You shouldn’t let other people use your phone. Everyone has their own smartphone now.
[doublepost=1512270056][/doublepost]I have used the leather case from Apple for several generations of iPhones since the 5s. Elegant and low profile with good protection and feels good in hands.

I have never used any screen protectors. Never scratched any screen over so many years. I don’t want anything to obstruct the beautiful screen.

Everyone has a smartphone?!?! Wow what a shocker!!!

I was going to let this go (I hate cases) but I can't ignore the last few words. ;)

Sorry, but…Otterbox Defender≠lovely case.
Nah, it’s kind of ugly but in a way that a mother could love. :p Though right now my X is out of the Otterbox and in an Apple leather case. This morning it was naked except for the tempered glass backing that’s on it and a totally invisible front screen protector. I guess you could say it wasn’t so much naked as it was in its underwear. Then I went out to run errands so I put it in the Apple case.

When I’m going places with the kids or doing yard and housework it will be in the Otterbox. I like the Otterbox Defender because it’s tough and protective but easy to remove without bending or scratching the phone. It comes apart and the phone lifts right out.

When I’m going to be home sitting on my butt on the sofa the phone will be in its glass underwear.

I have had my X for over 2 weeks now and I do have a clear case that I have been using before I decide what I want to do. A part of me wants to use the phone without a case because it is too stunning to throwing on something that covers up the shiny edges/back of the device, but on the other hand I don’t have Apple Care and will probably want to resell it in the future. Apple has luckily lowered the price of screen replacements to $279 (without Apple Care) from the original $579 which I can live with. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still expensive, but $279 isn't flat out stupid.
For those of you that have been using the X without a case, how has it been so far? Are there extensive scratches/noticeable dents already?

Thank You!

Mine is waaaay to slippery to hold onto without a case. It would slide right out of my hand onto the pavement without a case, or some skateboard grip tape.

I went with a clear tech21 case that still shows off all it's glory, and sometimes an Underamour case with grey edges and a crystal clear back.

At home my iPhone X goes naked, but when I'm leaving the house I stick her into the Apple leather folio case. This offers protection on the back and also on the front when the iPhone is in my purse or other bag. I also bought the Apple Product Red silicone case but haven't used it yet. I never just lay my iPhone down, or when I do it is always on a clean, soft surface. I have a couple BlueLounge organizing stands which were meant for iPads but work beautifully for iPhones as well. The plastic protects the glass back from scratches and the device is propped up for easy visibility when I am at the computer or somewhere else. When I am carrying the naked iPhone around the house I hang on to it with a firm grip so that it won't slip out of my hand and land on hardwood or tile floors. Like some others here, I have never used a screen protector on any iPhone ever, and I've had most of them since the very first one. IMHO screen protectors are not necessary and I think that they affect the way the phone feels to the fingers.

Always caseless. Been careless since iPhone 4 and was doing 2 year upgrades till the 7+.
I have a Wells Fargo credit card and they cover it if you break it if you pay your phone bill every month with it.
Been caseless since nov 3rd launch and theres some light scratches in the stainless. Nothing bad that won't come out with a polishing cloth for stainless. I haven't polished it yet ill try it when it gets worse and see no issues with it looking brand new. I never drop phones and the glass is grippier than the 6+ and 7+ by far. Also the size Is smaller and easier to hold so I dont see myself having problems.
Im always aware of my phone thats just what you have to get used to and people are clumsy. Im never clumsy with my electronics its just the way ive always been with things I own.
This is the best feeling iPhone in the hand and using by far if you can get used to being more aware of your phone and have a backup insurance in case then I see no reason for a case. It takes so much away from this phone for me. the stainless and the glass feel amazing in your hand.

Naked X here from 11/4. There are some scuffs in the stainless band at the top of the phone, due to me putting the phone in my pocket top down.

I have polished the band twice, and everything else is fine on it.

[doublepost=1512312848][/doublepost]I use my X without a case and I have AppleCare+. However, once a year I go on vacation out of the country, and I put the Apple Leather Case on during those occasions.

I am honestly amazed that anyone can use the X without a case - mine is as slippery as an eel and I can't hold onto it if my life counted on it.

Naked. Always. I like to use phones the way they were built to be used.

Screen protectors and cases just ruin the sleekness and beauty. Straight out of the box, the look and feel is top-notch. Why add some cheap plastic and extra layers to make it feel like a piece of ****? Just to keep it beautiful for the next person, while never fully experiencing it yourself?

It’s like when people buy an expensive, fancy new car, but barely drive it because they “don’t want to put miles on it”. Well then... why did you buy it?? Use it as intended! Get your money’s worth!

I’ve had mine naked since release day. No scratches on the glass, but a very minor knick on the top-backside of the silver band, from a drop. It was devastating at first, but it subsides and then you start to feel less paranoid all the time.

No case, no screen protector. Had the X since launch day, no scratches or drops or damage visible to the naked eye. If there are micro scratches on the side, I can’t see them, so I don’t care.

I’ve carried an “unprotected” iPhone since the 3G, and never cracked the screen, never had major damage. Accidents do happen, but I tend to take care of my phones. It’s second nature not to throw it on the couch, or put it in a pocket with anything else, for example. Over the years, I have mostly skipped AppleCare Plus more than I’ve bought it, because I upgrade annually, and any time I’ve had to take it in for a fix, it’s been a manufacturing or battery issue, which is covered by the general warranty.

I do have cheap AT&T insurance this year, because I am on the AT&T Next program. If the unprecedented happens, it’ll pay for a repair/replacement, and I won’t have to worry about it being unfit to turn in next year.

did you not have the 6 6s or 7's? Those where much more slippery in the hand than glass is. Besides the jet black which felt basically the same as glass grip wise.
Compared to the last 3 years the glass is the grippiest in the hand. Laying on clothes its very slippery. Or if your fingers are always wet

3 days used the iPhone X without a case and had a fall once, luckily there's no damage or scuff marks.

However after I put on a case, I do believe it reduced most chances of a fall. Sigh! Only if Apple was able to make the device more grippier, then I would have been more bold to go caseless.

Using Spigen Rugged Armour case and do miss the Naked look.
Everything is beautiful when Naked ;)!

You know what really ruins the sleekness and beauty of the iPhone X? A naked one slamming against concrete haha. I had mine in a slim fit case loved it. Until it dropped and broke my screen lol. Use an otter box symmetry now. You get used to the size in no time and at home I go naked.

I need some protection as it would drive my nuts having little scratches on my X. I use a Caudabe Veil XT which is VERY minimal protection, but enough for me. I haven't broken any of my iPhone's though so maybe I am lucky.

I have been using my X in all it's glory without a case since I had it delivered on 11/3. Other than the finger prints on the front, back and sides of the phone that I wipe off easily with a microfiber cloth countlessly throughout the day, my phone looks just like new.

Those repeated microfiber cleans are what I’m afraid off. Always got micro scratches I could only see in the sunlight. I can wipe my screen no worries with a screen protector though
