you could just roll back to the older Teams version. if it's the audio driver for screen sharing that's broken . rolling back to an older Teams with ARM64 build should fix it. (when installing make sure to install the audio driver for Teams again)

I'm still using this one which works fine (https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-osx/1.5.00.17501/Teams_osx.pkg) . Just make sure that when installing it, install both the Teams and Audio Driver to replace everything that's broken on yours
Rolling back to this doesn't work? @xszuflax @joker00

Same here.....wasn't sure if it's a combination of M1 and MacOS 13....but I had to go back to the Intel version of Teams.
Typical M$

I'm waiting for the fix. Till then I will be using web-based option. Funny enough going back to the previously working version does not fix the issue. It could be a config file of a MSTeamsAudioDevice.driver or something like this.

Have been using the daily updates without issue until today - with version 18509, when I try to join a call, I get the following error:

Something went wrong

You can't make or get calls right now. Try restarting the app. That might solve the problem.

Restarting the app (and rebooting) doesn't help

I completely uninstalled MS Teams using AppCleaner and rolled back to version 1.5.00.18005-E and calls work again. Seems something is broken in the audio/video configuration selection as I can't select any speaker/mic/camera in the latest builds. I've never installed the MS Audio Driver and never had a problem with calls.
You can download this version using the direct download link, https://statics.teams.cdn.office.net/production-osx/1.5.00.18005/Teams_osx.pkg

I've been running 1.5.00.16807-E since June 18th and haven't run into a single error or functions it can't do, but I'm not a heavy user. I mainly use it for web meetings and some light file sharing. With your reports of problems, I might just sit on it until there's a release version!

You have to roll back to the previous version someone shared here on the forums, I also had this issue

I've been using the web version to avoid issues but for the last 2 weeks it has developed issues on Macs. If you use any background setting for your privacy it results in the video turning black if in meetings you change the focus to external chat, calendar or turn off/on on camera. This was also present on windows a week ago and been fixed but the Mac is still left with the issue. This impacts intel and M1 macs. I've only got 12.3 and 12.4 OS and impacts those. Present on safari, edge, chrome and firefox.

Glad you posted. I’ve seen the same issue in Chrome on Intel and M1. I’ll try with no background as a possible fix. After I clean up my office. 🤦‍♂️

Well thinking that perhaps there is some kind of linkage between the updates and the web teams version I thought I'd try all chromium based browsers again. The video issues remain on those. The answer of disabling your background and removing your privacy still appears as the only option. Seems to be a very low focus in teams on privacy. 2 weeks in and seems that there is limited interest in correction.

Of course Safari does not have the ability to add backgrounds to the video and hence you can only use web teams without any user privacy.

Edge and chrome betas do not address the problem.

Firefox has been waiting 2 years for a logged fault with microsoft to fix video. However, if you load the 'Fix Teams Video' extension and then change to use the latest Mac OS Edge User Agent Teams appears to work correctly with video in meetings. So this is obviously a Microsoft Edge issue by the looks. Simply migrating to firefox can fix the problem.

Hi everyone.
tell me how to stop the background update?
I put the beta version for m1, but after a while it is updated to the intel version

Unfortunately firefox does not have incoming video. I've tried Brave and Chrome and they have the same issue as Edge. So I guess the only answer is turn off privacy background effects, or need to switch the video to miniimize/maximize or switch to zoom. Zoom has no issues. I guess that is it until microsoft decide to address the issue.

I would imagine you have to turn off autoupdates. The AS/Universal version isn't beta (it's pre-beta/tech preview). So if it upgrades to beta/preview release, it's going to update to the Intel version. Citrix Workspace is doing the same thing.

I think this is the way, but not 100% sure (not checked back though the whole thread to check).

Open the Microsoft Auto Update app. I open it by running the following in the terminal.

open "/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate.app"

Then uncheck the box to prevent automatic updates.

My teams on Mac mini was working really well.. now I can’t get sound when in a call. Settings haven’t changed. When I switch from my studio to display to mini speakers it’s still the same no sound

Have no idea how to fix

Unfortunately there is not too much you can say abut this. It is Microsoft and teams. This is status normal and fixes appear to take years.
