I for the life of me *cannot* figure out Apple's priority system. The *one* time I order something on announcement day at 11:28am Sept 1st it still does not show any change of status, and all I see here & on other sites are how people ordered the day after me and it's already on an airplane on it's way......

Got my tracking as well. This morning it said delivery by Sept 30th, now it was just changed to October 5th. It looks like the apple tv's got to Fed Ex after their deliver cutoff time. This is the message that was just posted by Fed Ex on the tracking site.

Same thing happened here. Not really pissed though, because with these international shipments it's impossible to predict the real delivery date. I honestly doubt it will be October 5th, but I guess we will see what happens.
Yeah, like mentioned by others after our posts, I too cannot figure out the priority system which is in place for orders. One would think the computers would simply go down the line of orders as they were received. Oh well, just checked and mine is now Prepared for Shipment. Hoping it catches up to the rest of you much like during the iPhone 4 mess where some had their phones arrive and the system was lagging behind.
For those of you keeping score at home, mark me down as another briefly 9/30, now 10/5. Seems there is a lot of this going around.
My Apple store in MN says they will have them this week but do not know which day. They encouraged me to call after 11:00 AM each day to see whether their shipment of ATVs has arrived.
My sense is that these are all in the first production run from the factory and the delivery times are more a function of where you are in the US because they are all coming here on the same planes. As for the stores, I can't see how they'd have them any sooner than the first buyers for the same reason unless they shipped a production run to the stores early. I can't see how Apple would do that knowing how ticked off the loyal pre-ordering customers would be. They seem to be selling out their first production runs with iPhones, iPads and now Apple TVs via pre-orders so that doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

ugh, mine was picked up from fed-ex around 12 today, nothing has happened since.
same here with the 30th, but now the 5th
though i've learned fed-ex is either hit or miss with these estimated deliveries.
either 5 days off, or right on the mark.... i'm hope it still gets here by friday.
