Those repeated microfiber cleans are what I’m afraid off. Always got micro scratches I could only see in the sunlight. I can wipe my screen no worries with a screen protector though

I should've honestly went with the silver model to be honest. Sadly after I posted earlier, I looked on the back of my phone and see one micro scratch. Not a huge deal and I don't think it's from my microfiber cloth, but still.

One drawback of the space gray over the silver.

did you not have the 6 6s or 7's? Those where much more slippery in the hand than glass is. Besides the jet black which felt basically the same as glass grip wise.
Compared to the last 3 years the glass is the grippiest in the hand. Laying on clothes its very slippery. Or if your fingers are always wet

My Jet Black 7+ is much less slippery when naked than the regular iPhone 7+ that I tried in the store. Something about the jet black finish allows it to suction-cup stick to my fingers. Nevertheless, I still used a tech21 case for my 7+ JB.

At least with the stainless model, the scratches can be buffed out with a polishing cloth, as you noted, the space Gray bands cannot due to the PVD coating.

Didn’t I say the jet black is basically the same grip wise as the glass black new phones? Haha. The normal aluminum models where slick as hell.

I need some protection as it would drive my nuts having little scratches on my X.

Hey look! We agree! :D

I've said it once though and I'll say it again referencing the naked users.

It just amazes me how many people shell out $1000+ for a phone... and then go cheese mode when it comes to protecting it.

All good till you drop it I guess... given the screen/phone repair costs it's a risk I refuse to take. I've never bought AC... but I have bought 3 $20 bumpered cases over the last 5 years. Solid drop protection that has been tested time and time again and hasn't failed yet.

Napkin math shows what over the last 5 years? $60 spent on cases and $450 not spent on AC? Haven't spent a nickel on repairs of any kind on any phone either and sold 2 of the 3 for premium pricing 1 year later. The 3rd I kept 2 years and traded in on the 8 Plus.

Ya'll enjoy those naked phones though. They surely are beautiful until they have a big crack down the screen. :D

Haha yes, we agree on very little here. It's a shame because I wish I could go naked with my iPhone X as it's a really beautiful device, but not worth the micro scratches. I have never purchased AC or broken my iPhone, but I always opt for the most minimal case I can find just for peace of mind. I agree though, don't get why you wouldn't at least through a case on it.

I've been going caseless for a few years now but have opted for the midnight blue Apple leather case for my X. Not sure how I was able to deal with the fingerprints on the JB 7 but it's been pretty bad for me with first the 8 and now the X. I've even gone so far as adding a cheap anti-glare screen protector (which actually makes the swipe gestures more enjoyable, IMO) to avoid having to deal with fingerprints. I have to wipe my screen down maybe once a day vs. not using a case and having to do it every time I touch it.

I do pull it out of the case every now and then when I'm at home sitting on the couch to enjoy it's design.

I have a screen protector and a glass back protector on mine, and a glass lens protector. That’s it. But there is a big difference between you and me..

I don’t drop $1000+ phones

Naked FTW. I use a glass screen protector for the front because micro scratches drive me crazy on the screen. But I can live with micro scratches anywhere else. Actually don't notice any scratching or imperfections to the is point (all the hand smudges cover everything up).

I've opted to go for a sleeve as a sort of middle ground. The phone is naked when in use but protected when not and in transport.

A side benefit I didnt expect is that the sleeve I went with is a fitbag the inside of which is microfiber which also ends up cleaning the display of smudges.

Rocking my naked as well. Returned the Apple leather case I had. Why hide Jonathan Ive’s hard work ? This phone is just too beautiful to hide it. It’s been two weeks going ceaseless with my silver X, little micro scratches if I really try to look, but you can’t tell in the naked eye, I’m ok with that.

[...] and a glass lens protector.

That's a great idea, especially with the lens size (even with a case with a small lip). Which one did you use? (I see some are bundled with a screen/rear protector ... the standalone options aren't reviewed very well).

I bought a set of 5 tempered glass lens covers from a seller on ebay named fullness99. They have flash and mic cutouts - at the time, I couldn’t find any US sellers with the cutouts (several selling them with no cutouts, so it would block the microphone), so it took over a week to import. Fits very well when installed.

Buy more than one. I can almost guarantee you’ll have “trouble” installing properly

How do all,I’m new to the forums but not new to the Iphone clan I got my X on Saturday last and ordered my rhino shield bumper today, don’t get me wrong I love how the space grey looks especially naked but that risk factor is just too much I’ve not put a single mark on it as yet and I don’t intend to I opted for the clear back so not to hide it away too much but definitely gonna be covered against drops soon I do have the accidental cover as well but still gonna put a bumper on it

My Jet Black 7+ is a lot more grippy than my iPhone X, so why is my X so slippery that I can't grip it?

How about this.

Is your 8/8 plus/X a virgin?

I don’t use iTunes and I use a wireless charger. So yes, my X is a virgin.
