Surprised that you're not that familiar with iOS but you do have many criticisms of it.

I went in with the intention of jailbreaking, which I knew would change the experience. Indeed, it has.

Also, I'm pleasantly surprised by how much better the keyboard has gotten.

Nothing is set in stone. I may move onto the HTC One or the S4 and you'll hear no more of my criticisms of the iPhone. :)

Suitable for framing! :p

Hmm. Perhaps once apple locks down OS X completely and windows 7 on my pc gets its first virus, I'll worry about it.

Then again I don't stop my kids to go outside to play because I cannot trust them to be safe. There is a point when a user must be able to know common sense. Throwing everything behind a lockdown doesn't make things greet.

Unfortunately there are many side effects of JB. I Jb my 4S and it became unstable. Auxo is awesome if you used together with Activator, but Activator gave me many problems. Apparently JB seems more stable on iPhone 5. I'm so used to iOS that many annoyances you have seems natural to me. It actually feels weird having back button when I use SG3.
I do wish Apple would add setting toggles for Wifi, Bluetooth etc in iOS7. It was one thing I missed the most from Jailbreak.

The mail issue may be a deal breaker. I can already tell this is not going to work out...

Lack of push, lack of ability to attach files, lack of entire inbox and labels loaded right away, no indicator of which email is from which account...

Navigating through the menus suck too. If I want to see Sent mail, I have to navigate out of All Mail then navigate back into that specific email account and find it. Ditto if I want see any other Labeled emails. Then if I wanna go back to All Mail, got to navigate back out and in again.

The Mail app is so limited.

Once again, just laborious to accomplish what should be incredibly basic tasks. I thought Apple is trying to get into the Corporate side of things? How can you not allow attachments of files, spreadsheets, PDFs, etc?

I have plenty of time before the One or S4 arrive, so I'm going to try to get used to it and make it work, but this may be the nail in the coffin.

PS. Gmail app as a solution sort of sucks. It's a lot slower, clunkier, and still doesn't allow attachments beyond pictures.

Good point. I'll definitely be monitoring my battery and whatnot carefully in the next few days given JB and all these apps.

Viruses really aren't what you need to be concerned about these days. Fortunately, people are actively responding to active threats on our behalf:

http://arstechnica.com/security/2013/03/apple-purges-os-x-flaw-that-let-java-apps-run-when-plugin-was-disabled/

I really don't get the impression that you even read the first link, so I doubt the one will make any difference to you -- others might read though ...

Do you tell your kids not to bother wearing seat belts?

As a go between for your Mail push issues, why not set a new rule within the GMail web interface to forward all emails received instantly to a new iCloud address. Viola Push email!

No I did. Your first link states about nitro for safari web apps. Check your link.

And yeah I tell them to wear seatbelts, but I don't have my car set up to not start or move if they didn't.

As I stated, after a certain time they are adults (or have ample common sense at a certain stage of life), and I am not there to keep looking over fixing all their mistakes. I train, give advice, monitor behavior especially when they are too young but after that it is not my duty to physically force them to do anything. I never had my parents do the same either, otherwise I would be a dependent till age 50 or till I die.

And as I said again, I will worry about this stuff once I do encounter malware/virus ware on my non-apple hardware. Anyone I know who had them were always doing some shady stuff anyways, so let them reap the benefits.

I suggested this too! The difference will be pretty much unnoticeable unless he wants to reply to messages using his Gmail account, in which case it only takes like a second to choose that account rather than iCloud.

Agreed! Best of both worlds in my opinion ;)

Some times I get the feeling that you're just trying to find excuses not to like the iPhone 5, instead of just trying to find solutions for your problems, like the attachments, the mail enhancer pro + that essentially solve your problems. Of course is much easier to just complain it doesn't work because it worked in a way that you're used to when you used Android.

Hey - You've got the right to live the way you want to ... but this is all off the subject. The subject started with people drawing a cartoon image of Apple not allowing other browsers to use Nitro just to make them look bad ... which if you read and understand the article, is simply not the case.

