iTunes purchases or redeems (for movies that you do NOT own) that have 4K in iTunes and UHD in Vudu....if you purchase or redeem directly in iTunes some of those are porting to Vudu in UHD!

I just bought I am Legend in iTunes for $9.99. It's 4K in iTunes and ported to Vudu in UHD.

I had the same luck with Lucy.

I purchased Lion King on iTunes today. It now shows in Vudu but not MA or Google Play. Unlink Relink didn’t fix it. Any ideas?

Any tips for getting iTunes to connect when it keeps saying unable to connect?

Edit- got it. I disconnected on my desktop. ITunes said it was disconnected. Movies anywhere said it was disconnected. Going in to my account on my phone showed it was still connected. So I disconnected there and was then able to reconnect.
However some movies will still not show up in iTunes. They show up everywhere else though.

It might take 2 to 8hrs in iTunes, I purchased 5 movies in Vudu yesterday and it took almost 2hrs before it showed up in iTunes.

This isn't good... is it a glitch or supposed to be this way I wonder.

According to the MoviesAnwhere folks, on chat, there's a known Glitch with the service not connecting to iTunes with some accounts and the developers are working on resolving the issue.

I’ve linked my iTunes account and the movies are showing in both VUDU and Movies Anywhere

iTunes purchased ones play in 4K but the only one that doesn’t is Spider-Man Homecoming which plays in HD although it shows as purchased in UHD on the VUDU website which is a bit disappointing as I can’t log into the native VUDU app as I’m based in the U.K. (although I’ve got accounts for MA, VUDU and US iTunes)

This is the only one that was redeemed in VUDU instead of itunes

Does anyone know if the Movies Anywhere app plays in 4K?

if you are having trouble connecting like me, don't worry. I spoke with the MoviesAnywhere folks on Chat they are aware of the issue with iTunes and working to resolve it. So hopefully sometime in the next few days the connection will work. My MoviesAnywhere App works perfectly fine. I tried it today and most of my UV Library is now here. It is so awesome! I get all the 4K Upgrades and the iTunes Extras :) This is everything I ever wanted!

Did you try this?

Open your iTunes on your mac and open the link which opens iTunes from Movies Anywhere which will prompt iTunes to open the dialog box to connect the service, after you connect them then click "Go Back To Movies Anywhere" The iTunes weblink should be found in your web history when you went to connect initially.

It is a known error, according to the folks at MoviesAnywhere, but as of today my service is synced up and it's awesome.

I too was having issues disconnecting my iTunes account from MA. Rang them this morning and got through to a live person. Wait time was under 30 minutes, so maybe they are finally managing the queue more effectively. In any case, they had to manually disconnect my iTunes account from MA. I reconnected after 30 mins and I am back in business... albeit with the issues below.

Count me in re: the Blade Runner issue. I own the Final Cut on Vudu and it is not porting over to iTunes. Strangely a search of the iTunes Store shows the Final Cut whereas the TV app does not. Also, Baby Driver did not port over to iTunes with the 4K label (not debating whether it actually streams @ 4K or not). I searched for the title on a different iOS device (not linked to my Apple ID) and it no longer shows Baby Driver is being available in 4K. Can someone here confirm they are seeing the same?

I am seeing the same for Baby Driver. Getting annoying that these titles seem to change daily!!

Their online Chat was instant yesterday :) Overall, kinks and bugs aside, I'm very happy with this and the potential for the future.

Baby Driver is no longer available in 4K in the iTunes Store. Star Trek Beyond is gone completely. I’m going to start banging my head against a wall.

Star Trek Beyond is Paramount so it doesn’t port to MA. You are correct, however, that it is missing from the iTunes Store.

Right, so being from the UK, I’ve concluded that Movies Anywhere is amazing.

I legit think that bar the MCU/Star Wars/Harry Potter stuff I currently have, my disc buying is at an end.

The quality I’m seeing on my ATV is negligible (for me anyway) in regards to HD/4K content compared to disc.

I’ve managed to buy a ton of catalogue content dirt cheap this morning that I’d never have been able to afford before this got rolled out and is now watchable on my ATV in HD.

And once the other studios join in, it will be even better.

So does anyone buy movie codes online? Usually iTunes are way cheaper than everything else. Is this going to change now?

I switched to digital years ago since having over 1,000 BDs tends to take up a lot of space and I ran out of room in my current home. Though keep in mind the trade off to switching to digital is the audio, which takes up the most space when encoding. You can get some pretty sharp video, though you won't be streaming DTS MA or True HD.

I assume you are using a US iTunes account?

About three hours and counting.

MA shows iTunes is connected. iTunes no longer shows DMA nor does it show MA.

I tried filling out the email form for support, and tried calling but hung up after waiting 30+ minutes.

This morning I tried chat and after about 30 minutes the chat support rep manually disconnected my iTunes on MA, which allowed me to reconnect it myself. MA now seems connected to iTunes.

Interestingly, I was scrolling around the UHD movies to see what came over from iTunes and VUDU shows at least one iTunes HD (non-4K) movie as UHD (4K)...

That UHD badge is just showing it's available in UHD. Need to look at the detail page to see what you own.

I think this means you are right.

Yeah, tough to see on mobile/iPad, but because you have the Own from $24.99, that means UHD is still available to buy. If you are on the iPad you can try to view the full desktop site.

It'll look like this on a desktop client:
