable to someone who wants to hack into my Mac and look at all my boring spreadsheets, he can have at it!
