The playback seems to be better in the second beta, however, the progress bar still doesn't update properly.

Dunno, doesn't look right to me.
Yeah, it won't look right unless you have words with ascenders AND descenders in them. You happen to be showing words with no descenders, so it looks off.

Also, your blue guidelines are off. The letter "I" in the font has an ascender violator, which goes past the Cap Height (it shouldn't, but there are plenty of fonts that do that). The blue Guideline should be aligned with the top of the capital letters (F and A, in this case).

All these things combined can make it look off. But designer of fonts can't really accommodate every possible letter/word combination.

Of course, it could just be the dude that coded this was doing shots with Red Bull chasers all night. 🤣

I wish there was a way to hide or disable "Browse" in the left panel. I'm so sick of accidentally clicking on it thinking its really "Listen Now," or hoping there's anything relevant in that trash pit.

As far as I know the latest retroactive app ( not retrpospective) version 1.9 DOES NOT WORK on Monterey. So don’t tell us it works on Ventura.
Yes it does work on both Monterey and Ventura. I'm running it right now. It's just on Apple Silicon it has never and will never work.

Is this Ventura DB2 feature for Apple Silicon only? I'm not seeing current audio playing (Dolby Atmos / Apple Music) nor am I seeing the Spatial Audio settings for my AirPods Pro?

This is actually on Monterrey as well, and I'm on Apple Silicon. I thought it was in one of the 12.1-12.4 updates.

Slight edit: On Monterrey, the app is not indicated only the format. So the new thing on Ventura is the app where audio is coming from is indicated.

Installed the Ventura public beta on my main machine. Fingers crossed, I kick myself every year but cant help it

Audio seemed to get corrupted on me twice in short succession; it's happened in Monty but pretty rare

Scrolling though albums/songs seems rather laggy? Or is it just me?

Went from Music 13.102 to 13.107 with the latest beta, dont see any differences

Still, though, Browse remains the most useless feature on the app. Who are these selections even for?

I'm still waiting from them to bring back the "New from artists in your library" section.

Listen Now has a section like that called New Releases fwiw. Expanding it I dont see any artists that aren't in my library but I think sometimes they sneak related ones in

What bothers me most is that when I browse recommended playlists on Apple Music and only see thumbnails of albums and song titles. It does not show artists and there is no option to change the view (blind spot). My playlists display correctly. The Music app (iOS 16 beta) is working fine.

spoke too soon, 13.107 is a serious performance boost compared to when the beta OS first launched.

scrolling through albums or recently added, for example, doesnt have any lag and if i scroll way down where no art is cached, it appears within less than a second on M1

Noticed this as well, I don't know what they've done but it's now much smoother when scrolling.

Also is it just me or have the tracks been tweaked? Seem narrower to me

When using retroactive iTunes, is it possible to make iTunes the default music app so the music app doesn’t upload if one clicks on a mp3 file?
