OPs method confirmed works for those that installed 247 btw.

I:
- installed 247 from Cydia (before I realised it was unhackable)
- installed 227 from the .deb above over the top of that (without explicit uninstall of 247)
- Manually overwrote the warning.caf with the one provided by OP
- Manually changed localization.strings with the suggested new LANGUAGE_ID

works perfectly :) no warning tone

Yep,

It really is just that simple :D (and even easier for those of us from US since we can skip your Step 4) :D

I went ahead and saved the 227 version in my dropbox and on my computer. so if by chance he removes it from the website ill still have it. If he does that and someone needs it, send me a message and ill email it to you.

What am I doing wrong? I downloaded the deb (and installed) from limneos.net/repo.

Next I went through the PayPal purchase step and the app became licensed. It works, but it plays the warning. Where do I download the version that I install on top, to remove the warning?

Fist page of this thread, first post about halfway down the page is a link (Dropbox)

I simply downloaded Audio Recorder from ModMyi yesterday (I think it is v. 227), activated it, installed the Op's deb file, rebooted and all is smooth. Thanks!:D

Well now, I have a dilemma. Just went to Cydia to the limneos repo and it wants me to update to v. 247. What are the instructions on this one? It is working fine now so I hate to make any changes.

Wait a bit - hopefully I'll release the new "muted" version soon (in, say, an hour).

Thanks for the advice. And, thanks for all your work!!

In the meantime, just use 227. Do NOT update - yet.

(As with all Cydia apps, you can disable the auto-update in the Cydia page of the app.)

Done. I mean the hacking.

Elias has definitely strengthened the mute protection - added the CRC's to callrecorder.dylib as well.

I will VERY soon release the muted version of 247 - stay tuned!!!!

DEB file ready:

Just install it on top of the official, activated 247. (Albeit, it should work on "virgin" iPhones as well, including activation, without having to install / activate the official version first. However, I haven't tested it in this regard as my iPhone 5 is already registered / activated.)

GEEKS / PROGRAMMERS ONLY:

BTW, for people interested in how this was done, let me show you some screenshots:

1. the differences in the dylib files (the one in my DEB and that of the original):

dylibVS.png

2. the original dylib with ASCII view enabled so that you can easily spot the CRC strings (I've annotated the first of them for the locale 'ar' - all the others are after this CRC string):

3. the hacked dylib with the CRC string you already know from my original post:

Note that the last two steps don't work with the new (247) version any more, given that the dylib also needs to be changed.

I installed the deb through iFile on a "virgin iPhone 5" (never installed any version of Audio Recorder before). Don't see anything about Audio Recorder in my Settings app. What should I be looking for?
