I just tried it in Album view as per your post - I can't get it to work with drag and drop unless I add one track with the "Option Click" first - then once there is a track in the "Playing Next" I can drag and drop and it works fine and places the songs in the correct order.

Strange that it won't work with a blank "Playing Next"

I am able to confirm that with Big Sur 11.2, the Music app still sucks. Still laggy and buggy and crashed within 120 seconds of being on 11.2. What a complete surprise...
I’ve got a very large library of over 75,000 songs, almost all uploaded or Matched. I’ve got a huge list of Apple Music playlists added along with my own playlists. I don’t think I’ve ever had the Music app crash on me once. And, to me anyway, it’s been way better with Big Sur compared to Catalina.

I would agree that Big Sur has been better but its still not where it should be as shipping product.

An AppleScript Menu is available in Music by V 1.1.2.28
You need merely Create a "Music" folder in your user Library, put a Scripts folder inside it, and put a script inside that folder, eg: /Users/xxx/Library/Music/Scripts/Adrenergy.scpt
The script is "Adrenergy.scpt"
Next time you open Music "Adrenergy" will show up in a newly revealed Script Menu.
I've used this for years under iTunes to assign Keyboard shortcuts to my playlists, through System prefs, keyboard shortcuts. It looks like getting that to work under Big Sur and Music will only require twiddling with a few lines of code.
What I'm talking about:

Those are playlist shortcuts in that Menu. I got one to work under Big Sur/Music this morning.
I use them via my Bluetooth keyboard from across the room.

Probably always smart to wait a few months, but my experience with Music has been the opposite of Jack's. It's mostly a pleasure to use and super fast, even with my 60K+ song library. I use Music exclusively for my local digital library, so I disable iTunes and Apple Music in the preferences. There are definitely some bugs and issues, as detailed in the first post of this thread, but they've been relatively minor for me and I've experienced zero crashes.

Always been the case. See first post :p

Nothing new to report in 1.1.4.56, but this new bug has been bugging me lately:
  1. Returning to a song you are playing in the main library (Songs) with cmd-L is now impossible as it displays it as part of an album always - even if it is not part of an album / the only song. Previously would return to the place in the list.

Not sure if anyone else noticed this issue - when connected to a monitor via USB-C which connects to a speaker via line-out (3.5mm), Music's audio quality is exceptionally reduced while audio from other software (e.g. Youtube on Safari) has no issue. This occurs on my M1 MBA with 11.1 installed.

Yeah, that has been annoying me too since using Catalina's Music.

I had that happen when I switched to my AirPods Pro. I thought it was because I had Logic open as well and it got audio interfaces confused.

I'm pretty sure this is from the new Big Sur beta update: Suddenly, adding my Airport Express kills all sound from my Mac. Airport works perfectly with other sources (e.g., iPhone music app), but silence if Airport chosen from Music app on MBA. Anyone find this?

My Library sync (match) had turned off. Turned it back on and didn't match a single track (error) that had matched, so it effectively doubled my library with duplicates

Anyone running iTunes and Music side by side on the same machine for comparison of heartache and pain ?

Yes, exactly the same on my iMac. ;(
Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

Internet radio is being broadcast by thousands of sources every day for free. $10 per month to listen to internet radio, when the old iTunes used to do it... bothers me. What gets me is the fact that Apple isn't improving the experience for the user. Apple is working to find angles to squeeze the consumer of money. I like the integration of products, was looking to use iWeb, was looking forward to having my headaches taken care of. Nope. Now I have headaches and I'm being pinned down by a bully who took my money.

I'd like to add, on released version of Big Sur and persisting in 11.2.1 - search for album/artist/song - after a few seconds, maximum one minute, search results disappear and window reverts to "searching your library" not a major issue but certainly irritating

You could always try myTuner / internet Radio App - its a great app for internet radio - it's free and it is great for podcasts too - I have it on my Mac's - iPhones and iPads and Apple TV and much better than the iTunes radio - IMHO