Go ahead and think that people getting infected with malware deserve it if it serves some purpose to you -- but it can happen just visiting a perfectly legitimate website that you've been using safely for years -- or opening a link that appears to be from someone you trust.

Griping about security measures, and starting to be concerned only after you realize you've been victimized by something like identity theft, is not a policy I would recommend to anyone I care about.

His posts certainly come across that way even if he doesn't intend them to!

I actually like animations =\. They are subtle and still fast

Try fakeclockup at the slowest setting. You'll reeeaaaally appreciate the animations. :D

(not joking, it was actually very neat to see the animations in slow motion)

----------

EDIT: It's honestly too fast. It's dizzying. Even at low settings. I have set to 2x fast. It's insanely blazing.

Press and hold an icon so they jiggle. It's like you're on crack. lol

It's like that for every device.

I truly am trying though I can see why it doesn't seem that way. That's fair.

Regardless these shortcomings are real.

Thanks for reminding me that I made the correct choice leaving iOS for Android :D:D:D

Reading the negatives of your list reminded me of the same stuff I hated. Android is so liberating!

Plus you didn't mention not being able to download stuff from the web to a general file browser accessible to all apps.

This kind of things are more important than widgets and live wallpapers.

Feel bad you had to downgrade from the Nexus 4, to the iPhone 5. Like going from a Plasma HDTV to a B&W tube.

There's no way I'd trade my N4, for an i5. Why would I ever want to that ? No logical reason.

Not sure what phone your talking about ? My Nexus 4 gets 5h On Screen time consistently, and overall battery life of around 15 - 17 hours per day.

Right now at 10 hours total, with 44% battery life left, and On Screen time of 4h 9m.

Going to try AnyAttach tonight. Really appreciate the recommendations.

----------

Are you using iMessage and iCloud? Siri? Passbook?

iMessage sometimes. I primarily use Whatsapp.

iCloud I use for syncing Safari bookmarkts, Notes, Find my iPhone and a few other things.

Siri, rarely.

Passbook, no. Honestly, not even sure I know what Passbook is.

Call quality was terrible on three different Nexus 4's that I got. I tried. I couldn't keep sending RMAs back and forth. I will likely never purchase another LG smartphone again.

I elaborate some here if you're curious why I ultimately returned them all:

I really tried to make the N4 work. It wasn't just an issue at beginning of calls. It was the entire call that had sound quality issues. The other person could barely hear me. I was extremely choppy (especially when in speaker mode).

I have had zero call quality issues with the iPh5. In fact, the other party says I'm crystal clear.

I really wanted to keep the Nexus 4. Google sent me two RMAs. They, themselves, heard the choppiness right away (for all three devices) when I called in. Just unacceptable.

I later discovered at the Tmobile store that they've had a handful of people returning/exchanging their N4s for the same exact issue. My uncle, who got a Nexus 4 per my recommendation also has trouble with calls and is subsequently also exchanging. He's still waiting for his RMA last I checked.

I love stock Android, but no thanks.

Also try out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FkqoXeM9SE

It will make all mails be labeled, quick actions like mark as read, etc, etc

Is there a jailbreak app that makes Chrome the default browser?

After installing Swipe Safari, I'm not minding Safari so much. I can triple tap to scroll down, I can tap and hold to open a new tab, double tap hold to close tab, and swipe left/right to switch tabs (just like Chrome). And Webscrollian fixes the scrolling limitations.

It indeed feels good to break Apple's stupid barriers. I mean, they really are stupid. I'm not trying to insult them. Some of their decisions for the "most advanced operating system" make zero sense.

Jailbreaking helps tremendously.

Chrome on iOS is really just Safari with the Chrome skin. Apple still doesnt allow others to have their footprint on iOS.

I don't think you're a iPhone guy and I don't see you sticking with it. You seem quite picky and want that perfect phone.
