I'm pretty confident millions & millions of other users would disagree with you ;) that was a little bit of a drama queen statement ..... :p

Not really, i agree with him and im far less picky than he is. Absolutely needs to be jailbroken to make it worthwhile imo. Lacks too much otherwise.

Important question:

The slightly tweaked April 12th iPhone 5 will undoubtedly be released with 6.1.3.

Can that be jailbroken???

I doubt it. It seems that the jailbreak team is going to skip trying to JB 6.1.3+ and concentrate their efforts on iOS 7.

How are they going to do that? Does Apple leak iOS 7 to them like Samsung does to the Devs? There is a whole ROM out days after the new Galaxy is out.

Well, no, Apple doesn't leak iOS -- though I expect that a beta of iOS 7 will be released to iOS devs before it is released to the general public, as it always have been with previous iOS versions. I just meant that the jailbreak team is leaning towards saving the currently known exploits for iOS 7 instead of burning them on any more versions of iOS 6.

Well everything said is the respective poster's opinion, so, yeah, thanks for that mr. common sense.

=[

That majorly sucks.

----------

Is why for my phone i wont consider it. I dont want to deal with jailbreaks anymore or with iTunes. Jailbreaks are slower and slower. Then there is the small screen.

Wont consider iPhone til they ate least go to a 4.5" screen at minimum...and it has to be wider too.

I did see a video of the HTC One and it was impressive. I have time to check em out. I wont be getting another phone for 3 to 6 months.

I hear ya. It's basically to tie me over until I can make a decision about the S4 or the HTC One.

Thankfully, May 1st is the projected S4 date, so... well within my 30 day grace period (from April 12th).

Are you sure Apple will restart the 30 days and allow you to return it?
Seems a bit deceptive.

Put down the defences, my post was joking / in jest / jovial ... I was trying to have a bit of craic with you....

.........

People have lost all ability in this forum to spot posts which are joking / sarcasm / in jest / friendly banter - and it seems folks seem to think every post has to be an attack ... It doesn't, and it isn't.

Well this is interesting...

Tmobile users will have to buy a more specific "Tmobile version" of the iPh 5 on April 12th if you want to fully take advantage of HSPA+ on Tmobile.

http://www.tmonews.com/2013/03/appl...bands-existing-devices-wont-have-aws-support/

This is actually great news. Come April 12th, I can swap out my current iPh5 for a Tmobile version, thus granting me another 30 days while I wait for S4 and USA HTC One reviews.

INTERESTING.

Yeah, exchanging phones won't restart the 30 day clock. However, as he bought it unlocked, Onthecouchagain should be able to return it and either come back at another time or visit a difference Apple store and repurchase the T-Mobile version, though he may need to use a different credit card as I think Apple tracks iPhone purchases from the same card/customer.

and hopefully, a Mission Impossible style latex mask.
Going from his avatar, he'd be pretty easy to pick out from a line-up ...

Hmm, well it must be hard to jailbreak iOS these days than it used to be because iOS 7 wont be coming out anytime soon so why not work on the next one? Im just thinking out loud here. I havent been on the lookout for those in a long while so i guess i was expecting them to be able to do rather quickly.....guess not>

Why couldnt he just go to a T-Mobile store and get it? You dont have to get it thru Apple.

Well, I haven't checked but assumed T-Mobile only had the same 14 day return period as all other US carriers--he needs another 30 days. And I also haven't followed T Mobile's new program that was just rolled out but also assumed that while they're changing their phone subsidies, figured they're not selling unlocked iPhones and an unlocked device will have a better resale value.

Yeah, jailbreaking has gotten a lot harder. For the latest one, they had to string together 4-5 exploits. And of course, Apple only needed to block one exploit to block the JB. So while I don't expect jailbreaking to totally go away, it's getting longer and longer to get a new jailbreak. So that's another thing to keep in mind when choosing between iOS and Android.

Serious question. Why can't I download a PDF from Dropbox to my Photo gallery?

Is there a way?

If there isn't, iOS seriously does not deserve the "most advanced operating system". It's little discoveries like these that drive me nuts about the iPhone and iOS.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong. I really want to be wrong because I can't believe this is an impossible thing to do.

The only options I see are "Print" or "Open in" (and the options are Chrome or iBook)... or "Email" "Text Message" "Facebook Messae" "Post to Facebook" (puke), "Tweet" or "Copy Link to Clipboard".

Help.

PDFs aren't photos...iBooks has a PDF mode that saves all your PDFs, just open it in there and it'll store it.

Okay, that'll suffice. Thank you.

For what it's worth, if I never downloaded iBooks or Goodreader, how would one save PDFs? iBooks is not a stock iOS app.

You don't even have to open it in another app. Just tap on a PDF file within Dropbox and you can view it. If you want to see the PDF file while offline, just favorite it by tapping the star sign.

I believe there's just a PDF viewer built-in to the browser. I'm not sure you can save PDFs unless you download apps (cue tirade of iOS ;))
