Teams is one example of Microsoft having a winning colaboration platform and clearly wanting to continue to dominating with Windows.

Another productivity one is Microsoft Project - completely unavailable on Mac.
I never used MS Project, but use Microsoft Planner which is also a web app on my day to day, I juse Edge App for that lol

This build seems to be working really well, launches quickly. About 4 dock bounces on my M1 MBA.

Happy to hear! How’s memory consumption and CPU usage while in a call?

And Visio don’t forget Visio. I can’t understand why Microsoft haven’t ported Visio yet

The Mac Business Unit probably thinks there isn't enough of a market for Visio or Project on Mac, so those two "Office" products haven't been ported over.

Microsoft is actively shifting both Visio and Project into WebApps. As soon as Outlook is done, those will follow ;)

AFAIK only for the audio plugin.
Yeah, that's what I've seen. Anyone have thoughts on this plugin? Is it a Microsoft library or some other dependency?
At best this app is Apple Silicon "hybrid" not Apple Silicon native until that plugin dependency is removed or migrated to AS code.

Pretty good, I have a 16GB Air. Its using about 142MB just running and using the app normally. When I jump into a call it seems to fluctuate between 259MB to 312MB depending on if we are presenting or not.

Looking forward to the final release.

Hey folks
Download -> https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-osx/1.5.00.13703/Teams_osx.pkg

this version of Teams v1.5.00.13703 has fixed the camera issue and the desktop screen-share colors which means they can see the colors accurately through the camera. The current experimental build does not have webcam call and screen sharing issues. ? I recommend you all install the latest version of the experimental build which is v1.5.00.13703.
Wow, thanks for this. Launches way faster and is snappier all around. Wasn't sure if I would ever see this day. What is the best way to make sure I receive further updates on this early release track?

Thanks.
Confirmed 1.5.00.15168 (osx-x64) - published on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 9:41 PM still requires rosetta2.
Looks like that's the wrong build. Below is the correct one.

1.5.00.15202 (osx-x64 + osx-arm64) - published on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 4:54 AM with 204 MB: https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-osx/1.5.00.15202/Teams_osx.pkg

It does seem like the Universal package still requires Rosetta 2 upon installation because of the Teams Audio Driver which is still Intel.

I don't know if that will ever be fixed (maybe it will but we've to give Microsoft some time) but most of the stuff in Microsoft Teams (in the Universal binary) has already been moved to be in Apple Silicon so there will be performance advantages and it'll consume less memory than the Intel binary.

IMO only when have the new WebView on macOS later this year will it ever be fixed.

My Teams mysteriously reverted to the Intel only app. I noticed it when Teams started taking way longer to launch. Not sure if it came from an auto-update mechanism, or something pushed by my company's IT. But, I downloaded the latest exploration build for osx-arm64 and reinstalled it without issues.

The weird video issues have returned in latest builds (week of June 6). Best to stick with an older build from last week which worked correctly

Project should die or be re-written from scratch. I've never been able to manage my projects with this garbage.
Power BI, on the other hand, is clearly lacking on the Mac.

I am running 1.5.00.15861 and have a really weird issue where a little blur is always applied to the camera. (OT, of course, but has anyone else run into this? It makes it impossible to show things in the background, and also blurs the edges of my eyeglasses and ears. It is clearly different than then "Blur" setting, which applies much more blur. I have tried with several different cameras, makes no difference. I am not seeing this on 1.5.00.14473 on Windows. Infuriating.)

Anyhow, where are you finding the links to the latest beta builds? I have turned on "Developer preview" and checked for updates, and am not getting anything newer. I assume continuous deployment is different, but I fail to find them on microsoft.com. (I see links to office.net from GitHub in this thread, which is currently not showing any osx-arm64 versions, is this really the only source?)

Edit: my bad, osx-arm64 was under exploration, not continuous deployment. The question still stands though, is there really no Microsoft source for these links?

Edit 2: I tried 1.5.00.16617-E, but it still has the blur weirdness.

My work is very dependent on Team.
Yes Teams runs, it's only written for Intel. You Tube TV will stop playing and I've had other problems when the Teams app is running.

I've now moved to run Team as an edge app....not perfect, but a lot better.

Anyone have other work arounds?

But seriously, why has MS provided Team as a universal already?
It’s just an electron app. Just run it in a browser.
